@Algernonab

Just to be clear, we are going with Option 2, right? Because I distinctly remember saying that I wanted to stick with Faron if we went with Option 3.

And? I don't remember you saying the we needed a player on a specific country, just a major one.

I want a player on Hyrule, Holodrum, Termina, and Labrynna. Those four countries at a bare minimum. Those countries are relatively balanced with one another and I think would make for an interesting game considering their differing ideologies.

And once again, I'm asking you, are we doing Option 2? Because that's what it sounds like to me.

This wouldn't work with Lanayru's overall opinion of the monarchy. Dorephan knows Link and Zelda personally from before the Calamity, so it doesn't seem likely that he would break off and form his own nation separate from Hyrule.
Yeah. Also, I was going EXTREME loyalist in the face of last time's immediate breakaway Faron

Well, considering what a sorry state Hyrule is in at the moment, maybe it's less of a vassal-ship and more of a close alliance? I sort of feel like being a vassal implies inferiority.

My main issue with this is that if Lanayru is free from Hyrule, that would imply that all of its former vassals are free from Hyrule, since Lanayru is the vassal-state that would have the best relationship with the Hyrule Dynasty. I'm trying to keep things relatively simple at the start, and doing this would change the nation count from 7 to 14.

Ah, well then. That makes sense. Have Lanayru be unusually active/powerful for a vassal?
