This is rather troublesome as the Void Dragon is very warp-resistant so our specialty probably won't work so well on it...
For longer-term things we should focus on research that will help with the great crusade's explorator fleets as having more influence over them will be our best shot at some of the best goodies, for tech-heresy our obvious focus should be on getting our hands in any eldar psytech as well as trying to make machine spirits into safe-AI.
If we play our cards right we can get AI, help with the webway project and maybe even save Magnus from himself!
Also I doubt we can avoid fighting the navigator houses but if we have an alternative early enough maybe we can convince emps or malcador to shield us... though neither of them like others messing with the warp so it might be risky...
Oh no, you aren't dealing with the Void Dragon for a long time, it's a "Depth: Core" conquest.
You will be dealing with the remaining "Surface" and the majority of "Depth: Crust" Empyrean threats.
You guys are nowhere near having the Ability, Power (Practical and Political), Resources, and Artifacts to do so.
Also, void dragon is already sealed with old Big E powers and in prison made by fucking Vaul, the most likely task we will get is conservation of said prison and preventing sabotage

Where did you get that the prison was made by Vaul? There's definitely some involvement between the two (Blackstone Fortresses/Talismans of Caul), but my understanding is that the references to Mars as 'the Vaul-Moon' essentially just mean it is a forge world.
[X] Plan: The Foundation
I don't like doing research before we have a facility made, which the current plan does.

It actually helps that Vaul also had a hand at making the prison.
This is a Xeno God of Technology, defeated and imprisoned by a collaboration of a Xeno God of Craftsmanship and the widely accepted physical manifestation of the Human God of Machines.
Let that idea settle, then think about what would happen if this was know.

[X] Plan: Research is holy yes, but fuck chaos is holier

Looks like we managed to pass our first roll gang, how about we actually finish our facility next turn so that we don't blow ourselves up in case we fuck up a Research roll yeah?
Also hoping we'll be helping cleanse Mars soon, maybe get started next turn with our remaining AP (the other two go towards the facility).
Considering we're starting so early in the timeline, I'm hoping maybe we can push for finding STCs before they were corrupted or destroyed in canon. There's so many possibilities for preserving STCs, ancient DAOT ruins, etc with these wards, and more importantly keeping them out of enemy hands.
Just thinking of finding the Castigator titan, or the Panacea, makes my inner tech nerd drool.

Admittedly, it is a semi-popular theory that wasn't confirmed in canon, but most things point to it.
Mars is not tombworld which means Void Dragon wasn't put there by the Necrons (before it broke free and fought big E in M2~)
before Aeldari War in Heaven (the one where Khaine killed Eldaneash, not Old Ones vs C'tan) Aeldari Pantheon could directly interact with Materium
Aeldari Dominion was the shield of the galaxy (after Krorks devolved and while necrons were napping)
Vaul was master architect and crafter, as well as a determined warrior and enemy of the Mag'ladroth and last known being who fought against him (imperial inquisitor thinking that Eldar god failed is not reliable opinion)
Article:
Having gained a respite through the forging of the Iron Knights, the Eldar God of the Forge, Vaul, created the Talismans of Vaul (the Blackstone Fortresses, as they are known to the Imperium). These too were powered by the souls of Eldar seers, and were used by Vaul to attack the Void Dragon directly.[1][3] Here the Eldar legend ends, and there is little evidence as to the outcome, other than the opinion of Inquisitor Horst, which was that the attack had failed
This all points out to him shattering the Void dragon and sealing him, because killing C'tan is not easy and not worth it.
The dimly lit chamber deep beneath the rust-red surface of Mars hummed with latent power. The ancient plasteel walls pulsed faintly with the sigils of the Machine God. Magos Ætheric Vehlaris-00302, draped in the dark, inscribed robes of his order, stood motionless. Before him, a colossal figure loomed: Magos Militant Gregorius-63, his heavy augmented form practically a walking fortress, wreathed in a shifting haze of red-lit mechandrites. An embodied the militant side of the Mechanicum, their every movement a testament to precision and control.
Vehlaris--00302's heart—a thumping mass of synthetic blood pumps and wire—thrummed in anticipation. This was the moment that would decide whether the sacred Wards of his faction would be integrated into Mars' war doctrine, a new pillar of defense and offense for the Mechanicum. But first, he had to prove himself worthy to the Magos Militant.
"State your purpose," rumbled Gregorius-63, its vox-comm layered with static.
"I am Magos Ætheric Vehlaris-00302. By the Machine God's will, I seek to join the ranks of the Magos Militant. To carry the Wards of our order into battle, to defend Mars, and to sanctify its sacred machinery in war."
"Prove it," Gregorius-63 said in Techna-Lingua. "Show us that you understand war. Show us that your knowledge is not limited to the Empyrian Engiseers, but worthy of Mars."
And then before I could react, the floor fell away. I fell in the dark till I saw a platform.
*Thunk*
As soon as I landed, I received Gregorius-63 instructions through the Noosphere.
"Initiation starts now."

Vehlaris bowed his head slightly, his processors still buzzing with the remnants of the battle. A trashed Skitarii squad and destroyed Servo-Skulls lay around him.
A hidden gate opened. He prepared for the next trial.
"You will be trained in the ways of war," Gregorius-63 stated. "Your knowledge of the Empyrean is vast, but war is a crucible that burns even the strongest iron. But fear not, Magos Ætheric. The Machine God is with you. Your Wards will find a place within Mars' legions. You will walk the path of iron and fire."
Vehlaris refocused.
The initiation had only just begun. Green - New Action Yellow - Action Updates Red - Urgent Action
You Have 3 [Three] Actions. [ ] [General] Establish an Empyric Research Station (1/3)
The faction could request the construction of a facility properly dedicated to Warp research, isolated from the rest of Mars to prevent potential catastrophic consequences. Within, experiments could be conducted on Warp entities, Warp phenomena, and even heretical technologies, testing the limits of the Wards' protective abilities.
[ ] [General] Forge Alliances (Who?)
Now that our faction has the respect of Mars' other Tech-Priests, the opportunity to forge alliances with influential Mechanicum factions presents itself.
[ ] [Military] Conquering the Terrors Beneath Mars
By the Will of the Machine God. Into the Depths of Mars.
[ ] [Military] Create Checkpoints
We will retake the quarantined zones, and the possibility of an outbreak is all too possible. Prepare for them.
[ ] [Military] Construct the Vaults
We will need to put somewhere the threats you can't eliminate, be it because the technology is too valuable, or because they can't be put down.
[ ] [Research] Enhance the Wards' Capabilities Currently, the Wards are powerful, but they are also fragile and limited in scope. Further research could yield advancements in durability, range, and flexibility.
[ ] [Research] The Question of the Machine Soul
The Wards, as they stand, protect the spiritual aspect of the sacred Machine that reside within the vast array of Mechanicum technology. With the Magi Ætheric possessing this groundbreaking ability, the potential for greater communion with the Machine Spirit becomes tantalizingly within reach.

His opinion on the MC probably depends on what else we developing regarding Warp tech, but I'd suspect he'd be broadly supportive of Wards, although he may have concerns about promoting a Warp "superstition", the practical benefits and focus on defence against Immaterium influence probably outweighs any such misgivings, especially in the context of everything else he needs the Mechanicus on-side for.
Not to mention, depending on how consolidated our dominion/control/authority is over Warp-related tech, particularly fundamentals of FTL travel like Warp Drives/Engines and Gellar Fields, we're quite possibly the most essential Mechanicus faction for the Great Crusade and Imperium's success, which means we probably have a much stronger negotiating position and can get a much broader remit to operate within relative to any other Mechanicus faction.
