[X] RogueDruid, but with a Text Expansion...
-[X] A young man, who for a rogue ninja with a preference for black clothing, has an expression of a relaxed professional, and since being accepted by the Ebon Emperor, a bit more brooding, that hides a spark of hope and fanaticism towards the Black Kingdom, that's filling his thirst for vengence. Despite this, any expression of his can be hidden in a stoic face, that looks as still as a dolls mask, but can be as strong as the Ebon Lord's own emotions when his mental 'mask' comes off.
--[X] Past black ninja garb, he's also apparently has a liking for dark jackets, dark business suits... Anything, especially if it can be darker than black, or easy to conceal various weapons or knives, that could be likely coated in poison if you're not careful.
I do know the guy. He is fitting, especially with his bored expression.
Still, unless you have a GIF of him laughing (which would be... unsettling, frankly), then we'll have to wait for the artistic soul who can bring us this creepiness.
EDIT: A question required for... reasons:
-If we are to get a literal Joe Norman the used car salesman, will he too come through the proper initiation ala Black Circle of Doom?
To be fair, it's one thing thinking "Darker than Black" when it comes to a possible appearance. But an entirely different thing to put it into description. Because 'hey', just because Jacob has a 'face' of a Shizuo expy, doesn't mean he's Shizuo per see...
And vice/versa for Yuudai. Who for all I know could in some lights have a similar hairstyle as "Boruto era Sasuke" or Hayate, for all I know. But generally speaking, I can literally imagine him, if him not having an 'emblemless Ninja garb', that might shortly be filled with some 'Black Kingdom' Seal, appear like an entirely average homeless man (in order to weave away attention/assassination attempts by his betrayed clan.)
Either way, long term? All we'd really need, is possibly a trickery means to amorally revive his fallen family relatives he cared about (which might be a possible 'vision' by the Black King/Ebon Emperor himself.) Do it, and we may have a happy Intrigue Adviser (along with brainwashed/indoctrinated souls as compensation.) And an 'easy' route to a possible Ninja Clan at our beck and call...
That, and an easy Intrigue/Ninja Tutor, since we need to be a kickass Ninja, ASAP. Given the Ninja escalation we're going to have (which in turn, leads to a possible 'Ninja Training 101' set up options, I'd bet.)
-
Now, rambling aside. It looks like at a long term glance, our 'inmates/prisoners' are beginning to near Death's door, or about to expire given being harvested for Ebon for likely a Month or two by now. And if possible foreshadow on long term health decline over constant draining/torture for Ebon harvesting is anything to go by...
EDIT: One more thing in hindsight... But assuming we go real into trying to be 'nice' to Yuudai by reviving his fallen relatives with crit success...
We may in that case, end up with Dark Revenant like Adviser/Villain Units under our employ, with the likely advantages of this;
Advantages: Ebon Netherlord: The might of the dead flows through your body and the dead themselves heeds your call and commands. The phantoms and spectres of the world are at your command. Dead men speak their tales without hesitation and the frost of the Nether Realms emanates from you, draining away the warmth of life. The fire of hell burns from within. That which is dead cannot be killed, such is what you are now.
Language Grave: Words have power and there are many words throughout the history of men that have long since been forgotten. Languages that only dead man speak, languages that the living no longer speak - you can speak and understand them all. And there are some dead languages that should never have been spoken in the first place. A single word from such a dead language can bring ruination upon the speaker...or their enemies.
Treasure of the Underworld: The wealth hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface lies deep underground. The realm of the dead is known as the Underworld - a world under the world. Perhaps a conceptual misunderstanding has occurred but regardless of the cause, you can call forth the wealth that lies deep below the world of the living.
At a glance on advantages, assuming we have 'revived dead souls' for extra 'ties' at possible expense of afterlife respect. We COULD end up with a Ghost Unit that may not have as strong an 'advantage' as an undead Ebon Lord. But may still have access to the other two, at a higher cost due to possibly being in lacking strength to handle possible costs/prices. However, in that end...
Disadvantages: Purification by the Light: Your nature as a being of death means that the Light burns you more harshly than it would the living. Though that which is dead cannot be killed, it can still be destroyed. As the Chosen of the Black King, you are resistant to such purifying light but those that heed your call are not so fortunate.
