-[X] General of the All-Seeing One - 250 XP
-[X] Transcendent Hero's Meditation - 250 XP

I would vote for veekie but i don ´t like the strangling attitude.

[X] An Army. Sanguis is a world of billions, and there is no shortage of volunteers. You will take a sizeable portion of the defense forces with you, and a substantial number of new recruits who can be trained en route, plus the bulk of the local Sororitas. With their aid you may cast back the darkness, and make the sacrifices you demand of them worthwhile.

I think XP Plan Anti-Daemon is the best with regard to an Army.

Duty calls to cast down the Daemon but duty also calls not to harm those under Ignatius's care through fervor or lack of caution.

I also just in general, have a bit of commentary on this XP spread. I think its a particularly good spread for a diplomatic or more shepherding character like Ignatius because it allows his very presence to be a problem, instead of him walking up and punching a Bloodthirster in the gut which he is just not good at.

More Gandalf than Aragorn or Boromir.

Edit: changed my mind upon realization that we could put points into primary skills.
Just don't think we need the devil-strangling attitude so much as the Burning Gaze. Specifically, being able to see the daemons coming at us from the walls or the like seems like it will be of particular use on a Hulk.

Well, apparently someone else came up with my plan while I was doing it. Great minds I suppose?

This is the same as XP Plan Anti-Daemon, it's just in a different order, so you might want to swap names or something :D

yeah, I was reading through the different skills we have and whatnot while the rest of you were posting. Having not really known what was what before this. Changed since to go with the anti-daemon plan to make sure votes are easy.

Edit: Speaking of what's what. How do the xp for primary skills work? Do those increase as we invest xp into charms/new charms? Do we get xp in them via actions? Or well, in general how do these things work? Nevermind. There was another informational. I'm just an idiot.

Alright so, actually my questions were not answered in the informational post. Can we put exp directly into the primary skills instead of the charms? Because if we can, that seems like it might be a better idea. We could get Dawn to Adept level and still get Transcendent Hero's Meditation and General of the All-Seeing One. And well, just in general Primary Skills seem like a really good place to put XP. Though, it is mildly worrying that we can only get 1 thing to Champion Level, and apparently nothing to Legendary.

@jjffjhjf So we gain exp at the end of arcs and for doing really impressive feats in the story and from omakes, and we have to split that exp between our Skills and Charms.

Generally speaking I see where you're coming from here. Getting Ignatius to the level of being able to be relied on in combat has some significant merit in protecting himself, especially when taken with the charm aimed at making his charges better at fighting and the charm aimed at making him even more of a bastion of self-purity. That's a solid play.

I don't think however it may be for the best for a few reasons. One is that I just generally am pretty taken with all four charms being raised, so keep that in mind. Another is that I am taken with it because I think it fits into the character idea I want to lean into, which is Ignatius as the bastion of the faith. Further Ignatius has spent much of his time as a judge and solver of disputes and in that way fits into the classical nature of kings, like King Solomon. The Wise King, instead of the Conquering King.

Both of those are arguably fundamentally shepherding roles, especially if you keep to the biblical connection and the tales of the Fisher King. They are also roles which imply some kind of august personage which is untouchable by the lesser world. This to me easily fits all four charms being chosen in the plan, more so than raising his ability to fight and conquer while taking charms that help those he commands and his own purity. Especially when by my view a large part of the point of Dawn being raised is making Ignatius safer on the battlefield through experience, and Ruin Abasing Shrug leans into that from the supernatural direction. Which really leans into the shepherd character idea I have for Ignatius.

Guys, we are attacking a space hulk, not conquering multiple worlds. There's no point in taking millions or even hundreds of thousands. An elite force of a few thousand will do just fine.

A sizeable force of Sororitas and the most veteran members of the Fraetis Militia will accompany you on this expedition, enough to fulfill your will and guard your person and not a person more. You cannot willingly drag your flock into the horrors that the warp-spawn will have prepared for you in the future.

Nah, I don't think its just a space hulk here that we're dealing with because of this specific bit.

