Its a bit more reasonable on mp40 since her outfit is straight up taken from ww2 germany but kinda stupid on SOPMOD because her entire team has armbands and she's an american gun who doesn't wear a uniform associated with any national military.
That is valid, I guess! People have every right to be sensitive to controversial imagery, and if it's like Neo-Nazi stuff... yeah people have every right to be leery of it.
And now to be on topic, I got M99 and IWS-2000. Am I to understand that they're all charge shot characters meant for boss hunting... damn. I gotta get those gems for another echelon.

Hehe... IWS is actually her own crazy, bonkers beast. Her skill trades rate of fire for some truly insane firepower, making her great for bringing down low-number high-armour/hp enemies, especially in upcoming content. Pair with your four best RoF buffing HGs and watch the autocannon roar.
M99 is your more traditional nuke-sniper alongside NTW-20 though, yes.
I'm not really seeing it other than "they both wear black jackets" which is incredibly broad and can apply to many archetypes. You might as well lump in bikers with neo nazi's as well going by that logic. You could argue she would be closer to antifa in that vein with the bandana since both factions based on a quick google search appear to have similar color schemes and dressings. Even then the bandana is a likely most definitely a reference to the archetypal garbs worn by special forces as SOPMOD's style of M4 is associated with SEALs and other special forces similar to M4A1 which is why they both wear it in their artwork. The armband color is meant to give her more secondary colors matching her hair highlights to balance out the black color scheme that dominates her design.
Her jacket is a raincoat because she's in the Anti Rain Team. I feel that the nazi interpretation of her design is reaching quite a bit and is disingenuous. If anything it's an archetypal cyberpunk style oufit.
I'm all for less SS/Nazi references of which this game has none, but let's not try to look for Nazi connotations where there are none.

...I was speaking in reference to Mp40 whom I've seen people on reddit express a like for specifically because her outfit resembles an SS uniform. Because reddit.
Sop-II though yeah I see no Nazi connections there and I don't think anyone was suggesting there was one...?

I assumed you were adding on to Sleepy100's post, as it seemed directed at SOPMODII who also had her armband censored because the devs were worried people would freak out about nazi germany references despite the fact that SOPMOD II's design is distinctly cyberpunk in design. Apologies. Also reddit can be a cesspool sometimes so that's probably why.
That said MP40 wears the outfit of a WWII German soldier, probably an officer or something. SS members and German officers wore similar uniforms from what I gathered, with certain parts of the uniform designating them as being from the SS (buttons/medals/armbands/etc.). I think the only big bad connotation was the red armband which was suggestive of the Nazi party, so I can see why they removed that.
STG44 for example wears something similar to a Waffenrock-style jacket. Although the midsection design is different. She also wears the flag of modern Germany.
Seems to be a mix of modern and classical designs.
MP40 wears what appears to be a heavily stylized version of the Panzer uniform. This uniform was, according to wikipedia, given to artillery and tanker crews, which probably would have used MP40s as personal defense weapons. Her original art also has medals and symbols associated with WWI Pre-Nazi Germany, but those got censored for some reason.
Since I'm already here, G43 also wears what appears to be some embroidered version of the M36 or M43 uniform typically issued to infantry which would be predominantly using rifles.
Anyone who knows more about WWII Germany feel free to correct me, because beyond some of the weapons and their brief history I don't know much beyond what I can quickly google. Running on mobile network right now because my internet is dead so I can't really look around on the flash-heavy sites.
EDIT: Images of the girls are borked. But you can look on your phone and just compare them.

Pretty much. Charge shot rifles excel at blowing up single targets, most notably bosses, but I hear they fall off pretty hard later on so use them as much as you can for now before they become obsolete with the implementation of new boss mechanics. I think later on you can splash them into your AR/SMG squads if you want to experiment with some more generalist echelons that have more of a back row presence. Although, I think at that point you would be better off with self-buffing ROF rifles since your AR/SMG squads can't buff the rifle girls the same way HG/RF squads can.
EDIT:
Crossposting from the fanfic thread...
So I've been on a youtube binge for awhile and this video actually explains very well why Team MICA keeps all the main teams to 4 members.
Oh wow, they are actually using good writing techniques in their stories. I would have never thought that they would be using such an archetype to tell their story. M4A1 seems to be the wind element, AR-15 is the fire, SOPMOD II is the water, and M16 is the earth. 404 squad is a bit harder to pin down though. I think UMP45 is definitely the wind element, but I can't decide what the others represent.
This is pretty refreshing to see good writing mechanics in something that could be so easily passed up as a simple waifu gacha game. This is probably why the 404 Squad and AR Team are so memorable as characters and why I have come to care about each of the girls featured in the side missions. As of chapter 7 it seems like they are switching over to the Trinity instead (RO/SOPMOD II/M16) since M4 and AR15 end up removed from the team with the introduction of RO.
It males more sense if you run thst timing through GMT-8, which seems to be the timezone for where Sunborn are based in.
@Kokurokoki i'm reminded of David Stirling's belief thst 4 is the best size for a patrol: not too small thst its useless, not too large that it's easily detected, can carry enough mission stores, and its the smallest possible tenable unit: 1 person goes down, 2 people carry him whole the last member covers them.
Or in this case, 45 does commandy things, 9 covers, and 416 drsgs G11 around.
That's pretty obvious yes, but this is the English version, and if they are trying to reach an international audience, thinking of timezones seem like a good idea.

GMT -8 actually only exists in Alaska currently.
After November it will be the West Coast of the Americas timezone(daylight savings)
Its a really weird timezone I'm not sure why they picked in the first place.
So ST AR got infected with something, went rogue, and kidnapped M4A1 to trawl her memories. What the fuck.
EDIT:
Is there supposed to be stuff that plays when you kill the boss? Because I won 6-6 by capping the enemy command post via friend echelons slogging through without actually fighting the boss and all of a sudden ST AR is dead? Maybe?

I recommend you play ch 6 emergency mode and ch 4 night mode, if you can, before getting to far into ch 7. 6-4E isn't as bad as it looks, the bosses are optional and only attack you if you stand next to them. Chapter 4N is rather tough though.

Nah, see, what they are doing is using the Pacific Standard Time timezone aka west coast, and simply not adjusting it for daylight savings time. The server clock does not believe in daylights savings time. Admittedly, daylight savings time is one of those things that a fair bit of the world does not like doing.
m/45's got a cute design though, has smoke grenades, and makes tasty baked goods. Which is why she's in one of the lower strength 'sit here and make sure SF doesn't take this position as we move forward' echelons that has the coffee shop/bakery dorm.
>slightly shorter path to the end of 6-4E has 3 15K+ Dragoon stacks to keep you from just sending a Friend Echelon through
I just used them to clear out most of the enemies in the middle then ran my best squad through
Agent goes "I doubt anyone could have survived that"
I ended up in the same situation after Operation Cube. My advice? Between major events, whenever you're grinding up echelons, grind multiple ones at once. That way you can just let one repair as normal while working on the other one. Started with 4 QR's and now I'm back up to 150.
Logistics 0-1 is great for farming quick repairs. Also, don't spend all your quick repairs right away and they'll slowly stack up. I've been stockpiling them since Cube and have over 500.

I think the point is more "gonna be running a fuckload of missions, and it's gonna eat SO MANY REPAIR TICKETS" not that they have none. I have 350~, and I will also probably run out before this event is over.
rate-up is real. Especially since you can farm the GSG exo with a 4HG1RF team and just terminate the mission once you kill the two manticores if it doesn't drop. Took me six attempts total this way.
