Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

This is what I ended up doing and it worked out fine

Yeah it made grinding it much better. I'm currently trying to get a second team up to speed and then I plan to go back and silver/gold rank all the ones I didn't bother doing that with.

Having a single strong team is fine for clearing most missions, but I definitely need a second or maybe a third for gold ranks, and more teams just makes silver much easier.

Have gold-ranked everything in C1-3 normal and emergency, and yah, you 100% need 3 teams for gold ranks because the maps get a lot larger very fast.

I find that large maps are actually easier to gold rank than small maps actually. The larger a map is the more turns they give you to get the kills, so you can actually take the time to resupply, while if a map is smaller the turn limits can get extremely strict.

You can actually manually resupply; just step on a helipad, tap the squad, tap the yellow Resupply button, and then carry on.

I've had the trouble that for the maps where you need to wait several turns to spawn in enough enemies - when there's only 12 on the map but you need to kill 16 for s-rank - you totally need to have enough squads spread over the map strong enough to clear 2+ enemy squads per round to get them off the heliports so SF reinforcements can spawn in.

incidentally this is where i was 2 weeks ago when just starting out:

This is where I am today, 2 weeks later:

I'm going to admit that I seriously have no clue what guns count as DPS or tanks or stuff so like who should I put in the front to receive bullets in the face and who shoulld I put in the back?

Add to this the fact that both dropping a support echelon, and swapping the positions of adjacent echelons is free, so you can kind of extend your reach with a little planning, and shuffles echelons through a helipad more quickly via swapping.

there's the guides linked in the thread so far, but really if you start playing around in the formations you'll start to pick it up. Generally ARs go to the back, and SMGs go to the front, because AR buff tiles are in front of them and SMG buff tiles are behind them, and SMGs come in two flavors: dodgetanks like UMP sisters, or tanks like Thompson and MP5 (who is kinda half-half who can dodge and can also tank). Arrangement depends on the girls you use and their specific buff tile patterns.

So there's one thing about enhancing characters that I don't quite get, specifically in regards to using capsules. Sometimes when all but one stat is maxed out and you put capsules into enhancing a character, the one remaining stat goes up by 1 per capsule, but then eventually it starts jumping up by 3-4 points per and I don't quite get what causes the change.

So there are 2 parts to it
1 is that parts of capped stats go to uncapped stats with capsules. It takes a couple for it to take effect though.
2 is that there is a random amount of capsules for each doll that starts doubling/tripling/quadrupling the stats gained.

Oh yes. OH YES. This is excellent news.

Might want to save doping up your t-dolls for for use two weeks later since there's a chain of quests in the current event that requires you to use up to 30 capsules.

That's good to know. I'll make sure to get as many as I can on the days where capsules are available and save them for that time. I'm at the point where my main AR team (3 ARs including M4A1 and 2 SMGs) are now all in the mid 60's, with one about to hit 70. Once I dummy link all of them that'll be a major boost. I still have at least one team on constant ammo duty though and it's not actually enough to keep up at all if I want to grind. I'll need to get more echelon slots once I save up enough gems so I can dedicate them to getting me supplies. Also I sent you a friend request @Who?

I had forgotten about the increasing core costs for dummy linking. It's going to be a long long time before I finish dummy linking my AR team to 4x, given I need well over 100 more cores (and to finish leveling them). But well, given my MG team and AR/RF team are all at 3x as well I don't think I need them for anything pressing at the moment. I guess I could try to bring up my RF team to at least 30 each and 3x all of them as well, but I think I'd be better served strengthening a single team or two as much as I can so I can start doing the 3rd tier simulation missions faster.

Edit- It's occuring to me that I've basically gone completely against @GilliamYaeger 's guide with my 1st echelon. It has no one below 4*s right now. FAL/M4A1/SOPMOD/UMP9/Thompson and I'm considering replacing Thompson with the UMP45 I built yesterday after I combat report her up to 30, and putting Thompson into one of my other teams or as a logistics leader.

I think the game is trying to tell me to use HGs more- doing the 4x30 builds for the dailies, and the second pair of builds goes and gives me 2 grizzlys, making it 4 copies of her I have in total now

Btw, event guide for the current event on EN servers:

Quoting this in case it was missed. Looking at the future goals for the event it seems that while a skill training goal shows up in phase 2, phase 3 has skill data use goals which is a bit of a gotcha if you used up your stash trying to meet the 10 skill trainings goal. Good thing that was posted otherwise planning ahead for maximizing what you get out of the event would be nearly impossible. Also it looks like I really need to level up a rifle echelon for midnight battles so I can work my up to 2-4 to unlock equipment calibration, my MG echelon gets too tied up on the bullet sponge enemies and ignores the rifles tearing apart my smgs in the meanwhile.

Anyone know when batteries show up in friend dorms? I'm trying to do the collect five friend batteries goal but I there aren't any currently available and I have no idea when to next check.

Friend batteries pop up 45 minutes from this post and 12 hours and 45 minutes from this post. Or 3 AM and 3 PM UTC -8

@Eopia to be fair, replacing Thompson with UMP45 and coring the hell out of UMP45 is perfectly acceptable to do, because UMP45 is one of the best dodgetank SMGs in the game, even before her special equip exoskeleton, and she tosses smoke within 1 second, so that slow/crowd control is pretty useful.

A 3 AR team with UMP45 and UMP9 as your front two SMGs is a generalist team that can fight anything and the UMP sisters split enemy focus and are dodgetank enough to dance through fire that would rekt one of them.