Reaper's Wrath: You should have died on those cold hard stones but the Ebon Emperor ripped you away from the grasp of the Reaper. The nature of your resurrection is an affront to the Reaper. You have defied the natural order and thus the Reaper desires that this be corrected. The Reaper does not often bend his own rules but for the sake of your death, the Reaper is willing to turn the other eye to the fate of your enemies.
A Hunger for Souls: Your Resurrection comes with a price. In order to maintain your continued existence, you must devour the souls of the living. The purer the soul, the stronger the soul, the better. The destruction of a soul is a heinous thing and something that the Light finds unforgivable. Even those on the side of evil do not take such an act lightly. Be wary and do not let others know of your hunger.
At a glance, Disadvantage wise. Assuming we go 'revive' at a cost of soul hunger OOC. We'd likely have a 'Ghost Unit' that can perma-kill (at expense of horror) our enemies. But given likely strength, unless we're real good at revival through some reincarnation clause...
More likely to cause Reapers to descend, possibly leading to a deader 'Unit' with interest. Or having to have our Ghost unit devour the souls of any of their rivals/opponents, 'least they end up not dying. And of course, assuming we revive ourselves a 'Ghost Unit', likely to be weaker against the light in contrast to if we had Revenant as a background choice.
-
But still, think of the potential~... To have a Ghost unit, who could possibly rally the fallen of the Black Kingdom, to serve it's revival once again. And permamently execute/devour any possible... Threats, to our rule.
I imagine this guy to be a bit more scruffy looking and looks like a ninja veteran. Basically, Yaiba from Ninja Gaiden Z but without the cyborg part and is a whole human
been without internet for several days using a family members right now and going with electric batman. Now im off to get caught up with my pile of quests wish me luck.
I have a simple headcannon for this quest. More are on the way. You can't stop this train
If the D.Gray Man franchise exists here, this is why:
The author of the series (Our dearly beloved Katsura Hoshino - sensei) is actually a retired exorcist that used her experience to make a successful series. The infamous 'Hiatus period' was either due to old injuries acting up or being called back in from retirement for a dire mission. I would prefer it to be the last one.
Edit: I dunno is Jacob is the type to read manga but i think i'd be funny if we recognized her and asked for her autograph as Ebon.
Because I think the next update here won't come too quickly, I'd like to address one concern.
Few minutes after an update, people already post plans.
It wasn't after pretty much all plans except 2 that there was a single proper analysis.
I think current 'posting culture' has a few downsides:
-It favors the quickest posted plans.
After a certain point in time it's not worth bothering posting a plan.
-It's impossible to change your plan once you post it.
So if you had an epiphany after making a plan, you still can't change it.
-It undermines pretty much all analysis that comes after.
"Great analysis bro! It sure will influence the plan I already posted!"
Core of the reason why I think this is the case? "You can't change a plan nor a vote by editing your post. (also people voted for your previous plan already)"
This has two main effects:
-Can't change your plan.
-You have to vote using a new post.
People are less likely to vote again, especially with vote-only posts, as they might think it's close to "spamming" a thread. (please tell me if this is not your experience)
So where exactly am I going with this?
I'd like to suggest a planning moratorium.
It doesn't have to be long. 2 hours, or even 1 hour would be enough. (especially since the first plan came 15 minutes after the update...)
I hope that would encourage actual discussion about options and possible plans before people start announcing their programs.
Of course people may be perfectly fine with system as it is, and I might just be suggesting an unnecessary blockade for something that happens quick anyway.

I've seen many plans changed after initial posting and have evens seen people edit their plan in response to analysis on various quests and I have even personally done so or edited in something after getting a new idea. There are even various times if you read alot of quests you will find a plan changing frequently because of feedback and good suggestions.
Still there also times where a landslide happens with no changes despite agreeing with feedback etc because of not wanting to change something already posted or people posting entirely new plans and I would support a 30 minute plan hiatus if absolutely necessary but any longer than that I just cant personally support unless a quest already takes several days or a week or two usually before a vote closes already.
For hell, another 'cheap' omake, this time under the pretense of the looming 'doom' of Jacob's "Ordinary Life". And also, to in hindsight think of a possible 'brewing' headache on if Jacob's 'passively' being viewed as a possible 'Kickass' initiate within Ando's "Ninja Band," for better or worse in the Intrigue Masqurade...
A bit rambly, and sadly not enough 'feeling' of describing a blend of Jacob learning, talking and brooding while an escalating amount of Ninja may 'stare' at him. Which he might notice, but feels he can't be too paranoid, least he'd likely make the 'lucky spots' even more harder to find, or 'up' his apparent Intrigue score to possible enemies...
