Clear Skies, Captain

And Mermaids never drown.
Checkmate Fae!:p

C'mon. How often do we ever get to play a merfolk quest?
Both Fae and Merfolk are under represented in quests, though at least both are female characters so that is a bit different from normal. Though there is a Might and Magic quest where we are an ocean nymph which is kind of close.

You sure about that?:p

Besides, characters with legs are even more common. I want to try out something that would have a little more variety in it's appearance besides just looking like a prettier human.

Also what's wrong with playing merchant? East Indian Trading Company had it good.;)

Well that might be a situation with the setting requiring a certain gender, also never really followed those so I don't think of them.

Well, just to be sure:
@Powerofmind while most of the races are pretty self explanatory (you would have probably said something if Dwarves and Elves for example were different than normal),
How do the Fae and Mermaids look in this world? There are a lot of very different possible interpretations for both (little faries VS fair folk, classic half fish half human VS a fishman, etc.)

Probably won't change my vote, but it would be nice to know.

But you can't tell me that Ariel wouldn't be a great Steampunk Trader,

Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?

I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I've got twenty!

But who cares?
No big deal
I want more~

What's wrong with a little tongue-in-cheek humor?:p

Merfolk have legs, silly.

Fae are pretty varied, but their main features are generally wings, ridiculous technicolor hair, and being on the thin, almost gangly side, regardless of exactly which kind they are. Your character would likely be a Sylph.

Merfolk have legs, they just also have fins and gills in a number of places, and are also predominantly blue or green. They're semi-amphibious, and can manage on land, but they need to take in a lot of water if they do.

Beginnings
Game Start!

I can't help but feel especially proud as The Spring Storm leaves berthing for the first time, myself in the command deck. She's a fine airship, and Marao keeps complaining that she'd better be, because the two of us shelled out more than 90% of our contract money to have her. He can't complain though, from his spot next to me at the fore display windows.

Marao and I put out some feelers when the engineers said The Spring Storm was almost ready, so as we pull out of berthing, we're straight off to our Maiden Voyage.

[] Some club of rich socialites want to take a month-long cruise with The Nemean and his lover, Miss Skyfire. The crew will have to bunk in the upper chambers, and I'll have to play a role with Marao for a bit, but the agreed-upon sum is pretty good. (---Risks, -Supplies, -Morale, Net 4,000ç)
[] Our former employers contacted us about renting The Spring Storm, and us, out for a third installment of Fire in the Sky. The crew will probably get temporary leave so the producers can bring on their actors to handle the ship on-camera. It sounds fun, but I always figured things were wrapped up pretty nice with Kenta and Asoka. (--Risks, Leave Event, Net ???ç: Royalty-based contract)
[] Marao convinced his former base commander to hire us on to handle a controlled skies patrol above Asako. The pay's not especially great, but low-risk security isn't a popular job. (-Risks, Military Contract, Net 1,500ç)
[] A trade startup, Depth's Bounty, is looking for an escort to Abdo. A lot of local pirate activity implies they've got informants in air traffic, so you've silently agreed to fly out ahead of them on a feigned sortie to screen for trouble. (+Risk, Likely Combat, Net 2,000ç and bounties)

[NOTES: There is always a possibility of a Cedii bonus based on how well you did on the mission. Risk measures the likely strength of possible enemies compared to you.]
