Deus Pater (Exalted/40k)

Vote Called.

"An army" wins, as does "Plan: Anti-Daemon". I'll update the effects of the four charms chosen momentarily.

Edit: Done. Feel free to take a look.
Eeeee those look cool! I like how General turned out a lot, but Meditation is my favorite for how thematically awesome it is.

I assume the evolved version still fulfills the functions of its basic state? Because General of the all seeing one would have gotten a pretty significant downgrade otherwise and I'm not sure that was the intent.

Hmm, looking back at it the wording on the new version is perhaps not as clear as it could be. I'll have to tweak it to make the precise effects more obvious.

Yes, upgrading a charm with xp is always an upgrade, and never removes capability, so your Dawn charm still removes all penalties for commanding inexperienced and disorganised troops.

Hmm, alright well. Now that we've spent all that xp on upgrading charms, we're going to need to spend some time doing some training during this arc, or be prepared not to spend much xp on charms at the end of this one. We've got to make sure we continue to improve our primary skills. They are important, and make everything within their purview better. Automatic successes in combat or the like is done via these Primary skills. They are important, so we should really look into spending the xp or time on them.

Might be nice to keep the older "filled up" versions of the charms in a spoiler box, maybe?

Anyway, I'm super stoked for this.

Well, the Emperor's Tarot is a thing that exists, and is reasonably functional as a way to find things out when a trained psyker is using it. If an Inquisitor decides to check on things, they might use that, and potentially get some pretty interesting results from it.

Psyker: ... ... ... *looks at cards*
Inquistor:.... well?
Psyker: Promise not to shoot me first.

Yeah, I could see things going that way. Though an Ordo Malleus doing it themselves, might end up calling the Grey Knights. Which could potentially be very very good for us.

The Grey Knights have significant amounts of experience killing things far more resilient than Ignatius could ever hope to be. They are, however, rather busy with... well its a long list.

There are not more fires than they have buckets.
There are more fires than they have drops of water in their buckets.

At least most of the time between 32k and 41k.

Really? Could ever hope to be? Not so Heir of the Emperor as I thought then.
A large part of it is that Ignatius will never be as great a fighter as, for example, Fulgrim or Jaghatai Khan due to temperament and the nature of his Exaltation being more of a Spiritual Guide or Shepherd and that coloring his charms, and still being a fundamentally human man and having no Primarch bodily modifications.

Also, it's not like the Imperium has a shortage of mighty warriors.

But a man of good heart that can bend the broken Imperial systems (spritual and otherwise) towards justice? Such men are few and far between.

I mean sure. But if we are to be the Heir of the Emperor, I was kinda hoping to eventually get an advanced skill up to Legendary that included Zenith which is the skill that has our toughness charm. Basically giving us the toughness of the Emperor himself. Eventually. Also, we CAN get to those levels, if we simply put the experience in. I'm assuming Advanced skills go to Legendary and those specifically include stuff like the combat skill of Angron, or the Diplomancy of Lorgar.

Well we are drawing inspiration from exalted. Perfect defense charms should be on the table eventually.

Yeah. Heroes who can kick butt are an expendable resource to the Imperium of Man. But being positioned to restart the beating heart of the dying corpse that is the God-Emperor's domain? THAT is Ignatius' true value.

Adamant Skin Technique is a zenith charm. Basically the ultimate form of Ruin Abasing Shrug. So Ignatius should eventually be able to become temporary invincible for at the cost of alot of stamina. Really cool look to tank a X where X is anything from a bullet to an anti-matter cannon ball. Better not to let people know that the invincibility is temporary. Well their jaws are on the ground we should be able to talk to them and convince them the error of their ways.

Ruin Abasing Shrug is the charm that mimics the perfect soak effect from the game. Upgrade it to ultimate and you just flatly won't die from getting hit by an orbital bombardment (though it does have certain drawbacks). The issue is that there are daemons out there which are literally immortal and invulnerable, unharmed in any meaningful fashion by the loss of mortal form, and the Grey Knights have spent ten thousand years killing them anyway.