I've also written a lighthearted 'ninja mail' omake a bit back. Dunno if it's archived, or valued for archiving. But it's worth a shot, right?
-
The problem, with Ninja fan clubs and Ninja transfer students.
-
If it was an ordinary day. Jacob would have probably went to school, casually learn advanced Engineering while hoping his buddy 'Ando' behind him is alright, along with his other friends. While casually ignoring the constant gaze Asuka has had on him as of late. Before trying to have his clone keep a 'good' distance in interacting with his own social connections, without arousing too much suspicion from relatives, or worse Roselyn...
However, it's due to Ando's brewing Ninja disaster, thanks to posting some ancient Katana that if he was under a real Ninja family, would have thinked thrice before posting an image of him drawing a Legendary Ninja Katana, that'd have made him Ninja King Arthur, on the Internet...
Past that Ninja headache where he delivered swift retribution to those who dared harm his friends, and gained one hell of an overdue Intrigue Adviser on his 'to do' lists, and have to avoid thinking of too much, least he start's thinking too much like a Ninja 'Genin', that it'd likely start sending 'ninja confirmed' signals to Asuka he doesn't want to confirm...
Last thing he heard (in memory) from his true self, was the odd news and rumours of looming 'shenanigans' he's heard in secret in the aftermath report from his own 'spies' on some evil mage that's giving the Mage group paranoia, and a likely brewing Exorcist crisis that might be to his advantage, unless those Akuma are an even worser threat to his long term plans. At the very least, he's got a Ninja Adviser to sort the lack of Intrigue actions he's had until now. Especially thanks to his doll adviser helping with a proper induction.
With that, Jacob continued to write on his own paperwork and listen in to the teacher talk about the next subject, while casually ignoring the 'familier' gazes of Asuka, that's a little less frequent, while having to ignore the feeling of being starred at by a few more eyes than usual, and a feeling that there might be a few more past the window for all he knew...
Damnit, more Ninja, sighed Jacob, before having a feeling that the 'Ando' disaster's going to become a longer term headache, that he'd only tolerate if he can acquire more Ninja 'captives' to interrogate, or indoctrinate in the long run...
Made worse, when having to deal with the fallout of having 'confirmed' Asuka's suspicion of obviously being a Ninja, and being dragged under a 'thank you' meal from Ando's family, has not helped his likely 'compromised' mundane livelihood. (Despite saying a thousand times, he's just a bloody delinquent, who had a feeling Ando's gotten into a fight over some ancient katana... And is getting even more annoyed over his 'discovery/secret induction' of the Ninja Masqurade, as a possible not so coy attempts to ensure long term 'sleepovers' for extra security on Ando's end.)
The fact that Ando's younger sister, somehow was a bit nervous in the aftermath of the kidnapping, despite his best attempts to relieve the possible trauma, is not helping things at all. But hopefully, at least his friend Ando won't make a long term mess, by suddenly taking his own brewing Ninja disaster seriously...
... Which hopefully, would make him a valid long term 'ally', if he can give a friendly little 'alliance/help' offer as Ebon, along with vague as hell warnings that there's a few more factions that might take notice of his actions. While 'hopefully' trying to not be accused of being some 'edge lord' villain by his quirks, or arouse further suspicion from Asuka...
... Then again, maybe he'd want to learn a few tips from his own Ninja 'tutor's on how to sneak in/out, or worse... 'Talk' in cover, before he'd try that.
... The fact he's still hearing gazes, and light comments on a possible 'Fan Club' being past around, as of late by his... Network, hasn't helped his brewing shyness at all on the issue.
... a handful of Transfer Students, like this 'Asuka' bodyguard under Ando, and a likely further 'Kunoichi' transfer of students to keep an eye on Ando, was what he was ideally hoping for as the 'best case scenario' in the fallout. Not an even bigger wave of asian transfer students, with the fact some of them where staring at him from all corners, giving him an inking that his 'free time' is going to be compromised by bloody Ninja shenanigans...
He'd have been irate, over the possible danger to his cover, and the annoyance of having to punch, main and kill bloody Ninja, who could somehow use Espionage to get 'even' with his raw, physical might (before it's even reinforced by the power of Ebon.) Which is making his apparent skill gap in Ninja skills, even more of a worry for him at the rate things are going.
