Congregation of Despair (Mafia - Second Attempt)

Right, I'm incredibly confused at the moment, so I'll step back and think it over a bit.

Anyway, it seems that there is a fundamental discrepancy between QT and Nani, one of them is certainly a liar, and thus probably scum. Gonna think it over during the night.

Allow me to be more specific: my role pm specifies that they do not.
Ah, good, a lie that I know can't be weird role BS.

Honestly, it's probably for the best if I get lynched today. That'll mean I get proven Town, you get nightkilled, and enough has been revealed that Town is likely going to win. In addition, me being dead means I can't get culted. So I can't have my wincon suddenly change as town looks ready to win :V

Alright, I am going to claim so you vets can sort things out with this information.

I am General Tanabris of the 1st File and I have two powers/abilities or whatever you call them. The first ability to intercept an action meant for my troops (aka lightning rod). The second is a heirloom that is passed down to each General of the 1st File that protects me from vampires and other evil creatures when I am protecting my troops (aka immunity to vampire actions that I redirect to me with my lightning rod).

I used my lightning rod on Nictis last night to protect him from being culted if he wasn't already part of the cult. I thought I visited him, but re-reading the fluff made me realise that I hadn't. I used my lightning rod on him when we were heading back to our rooms and making it so that anyone visiting Nictis would visit me instead. I have checked with Cyricubed and any watching AND tracking actions would be redirected towards me so if QT tracked Nictis and Nami watched Nictis, then they would have both ended up watching me instead from what Cyricubed told me when I inquired further about how my lightning rod power worked.

However, no one visited me last night or at least if they did, I didn't detect them doing so. That is why I know that Nictis wasn't culted during the night because if he had been targeted by that action, it would have been redirected to me so I would have been culted if it wasn't for my second ability protecting from vampires from actions that I redirect to myself. I cannot say what Nictis did last night or if they are already culted, but they did not get culted last night.

My initial theory was that I lightning rod-ed Nictis and QT detected me doing so due to being re-directed. Under that assumption, QT and I being the ones who visited Nictis with QT detecting me with their ability and me figuring out it was QT from their posts in the thread.

Right now, I have no clue what happened so I am lying my cards out on the table to avoid town killing town from me concealing potentially important information.

Okay, looks like mechanics-wise, I still count as visiting. Good thing I asked.

Now see, I would normally go "Oh hey, that explains everything. Me and QT both visited Nictis, redirected to you. He sees you visiting Nictis, I see him visiting you."

But he just said his role PM says his tracking explicitly doesn't count as visiting.
And I saw him visit.
So.

QT claimed they tracked someone and that that someone visited Nictis though. That's not actually possible if that lightning rod thingy is true?

I can clear that. Cyricubed just mentioned in my role PM that mechanically did visit Nictis.

Fixed bad grammar and missing words.

Fuck. That explains it. I was sure ai had just caught out nanimani and nictis as scumbuddies and was trying to trip them up. Fuck fuck fuck.

You said you weren't seen. I saw you.

Also, if you didn't notice, I was calling you as a cult recruiter who visited someone, who must therefore now be cult. So that theory is rather nonsensical.

QT claimed they tracked someone and that that someone visited Nictis though. That's not actually possible if that lightning rod thingy is true?

Cyricubed told me that if someone tracked or watched (those specific terms which I now understand the significance of) the person I used my lightning rod on, the tracker/watcher would be re-directed to me.

Also to clarify things, I did visit Nictis in the night mechanic-wise.

Okay, I used my lighting-rod on Nictis, which would re-direct cult recruitment, watching and tracking actions to me. I have a second ability that protects me from vampires and other creatures of the night when I re-direct their actions to me using my lightning rod ability.

According to what Cyricubed told me about my actions, if QT tracked Nictis and Nani watched Nictis, I would have re-directed them to me unless they had a second ability which countered my lighting rod ability. However, I didn't notice anyone visiting me or watching me or tracking me, but if neither Nami or QT alert their target, I wouldn't have noticed them when they got re-directed to me.

Now see, I would normally go "Oh hey, that explains everything. Me and QT both visited Nictis, redirected to you. He sees you visiting Nictis, I see him visiting you."

Okay, the above is what happened because this:
But he just said his role PM says his tracking explicitly doesn't count as visiting.
And I saw him visit.

is wrong as QT doesn't count as visiting while I do, something which Cyricubed had to clarify for us (or at least me).

Right now, I think that QT, myself and Nami are all town.

Whatever. The conspiracy I thought I was tracking doesn't actually exist, and the doctor I figured I was protecting earlier was a misunderstanding, so time to lay all my cards on the table. Give me a minute.

So, last night, I decided to track Nictis. I got back the result that Nictis visited themself, which convinced me that they were a watcher / Doctor, since those are the only two common roles that self visit. I knew the person I was tracking wasn't the cult recruiter, because who would recruit themself to a cult?

From there, combined with the fact that they didn't go to either of the kills and that neither doctor nor watcher are overly scumlike powers, I was pretty sure Nictis wasn't scum. I then set out to try and muddy the waters on who they had tracked, because both of those power roles are significantly more valuable to town than a tracker.

When Nanimani claimed Watcher, in my eyes, that meant two things. Either Nictis was then the doctor, which would mean that protecting them was critical, or they were lying and Nictis was the watcher. This would mean that either Nanimani was making a risky and stupid play that I could tag Nictis to CC, or they were in communication and Nanimani was claiming Nictis' power role and night results.

1. Nictis is the Doctor and Nanimani the watcher. Ruled our by the fact that Nanimani didn't see Nictis self visiting.
2. Nanimani was lying.
3. Nanimani and Nictis were a scum team.

Best of all, I could differentiate between the two based on whether or not Nictis confirmed or denied Nanimani's claims that no one else visited him.

Then, this reveal happened. It turns out instead, I was redirected to @Oshha , and instead tracked Oshha visiting Nictis, which my power records as Nictis visiting Nictis. @Nanimani is also redirected, catches me visiting Oshha, which they then record as me visiting Nictis and no one else doing so. I feel stupid, and stop playing coy with the info.
