As far as styling on him goes, he does have shikai and he has shown that he'll bust that out whenever, so responding to their capabilities is not something I think could be held against us.

Ganking them in the streets later, though, that probably could. Especially with the 'not having the medical personnel that are currently here' aspect of that.

Let him showing off his Shikai in front of the Captains and improve his future? Screw that. This is the most damaging too him long term without compromising Ichigo's reputation.

After reading @Mortifer's points, I changed my mind. Yeah, Zangetsu would appreciate just beating this guy up and getting it over with.
 
Since Mort is usually wrong, I'm gonna say that we shouldn't bother with treating him like anyone else. Toss him out on his ass and be on with it.
