Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

Out of curiosity, should I have T-Dolls under construction at all times? Also, should I be allocating the resources in any particular pattern?
Keep 4 construction contracts in reserve to do the daily missions. There are different recipies for what you want.

130/130/130/130 is general pistol construction.

430/430/430/430 is the general-purpose, but no pistols.
430/430/430/230 is the less parts-intensive version of the above, giving out mix of SMGs, RFs, and ARs

97/404/404/97 is the meme recipie, though I find this and 130/430/430/130 is a very AR-focused recipie.
730/630/630/430 is the recipie for when you want to go broke get a MG.

Shotguns are *not* available from normal construction, only when you get Large Construction can you get them.

So yeah, don't overdo construction early on that you run out of resources. My personal rule of thumb is keep above 1000 for all resources.

Started screwing around with the formation system. Assault Rifle + SMG seems to be the way to go against all nonarmored foes.

The game is surprisingly deep. Tactical map considerations are vital to push for gold and silver reasons rankings. In comparison resource usage send to be a secondary concern at the rate of daily missions.

(I say that but I basically dumped all my resources in the beginning into building 430 templates until I didn't even have enough MREs to finish chapter 1 :V)

Eyup. 3xAR 2xSMG will mulch through normal enemies.

For Armored enemies, bring a RF or MG, though if you are fighting High-dodge enemies then bring a grenadier. But don't neglect your HGs, since you need them to fight on Night maps.

A note to the new players, don't be fooled by M2HB's 3* rarity. She's actually kinda rare in construction (at least in my experience), and more importantly, she is one of the best, if not the absolute best MGs in game, with high DPS, the highest armor pen, and her skill is a passive damage boost to herself.

Generally I tended to only build 3 T-Dolls a day for the quest reward. IMO you only want to spam construction when they have events that boost the 4* and 5* rates. Maybe I was lucksack, but I managed to get 9A-91, FAL, and HK416 without much drama back in the day when I played on CN.

Anyone know the best way to get MREs? I'm good on the others (game seems to throw Manpower at you like candy especially) but my rations are steadily trickling away and there's not a whole lot of options to claw them back. Logistics missions give practically pittance.

In other news, first 5* \o\. SMG, didn't see that one coming. Though now I have to grind her up from level 1 to work with my main teams in the 20s *despairing gargle noises*

Anyone know what the Combat Data sim does? I get it gives you data items but what are those even used for exactly?

Ditto Dorms. You get helper messages on the load screens talking about Comfort and Batteries and I haven't seen those play into anything basically ever.

Coming up on 380 gems: is it better to snag an extra repair slot or keep saving for a fifth Echelon?

Combat Data gives you combat data which are used for skill upgrades. There are three levels that increase in difficulty, higher skill upgrades uses combat data of the higher level.

Dorms give you batteries which are generated over time and can be harvested in certain times of the day (see top left corner), and those are used to upgrade Data Room, which is used to store and convert Surplus (universal) XP, to battle reports that can be given to girls to level them up without combat. It is also used to upgrade fairy rooms later in the game, so you shouldn't worry about this right now.

I advise you to save diamonds and prioritize girl slots, equip slots, echelons, and dorm rooms.

Honestly, rations will always be your main 'crunched' resource, with ammo coming 2nd. Can really say too much on how to get more beyond just stockpiling them - I remember a relatively early logistic being 6 hours with a payout of roughly 600 MREs. But yeah, I'd say you'd have to consciously limit MRE usage.

Who? Vector or Suomi? Either are good, but Vector has an Area of Effect Damage over Time special that kills swarms and high-dodge enemies, while if Suomi's skill is trained up she can dodgetank like a god.

To upgrade skills, which usually involve dropping cooldowns, increasing duration, increasing multipliers, etc.

Fifth Echelon. Only things you want to buy is Echelon Limit increase, Barracks slots, Equipment Slots and Dorm Rooms.

Hm, seem to be having a problem dragging for the Formation tutorial. I'm using Memu on a laptop, in case that helps.

