"Kenta!" I cry, putting as much emotion as I can into the part from the cockpit of my fighter. Sometimes I have to be in awe of movie mages; the flames spreading across my airship are incredibly real as it 'goes down'.
Marao comes over the radio, a touch of static thrown in. "I'm sorry, Asoka," the speaker spits out, Marao's voice laced with melancholy. "Helmsman, drop us on the base. We're taking them with us."
"Aaaand, cut!" says the producer.
I don't feel especially happy with the story they've filmed, but I pushed as far as I felt comfortable with. The producer seems to have a 'vision' or whatever these movie people call it, but I don't especially trust it, and the guy's yesman of an aide isn't helping my opinion one bit. I guess I'll find out how it did in box.

The 20% offer may have gotten us in the tail, not that Marao will say so to my face. Fire Falling got mixed reviews with the critics, and like the big papers reported, it ended up being something of a cult classic, with a lot of fans liking the movie, but not much else. Still, the 20% we got might still be better than any up-front contract, with time.

Marao came to me after we'd balanced our books with a fighter brochure with that look on his face. "Now, 'Tori, don't shoot me down right away, but I've been shopping around..." he starts, handing me the pamphlet with a few images and articles circled.
Like any good fly-girl, my reaction to a high-end fighter is like most girls' reaction to a one-pound diamond ring. Marao's favorite, ISI's brand new Hisso X1, with integrated rockets and a new lightweight alloy ablation, was very high end...
[] Let Marao have his baby. (Spends 5,000ç on Island Skies Industries' Hisso X1, an Armor 3, Weapons 4, Speed 2 Fighter, modified for the Portable Special Rule)
[] This is your baby now! (Spends 5,000ç on Island Skies Industries' Hisso X1, an Armor 3, Weapons 4, Speed 2 Fighter, modified for the Portable Special Rule)
[] But I have a business to run with that money, Marao! (Disallow the purchase and save it for a later date; Marao continues to use his Zentao 3)
I've got a few new requests sitting on my table, and if I can get one these out of the way, I can finally crack open the air market catalogue I've been hoping to browse. (Ace Fighter Market, Airship Market, and Local Markets unlocked next turn)
[] Some foreign movie buffs have mistaken my ship for a movie-themed tour service. They pay is poor, but it's not like anything can go wrong. (--Risks, Dull, Net 1,000ç)
[] Marao convinced his former base commander to hire us on to handle a controlled skies patrol above Asako. The pay's not especially great, but low-risk security isn't a popular job. (-Risks, Military Contract, Net 1,500ç)
[] A particularly troublesome corsair has made himself a thorn in the side of the IAMC, and a concerted investigation has finally revealed his port of call, on mountainous Sogo Isle southwest of Asako. Expect military help. (+Risks, Military Contract, Net 3,500ç)
[] Special - My radio officer picked up a distress broadcast coming from the island just north of Asako. I've given the all-ahead full order, and prepped the squadron for a scramble. (???)