At least he's finally got his own rogue Ninja, to at least have an improvised crash course on the finer elements of Ninja training, and maybe help with his own Ninja clan in the long term, maybe. That is the only silver lining he'd have, if he'd want to have a sort of 'prodigy' like development of Ninja skills, at the expense of being a 'confirmed' prodigy. Or develop ninja skills, without Ando's clan/family inducting him as a sort of 'Gaijin Bodyguard' deal/plot.
With that, the bell rang, and he left the classroom along with Ando and a few other present friends...
"Oh my gosh, Jacob!" He heard a few Asians, who spoke in japanese and other foreign languages. Likely under a feigned attempt to gather interest, and maintain cover...
Worst thing is in his opinion, is their presence is lightly freaking him out past his 'apathy', yet he can't really 'talk' or deal with them right away, without possibly blowing his cover, or worse being dragged into a ruined masqurade, or get dragged into more Ninja politics...
Assuming he isn't kidnapped, 'indoctrinated', assassinated, tortured or whatever bullshit that sleezy bastard he inflicted a fate worse than death on would do on him. In order to try and create another 'stunt' like that old man did on Ando's sister, last time around.
It's times like these, Jacob hated getting involved with Ninja's in the first place. He only wanted in time, a stable, Intrigue Adviser to not get hit under suspicion. And maybe, a 'nudge' to get Ando to become his own 'friendly' ally in the Ninja world, once he get's past being highly visible for even his 'gaijin' standards.
Not, a fucking fan club. Or even more attention that's making his bailout almost a double edged sword.
... If nothing else, he may want to figure out how to utilize Ebon energy, to make his own voice a bit more... 'intimidating', or different. To ideally hide a possible 'clue' that could lead to recognition from the old man he's now subjected to an intense 'farming'...
And he has all intentions, to make sure that bastard suffers for as long as possible, before his old bones eventually cave in....
Breath in, out...
"You still thinking of what happened last weak?" Said Ando, a bit uncertain, yet concerned over just how badly he's been affected by having to deal with his own mess.
"Just thinking, of the annoyance of English class that's coming next." Replied Jacob as a habit, already trying to avoid possible breaking of a blatant masqurade, that he's a bit more relieved Ando hasn't utterly broke for a change... Which is not helping his headache, over the passive gasping he's hearing from the back, past the stares his own Ninja friends commenting in 'disguise'...
... At least, things are 'sort of' okay, thought Jacob. As long term, he'd... Be able to minimise possible damages the Ninja could cause on his cover, with his own covering of loose ends, and ideally getting a crash course in avoiding attention even better from his own Ninja adviser...
And not end up, with a brewing 'Kunoichi', or female ninja harem like what's likely going to happen to Ando.
Unaware of the possible sneezes he'd caused, by a few Kunoichi who are staring at Ando and Jacob, from across the rooftops.
EDIT: And as an extra, some cut samples on what I may have extended, either as a sort of 'preview', or possible spark of ideas on a possible theme of 'Jacobs brewing Ninja fan club aftermath'.
... And Roselyn
... And what is Michael doing, with ...
"Uh, Michael?"
"Hey, Big Bro!"
... Damnit, they're now getting 'invested' in trying to drag Michael into Ninja shenanigans?
Somehow, Jacob had to suppress a headache...
-
"Jacob,"
Dodge...
"What's this I'm hearing of you getting involved with Ninja?"
"... Had to bail out Ando from some thugs, who eyed some blade he showed on Facebook."
...
"Initially, I thought it was a bunch of weeaboo's being butthurt over him having some authentic katana. But then, It turned out, they we're real fucking ninjas..."
"... And how?"
Smirk.
"I did what you did, beat the shit out of them."
... A sigh.
-
.... The fact his family somehow got news letter's for 'free coupons' from some Ninja Burger franchise, did not help his brewing headache... Nor the surprise 'job offer' he got from the same store, promising 'Discounts', 'Apprenticeships' and what not...
Because the last one didn't get marked, this one decided to pop up.
Ugh. Jacob's family is just so fun to think and make headcanons about.
Thick frameless glassess, a lion's mane worth of red hair, and a countenance that would make those lesser quake beneath their skin. Even without a body made out of the strongest steel, Maximillion was already an individual to be feared. Wherein men would have begged and humiliated themselves to have a build like his, Max continuously wept at his predicament.