Duly noted :Sa

(and yeah those six hours missions are pretty much the 'fuck off and go to bed' missions aren't they...)

Vector!

H-Honestly I haven't had much trouble slaughtering even 1000CR+ swarmers, though having said that both my high level teams have HMGs who are probably responsible for that. Vector's at like ~14 whilst the main teams are ~27s so she's a while away from being my goto SMG.

Regarding Echelon Limit / Barracks slots... which is which? I assume one is 'more Echelon's and there's what looks like a locked 6th slot in every Echelon but it doesn't do anything when clicked so I've no idea what that's for.

Or is Barracks Slots just 'have >100 gunpeople'?

Duly noted (wish there was a way to queue repairs so I didn't have to handhold the damn thing if I had a few heavy damage and then a swathe of 'lightly damaged and quick to fix' to run through the single remaining slot...)

Check the program shortcuts? I'm using Nox and can ctrl+mousewheel to drag zoom here.

By barracks slot, I mean the maximum amount of gunpeople you can have. Because like Kancolle, 100 slots will eventually be not enough.

Echelon limit is the max number of deployable squads you have, and is sequencial. First buy is 480 gems, every next buy is 880. Having 6 would do, with 4 on logistics and 2 on autobattle.

EDIT: And yes, the 6hr logistic is the before you go to sleep logistics.

IIRC in the tutorial you have to explicitly drag her to the place indicated rather than anywhere generally (I think it wants you to swap position with another unit in the echelon if I'm remembering correctly?)
Yeah, that's the problem I'm having. Nothing seems to happen when I *do* drag her to the place indicated. Not really what's causing the problem.

Edit: Oh, restarting Memu fixed it.

Actually, now that I think about it, I should mention that like Kancolle's regen, you do get +3/+3/+3/+1 per minute regen of the 4 resources, but only until it hits the soft cap dictated by your commander level.

To check, just tap your commander level on the main screen. Your profile should pop up and with it your current regen cap.

If you want to be absolutely efficent in resource gain then go under that cap to have the resource regen in effect.

*gross sobbing*

On a related note, do not fight the boss in ep 2. "CR 2000 mission they said". Boss is 2800...
Yeah Executioner's title is... accurate. First attempt barely scratched her and left me with two gunpeople on > 1 hour repair times. Second attempt was 'well fuck that then' and capping her out with encirclement. Which amusingly also gets you the Gold medal for it. It's a three CR~2000 Echelon job though; two to do the encircle cap, one to hold the south route to prevent infinite enemy hordes capping out you.

Man that stage is going to be an amazing grinding spot once I've got some more levels.
...And have finished gluing everyone back together again.

I am still incredibly bummed that mai raifuru isn't included so far, but being pre-registered, I'd still consider myself blessed. Extra resources and BAR help so much to get you off the ground.

I managed to beat it on my first try, but yeah, that mission is pretty noticeable in difficulty buff. Although, I'd say the infinitely spawning reinforcements were more of an issue for me that the Boss. Death of a thousand cuts and all.

...Of course, I did almost plaster Executioner apart on my first encounter; were it not for Sten and M14 giving way, my 1st Squad would have eaten her for breakfast. Unfortunately, I couldn't kill her fast enough, and she just walked off the field. Yeah, my BAR-san Squad is bloodthirsty.

........And then Executioner walked into my NTW* sniper squad anyway. Omae wa mo shinde iru :V

If God didn't want bosses to die, he wouldn't have created the NTW. Meh against mobs, but hits like a freight train against anything vaguely bigger.

Oh, almost forgot: My ID code is 17299

That's what the EXP Combat sim is for. But yes, it was also painful for me at first. Otoh keeping and leveling M4A1 pays off because she gets very good later on, what with buffing ARs and her skill increasing own damage.

Also later once you have more free exp, go to the Dorm and then the Data Room and have Kalina make reports. Then, in the room, you can give the floppy disks as gifts to your T-Dolls. Each floppy is 3000 EXP. Later in the game, when you're swimming in floppies (I had i think 400 odd floppies on CN) these allow you to quickly level new girls.
