Civilization Quest

@Bobalo18
Are we going to eventually get more civic options? I mean, for example, research better farming techniques, get better irrigation, start to turn our villages into an actual city, or maybe just walled towns, research sanitation, and so on.

Otherwise, my preliminary vote.

[X] Train Camel Archers: Normally, the practice of Camel riding and archery is a luxury available only to the most upper echelons of society. However, you have suggested that perhaps the training should be made available to veterans of all classes.

[X] Explore (South): Your life was saved by exploration. The Cisse tribe might be saved by it as well. On the other hand, exploration is dangerous, and very few people seem in the mood to fight right now (You will not be completely undefended if you choose this action)

[X] Send gifts to the other tribes. Now that you are large, the other tribes have banded together under an alliance of their own. A gift to each tribe would make you seem like less of a monster to them, which is always good

[X]Teach the Hooru how to read: It would be beneficial for all of the movers and shakers of society to know how to read important texts. In order to make this dream come true, you must have your trusted advisors go to the houses of known Hooru and teach them. It will be a long and arduous process but you hope it will lay the foundation of knowledge for your people in the centuries to come. (Will complete this turn if selected)

[X]Create an early library: Some of your advisors have noted the disorganization of your texts. Perhaps you could have your scribes copy the texts you do have and place the copies in a sort of storehouse for books? Of course, the storehouse would be guarded like all of your other storehouses.

[X](Continue) Establish a Shadow group: Some of the people who did so well in hiding your preparations these past two years have suggested that you make a cabal of "shadows" that would assist in your rule. It would take some time to train its members though (Will complete this turn if selected).

[X]Marriage : In order to reinforce your leadership, it would be advisable to marry another one of your councilman's daughters. That way, you would be looked at as a powerful and influential individual. Which you are, but an official proclamation of it wouldn't hurt. Please specify whether your new wife shall be Soninke or Berber

Any chance you can put your vote in the same format as everyone else? It makes running the vote tally program much easier. Also, you didn't specify whether you wanted a Berber or Soninke wife.

We do need a wife, and we also need to keep them from ganging up on us. Giving gifts only go so far before we just start looking weak, better to form closer bonds with at least one of our competitors.

[X] Teach the Hooru how to read

Once they can read, we can start writing the laws down for all.

[X] Create an early library

Probably should store the texts we have before they're lost to weather or the like.

[X] (Continue) Establish a Shadow group

Finish It

[X] Marriage
-[X] Soninke

We need a wife, and getting two in one turn is easier on family relations than getting them one after another. Go polygamy!

Only if there is one we think is very promising, or maybe related to the family of our first wife? If not, I'm fine with any of the other options (I'd prefer a Sonike wife I think)

I think the we need to be very careful about marrying.

Our first wife is incapacitated and we might need to make sure our non-allied wife's tribe is balanced out by another from the Soninke. Public perception and popularity-wise, it matters.

Things might not go down good at home if we end up choosing a Berber wife as the third wife and as a way to deal with someone counted as a foreigner.

In that case , I think we should have another wife from the Soninke, one from the Kagaro, and then one from the Berbers.

Two wives from home and whom we can trust, and another for diplomacy with the strongest non-allied tribe.

I'm hoping their belligerent enough that they reject that marriage offer so we can send our spies to infiltrate them.

I don't really mind where we take the wife from, berber or soninke. Both have positives and negative in my mind, so they kind of balance each other out. I'm also pretty ambivalent about whether the other tribe accepts our marriage proposal, because if they do, it give us a connection to another tribe, and if they don't, it gives us an excuse to align our tribe against theirs, and we vastly out-number them.

As an aside, how old are we now?
We may want to adopt a promising kid next turn, start raising our successor. Or maybe grab that promising general and formally adopt him as our heir.

I think I'd rather adopt that general kid as our successor, he seems capable enough already, he just needs that political and military experience that we can teach to him.

And maybe then we can have the elders confirm him formally.

Maybe instead of going directly to appointing him our successor, we could appoint him an adviser, then use him as our right hand for a few years, teach him the ropes. Make it known to the council that he is to be appointed if we die unexpectedly, but I think appointing an heir while we are still strong may lead to conflict.

Yes, you are going to get more civic options. One of my greatest weaknesses in creating history however, is the realization that things take time. Thus, I'm more likely to err on the side of caution when dealing with when to introduce new options. Apologies.

Here is My Opinion on History: So call Great men they so have no place in history but how Great men like Alexander and Caesar greatly the geopolitics of the ancient world, So Said great men have no place in history is as stupid to said that history all about great men, History about Humanity as whole including great man.

Now that Off my chest because would they is no such as great man(I do use man to both male and female in this context) Why Russia right now if didn't have Catherine the Great rule and era.

So What do think on my opinion

I would say Genghis Khan would like to have a talk with you.
And so would Philip the II.
What... Do mean by that, I was great men in general just Caesar and Alexander as example. Because The Idea of great people were get shafted by this new historian want get rid of history want said there is no such as great people. When they are clearly great people have walk on the earth.

What did you think on what i just said to have better understand becaue right now because I was supporting side on people like You and I talk about.

Hmm, when I usually think of history, I usually think of the Greats we have in history. I like to think as of them as the people we inspire ourselves everyday to be like, for someday we may surpass them in their achievements in history.

Less Great People and more right person, right time, right place. Sure, the right person needs a certain amount of talent(and often the attitude to tell everyone else to fuck off), but without the environment they'd be only another minor disruptive factor, random hoodlum, or simply never got the necessary formative experiences.
