Breath of the Wild: The Aftermath of the Calamity (CK2 MP Strategy)

What day of the week do you think that turns should begin/end?

Personally I would say that all the leaders have been blessed to remember everything that happened before the Ocarina was used to change it. So that it can't really be used in a battle or duel.

But thats up to the big man.

I'm gonna cross this bridge when I come to it.

Here's a general question for you guys: Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we should incorporate trait acquisition during childhood? I want to make it so that you guys have some agency in your children's development so that it's not completely random what traits they get.

This is less about genetic traits (as those should be random) and more about educational traits as well as the traits you could give them throughout parenting them.

Hmm... I think that depends on a few different factors. First off, how much agency do the children have themselves? Are they predisposed to do things based on traits they already have? And if so, what does a child with no traits at all do?

Secondly, how does education work? Is it the same as CK2, where they're assigned an educator and their traits change based on the traits they have/don't share? Would a child given an educator that's opposed to traits they already have be predisposed to comply or resist?

Personally, the only suggestion I can offer is this: every turn, or whenever they gain a trait, give them a trait based on what they are doing, what they already have, and who is involved in their lives. For example, if they have no traits and are totally ignored, they might gain a bad trait like slothful or gluttonous. Conversely, if they are given strict education, they might gain Diligent or Stressed. Things like that; I personally like it when games do things based on logical conclusions.

Welp, it was pretty convoluted, but I think I have something. See the new Raising a Child section in the Mechanics Google Doc.

Hey, all, I'm going to add a rule where, if you want to, you can ask your wife and of-age children (at least 16) to perform 2 actions on their own as if they were advisors (if they are not advisors already). See the Turn Mechanics section for more info.

@Algernonab
Are you still taking applications? If so I would like to put in a claim towards Confederation of Eldin and the Tribe of the Gerudo.
Also are you giving every race a normal human lifespan as some of them have very long life spans compared to humans.

Yes, I am still taking claims. Which of the two would you prefer to play as?

If you would like to start as a major power rather than a minor/vassal power, Spiritia is still open for players to claim.

Hello, all, this is just a heads-up: The threadmark for Turn 1 will be going up tomorrow, as I will be going away this weekend and I will not have access to my computer.

A reminder that if you have not completed your character sheets and sent them to me, please get that done. I require them in order to be able to calculate the success of your actions.

Shit, do we need to present you with a completed list of actions? Use up all 3 of our actions, plus those of our advisors?

Yes, but I do not need it until Turn 1 ends. So you have all of this coming week to get it to me (though I would prefer to get it earlier in the week. That way I have time to calculate it.)

One hundred years have passed since that fateful day... when the Kingdom of Hyrule was utterly consumed by the horror known as Calamity Ganon. But now, that era of terror is finally over. Link, the final champion of Hyrule, has risen from his slumber, reawakened the Divine Beats, and slain Ganon once and for all...

Or did he?

Believing all to be well, Link and Zelda have begun the process of rebuilding their long-lost empire. The villages of Hateno and Kakariko have pledged their direct fealty to her to Zelda, and many of Hyrule's former vassals and sworn their loyalty to the crown. However, not all of their former subjects are so eager to go back to the old ways. The Faron Region, having lived for so long under their own rule, has rejected the Hyrulian monarchy and declared their independence. The incident has potentially made Hyrule vulnerable, as many common folk throughout the land have taken this example to heart and say that self-governance may be the way to go. So far, the Hyrulian government has made no formal action on the matter, but only time will tell.

Players, you may begin submitting actions for Turn 1.
They, as well as your character sheets, are due on Saturday, November 11th, 2017.

Check the Google Doc. I just modified the roll formula for dueling to incoporate Personal Combat traits into the equation.

Fellow players, seeing as I have been relentlessly pillaging Hyrule Conquest for ideas, I figured it was only fair to share this resource with you lot as well. Do keep in mind that, by word of GM, anything involving gunpowder (and, presumably, magic or monstrous creatures as well) will require research to unlock. Furthermore, most upper tier units that do not rely such things will only be present in limited numbers as a garrison for your capital and/or as bodyguards for VIPs; in order to get them in militarily significant numbers, you will need a dedicated recruitment action.

@Derek Kingdom of Hyrule
@Theravis Zora Dominion
@Void Stalker Gerudo
@Easter New Hyrule (bit of a stretch, but predominantly naval like Arcadia)
@PranksterOliwar & @Brightflame Terminia (Warning, every page save the Kingdom of Ikana [not in this game] and the Deku Tribes [Piggybacking off their Hyrulian cousins] is basically empty right now.)
@DarthHokage024 I'm not giving you a thing, you fascist pig Nah, just kidding, thing is though, there isn't a page for an Onox-controlled Holodrum. There's one for the Moblins and there's one for a Not-Evil Holodrum, not sure how relevant they are...

Dankeshun.

Also, there are exceptions to the general rule for military tech that bdun suggests. Consult the Technology and Research section of the Google Doc for information on your specific nation.

Gamepedia and Wikia have some good Zelda sections as well for people looking (and probably helps since we are smashing several different Zelda games together).

Religions
Hey, all, I just realized something that might be kind of important to include in a game like this is a list of religions, so you may ascribe to one or more of them for you people. I will also update the Google Doc with this list. If there are any original religions you would like added to this list, please let me know.
  • Worship of the Three Goddesses of Hyrule (Din, Nayru, Farore)
    • Triforce of Power
    • Triforce of Wisdom
    • Triforce of Courage
  • Worship of Hylia, The One True Goddess (This also constitutes worship of Princess Zelda herself.)
  • Worship of Demise, The God who tore Time Asunder (This also constitutes worship of Ganon and Calamity Ganon.)
  • Worship of the Five Spirits of Spiritia
  • Worship of the Four Giants of Termina
  • Worship of the Three Gods of Lorule (Nid, Uryan, Eroraf)
    • Triforce of Beauty
    • Triforce of Vengeance
    • Triforce of Shrewdness
  • Worship of Majora
  • Atheism
  • Druidism (Worship of Nature Spirits)
  • Alatrism (Recognition of Gods, but do not worship them)
  • Worship of One's Ancestors
