Behind the Serpent Throne (CK2)

Thoughts:
[] Training Days
-[] Jin'ha, Jun

Jin'ha "might have a certain way with local people, including new recruits" while Jun is "skilled at dealing with even the rawest conscripts". I'm not sure if any of these two translates into being good at training soldiers but....

[] Sprinkling of Mages
-[] Ji'lae

His connections might be helpful here. Don't really want to place anyone else on this since they might clash.

[] Reserved Elite
-[] Kiralo, Kueli?

[] Raising The Ranks
-[] Kiralo, Kueli?

Leading a mercenary company must have given them some experience with picking out reserves and officers, I suppose? Having Kueli pick out officers or reserves might be seen as insulting though, so we should be careful where we place him.

[] Lay Down the Law
-[] Jin'ha

Might fall under "local affairs".

[] Scouting In the Dust
-[] Kueli, Pao

Kueli is good with cavalry, but Pao is good with scouts specifically. On the other hand, placing Kueli in this action might just be one of the least insulting possibilities.

[] Spirit Support
-[] Gen'ha

It's what he's good at.

[] [G] [M] A Doctor In the House?
-[] Hi'sen

He's a healer, so he can probably help with this.

[] [G] Cannon Law
-[] Niu, but we might want to use him on an action that requires a general instead.

[] [G] Integrating the Nobles
-[] Since it's politics, I'd say Kiralo himself, since he's pretty good at dealing with that. If we want to place him here, we can't put Niu on Cannon Law though.

[X] Plan Gingganz

This is pretty much what I'm thinking, though I was tempted to include Cannon Law over Reserved Elite, considering the former has a set pass-fail and the other is variable. Still, Reserved Elite does say it's not something to be done lightly, and so we should put a general there.

One question though. Why put Jun in Lay Down the Law? He doesn't have any special talent outside of the battlefield and recruits. I'd imagine Jin'ha or Kiralo is better suited to dealing with the bureaucracy, laws, and organizational structuring Lay Down the Law would probably require. The wording and subsequent clause are kinda vague though, but I think Jun is better suited to training recruits, either in Training Days or Reserved Elite.

@The Laurent, clarification. What does, "skilled at dealing with even the rawest conscripts, but possesses no special knack outside the battlefield" mean?

He's not a genius at logistics, he's not great at playing the political game, etc, etc.

@Zeitgeist Blue:
[X] Jun: A slayer of bandits and writer of accounts, he seems in some ways a boastful man, clearly overstating his capacity for work. And yet he's also known for his quick, decisive action in tough moments, and for his willingness both to obey the rules of his superiors while understanding that in battle there is often confusion and uncertainty.
My thinking was that someone who is willing to follow rules but still understands that one has to be flexible at times might be good at Laying Down the Law.

With his ability to take decisive action he may also work well with the reserves, and maybe it would be best to have the big boss enforce the rules, so I could swap Kiralo and Jun, if you prefer.

And while we are badgering @The Laurent, I am a bit confused by Bao'ren's description:
Desc: A spirit-catcher, more at home in the wild than anywhere else, his skills might not be as useful before the march begins as one might hope. But perhaps there is a way.
While he may be best in the wilderness, he still was once a 'Street Spirit-catcher', so shouldn't he be useful in urban environments, too?

Somewhat, but the work in the streets of the city is more along the lines of rounding up errant spirits, you know?

Ah, I see where you're coming from.

Still, I'd think swapping Kiralo and Jun would make your plan as perfect as we could get.

Too sick to think of my own plan, I just took Gigganz' plan and changed one thing.

All I did was remove Jaw-Lung and the Fugitive from Sprinkling of Mages. Why? Because simply throwing more mages at an action doesn't necessarily make it go better and there might be tensions between them. Ji'lae may have recommended the Fugitive, but that doesn't mean they can work together. We don't even know if our Mystery Mage works well with others.

It's pretty sad that we can't put Jaw-Lung or Niu on Cannon Law, but ah well.

Just not very good time of the year to be making giant vote constructions at work while pretending to be working due to being too busy actually working >.<