He was just a normal guy! He liked writing, and taking in stray animals, and a lot of things that didn't require lifting or push-ups! Such were thoughts that often plagued him when his mind found itself unbeleaguered by anything of import. Work had been stressful. The good kind of stressful that had him tired at the end of the day because of doing good.
It was far different from the kind of stress he used to have in what used to be his former occupation. An occupation that he was too happy to leave behind and never -friends screams shouts hurt anger quiet- look back on. It certainly made being a family man -danger intrigue schemes plots- easier.
A sigh escaped his lips as a muscled hand gingerly picked up the dango that he had ordered. It was only a side trip, one that he'd tell his lovely wife about because of how cute the decorations the place had. Maybe if his kids were free this coming Sunday, he'd bring them here too. Little MJ would enjoy it. Vivi would spout and sputter, blush on her cheeks, and try her best not to enjoy the sweets. The thought even made him laugh inwardly as he took a bite.
Jacob…well, he was still his son. Even if his eldest had become somewhat more distant than before. Not that he minded! The brat still came home everyday, always made sure to let his parents know what he was doing, and generally kept away from trouble. His…troubled aura notwithstanding, Jacob was as normal as ever.
That's what he told himself at least. Bury away all the machinations of a past life that no longer mattered because he was over all of it and he left behind good people to deal with it and why was Blackie here?
"You never really did get over your sweet tooth, ey Maxxie?" There was a chortle from both men, as what might have become a tense atmosphere remained as amicable as two long time friends seeing each other again.
Which they exactly were, despite looking the complete opposite of one another. Where one was a hulking giant with muscles that could crush watermelons with a twitch, the other looked to be waist deep in his own grave with how haggard he looked. Yet between the two of them, bystanders could do little but be affected by their sheer aura of…cordiality.
In a flash, the smiles cracked as his long time friend opened those always narrowed eyes of his. For a moment, Max feared he broke the dango stick between his fingers.
"She misses you, you know. It's been a while since she's seen her Godfather." Began 'Blackie' even as flashes of red hair, wide eyes, and an unbelievably loud girl arrived at the forefront of Max's mind. "She's been doing rather well for herself too. Always at the top of her class. Even her little quirks reminds me of her Godfather than her own dad." At that, 'Blackie' raised a gloved hand and pushed his reflective glasses up just enough to catch a tint of the flourescent light to turn the eyewear opaque.
Max, however, continued to stay quiet. Merely watching his good friend continue on. "She even managed to get her own underling not too long ago. Her underling shows just as much promise as she did too, maybe even more. A small world too cause the kid apparently knows yours." A laugh. "Said that he really wanted to punch that 'gaijin' Anderson in the face."
Gloved hands tapped against the wooden table. A tired breath leaving him and for that moment, Blackie looked far too vulnerable. Far more vulnerable than what Max had ever seen. "Well, that's all I really wanted to tell you about. I have missed you, my good friend, but alas the company does need their managers to keep things running. There are reports of new comers thinking they can take our clients. Can't let those upstarts think they're hot stuff now, can we?"
Blackie stood up, his far too cordial smile once more prominent upon his face. He flapped the long coat that he wore, as if to throw off any dust that might have gotten on it. Max knew better though. It was a coded sign. One that was accompanied with a flash of silver and gold and memories that he no longer had any right to revisit.
"You should drop by one of these days. It'll do your goddaughter some good. Hell, I'll even break out that iced candy you love so much if you do." With but a wave of his hand, Blackie left behind his good friend as if he was never there to begin with.
At the end of it all, Max could only raise his hand and call for the bill.
This development required some thought. And maybe advice from his amazing wife. She always did know what to do.
And what is more, we can actually do something productive that way by sparing our QM from having to think up the whole backstory by themselves.
I mean... I think every Omake about Jacob's family has been made canon so far.
Man, I'm just happy people like the shitposts I'm making. The whole thing about them being canon-compliant just helps my belly get warmer.
I've got his Rival, Brother, and Dad doing something. Might make something more in line with the Rival soon if we can get a bit more information on how the Exorcists operate. Or I can just wing it like I usually do.
Also. The fact that the QM bothers to like my shit is pretty fucking rad. Thanks @shibosho for making a really entertaining quest. If my ability permits, I might try my hand on your other one too.

Considering that your work is pretty solid, would you mind if I ran a few ideas by you? They are there in my head, but not with enough material to make a good Omake with. Maybe you can work with them.