Of the hungry demons and warp-spawned beasts that follow in its wake, and of the grim carnage they have wrecked upon the worlds accursed enough to fall before their notice.
There's fallout from this thing we also have to deal with, and an Army is just right for that. Plus Space Hulks can be the size of large moons so, yeah, having a lot of hands to explore is somewhat necessary.

What do these charms do?

What do these charms do?
Burning Gaze of the Deliverer is what he used to See and then Manifest the machine spirit of the Revenge. Generally speaking it is the charm for seeing and interacting with the immaterial, which on a space hulk and affected worlds is going to be more than daemons.

General of the All-Seeing One is his "and all my dudes are better than yours because I'm leading" charm. His charges don't suffer from penalties due to leadership or organization.

Transcendent Hero's Meditation is a charm which makes Ignatius automatically aware and passively immune to psychic influence and demonic corruption.

Ruin Abasing Shrug is his sort of august personage damage repelling charm. Currently environmental effects like flames less than a promethium flamer don't hurting, he can walk over shards of glass barefoot unharmed. That kind of thing.

Well, I can definitely understand where you are coming from there. But in that case, how would you feel about a plan that increased Zenith XP by 300, and spent 150 Xp on new charms, one in zenith, the other in dawn, and then 500 more on upgrading both Transcendent Hero's Meditation and Ruin Abasing Shrug? Because I'm looking at it, and trying to make sure that we constantly improve our Primary skills seems like the best investment we can really do. 300 invested in Zenith means that if the next arc gives the same amount of XP (which... I can only guess about, but I have nothing else to judge by) we can invest all of it into Zenith, reaching Expert level, which should be extremely beneficial for us. The 150 in the new charms is as much about keeping down dead XP as anything else, but putting it into a new zenith and dawn charm increases our leadership and combat capabilities, letting us survive longer and lead better. Meanwhile meditation and shrug increase our physical and spiritual resilience, which will likely be important for the coming battles.

How come we aren't getting a crusade? I highly doubt we will be returning to this world for some time, and there will likely be other targets after the space hulk

Hmmmmm. I need to think about that and sleep on it, but its compelling enough for me to scrape together a plan format for you:

[] XP Plan A Point To Be Made
-[] 150 XP in two new Charms, one Zenith and one Dawn
-[] 350 XP into Zenith Primary Skill
-[] 500 XP upgrading Ruin Abasing Shrug and Transcendent Hero's Meditation

How come we aren't getting a crusade? I highly doubt we will be returning to this world for some time, and there will likely be other targets after the space hulk
I'm not going for Crusade because these are just random pilgrims. Unlikely to have any significant martial skill, and likely extremely poorly equipped. Which... pretty much makes them nothing but easy meat for a Space Hulk. Especially one with a lot of daemonic entities. That just doesn't seem like it would go well, at all.

[X] XP Plan A Point To Be Made
-[X] 150 XP in two new Charms, one Zenith and one Dawn
-[X] 350 XP into Zenith Primary Skill
-[X] 500 XP upgrading Ruin Abasing Shrug and Transcendent Hero's Meditation
well, thanks for the plan format. I would have created one on my own, but I will shamelessly take your work and use it, with thanks. Good to know its at least not a terrible plan.

You can indeed put XP into your primary skills, and doing so is the only way that they will rank up over time. New charms may become available through plot developments - vote to spend some time going over battle-plans with the Sororitas and you'll get a vote on a possible war charm to pick up, for example.

Advancing an existing charm will generally improve and expand its capabilities in some worthwhile fashion. Those of you with access to 3rd edition Exalted can generally rely on the chain of prerequisites for the charms whose names I took for Ignatius' sheet as a guide. For example, right now Transcendent Hero's Meditation makes Ignatius passively immune to the corruptive and twisting effects of warp energy. Upgrading it would allow you to also focus your will and force said energy back from a small area around you, like a personal-scale Gellar field. The final level of the charm would probably be the version that lets you extend this immunity to anyone you happen to be leading in prayer to the Emperor or something.

(Specifics subject to change as I see the vote results and double-check my notes and the rulebook)
