Deus Pater (Exalted/40k)

For those going for To War We Go, bear in mind we'd be leading that army into a daemon infested battlefield with minimal anti-corruption methods. I'd highly suggest switching out burning gaze for meditation, especially since that apparently creates a mini-gellar field around us.

Passive vs Active defense. I'm assuming upgrading Burning Gaze of the Deliverer gives us a means of affecting daemons and/or improving our awareness of them working around us.

In any event, I don't think Maugan Ra will make any choice useless.

[X] An Army. Sanguis is a world of billions, and there is no shortage of volunteers. You will take a sizeable portion of the defense forces with you, and a substantial number of new recruits who can be trained en route, plus the bulk of the local Sororitas. With their aid you may cast back the darkness, and make the sacrifices you demand of them worthwhile.
[X] XP Plan Anti-Daemon
-[X] Burning Gaze of the Deliverer - 250 XP
-[X] General of the All-Seeing One - 250 XP
-[X] Transcendent Hero's Meditation - 250 XP
-[X] Ruin Abasing Shrug - 250 XP

Part of the problem with deamon infested battlefields is that they're passively corrupting. If stage two of Burning Gaze lets us blast warp taint out of the environment, that will be a viable strategy.

That, well, doesn ´t seem to be focus of that particular charm? It seems more about sensing and seeking immaterial beings than doing something about them. Thats more area of Meditation.

Hmmm... @jjffjhjf Okay so I gave it some thought and slept on it and have come to the conclusion that the randomness in the zenith and dawn charms isn't precisely appealing. That being said, raising the General charm and Meditation is most of what I want I've come to realize and I think there is a point to raising Zenith.

It seems like a terrible idea to lead an army with only Proficient Dawn. Our Zenith should get everyone to follow our orders, but we want to actually give good orders.

The Navy has ways to deal with corruption generally burn it with plasma. If we can point it out they should be able to deal with it.

That scenario is extraneous to the discussion of the usefulness of Burning Gaze vs. Meditation, and their application to operating in deamon infested environments.

And this focus on the personal warp effectiveness of one charm is extraneous to the thrust of the plan. It's 750xp focused on effectively leading the army we're raising. Burning Gaze is most likely to be useful in pointing in the direction we should be hosing the small ocean world's worth of blessed water promethium we're gonna bring.

This seems like a solid plan. It notably doesn't do anything to increase skills, but I feel like we need a solid charms core before continuing. There will be opportunities for skill training in the future, so I'm opposed to putting XP in a skill except to bring it to the next level. On that note, it wouldn't be completely unreasonable to bring Dawn up a level now... but we'll likely get that level along the way through training and osmosis, and it's probably more important to be strong in our core competencies than it is to stretch ourselves to be adequate outside them.

Thought ... can would effectively deal with any short term lack of military/strategy knowledge by ensuring we have a solid advisor?

There are far more competent military minds on this mission than ourselves, to put it mildly. We're here to help, and to encourage, and to inspire, and to advise... but not to command, nor to fight in our own person. We might wind up leading to some degree anyway, as the pious soldiers of the Imperium defer to the Living Saint... but if we're smart, we'll let the war leaders lead the war, while we tend to the souls of the faithful. After all, the war against Chaos is fought as much in hearts and minds as on the battlefield; if we can focus our efforts there and so ensure that no taint or foulness bedevils our forces, that would be a great thing in and of itself.

I just want the army- the Charm talk is beyond my ability to desire to research it right now.

Vote Called.

"An army" wins, as does "Plan: Anti-Daemon". I'll update the effects of the four charms chosen momentarily.

Edit: Done. Feel free to take a look.
