Behind the Serpent Throne (CK2)

Yeah, until Monday. I was actually going to have a second round where you figured out the Generals and Mages thing, but apparently people are so masochistic that they're doing it early? It seemed like it'd be one detail too many, so I was going to have people argue about that in the next round...
It's fun. Like a connect-the-dots puzzle but with words and competencies. Not sure if people agree with me or not on my choices though.

Basically, you'd have to rely on luck/what you have in place already to see how well it's managed. It'll never just be 'not done' but there's no certainty that it'll be done as well as it could be, if that makes sense? Hence why it's a 100% chance if taken.
This does change things. I'm changing The Civic Guard for Beasts of Burden then. That would then mean there's only 2 differences between the plans. Up to the voters which are more important.

Alright, vote closes in an hour and a half or so. Last minute changes and/or tally, please? If you do change your vote, do it in a new vote in the next hour, so I can know.

[X] March on the traitors within his own province, denying their troops to Jinhai, though of course it also means that the Governor's forces won't march forth to join you, though the trip would already be quite long.

[X] Press the attack against the peasant rebels. Try to deal with them, even if it costs men and resources. This might not be the time to deal with them, but they're on the backfoot at the moment.

It's a tie with very few people having voted.

@veekie , @Broken25 , @Kingofbooks , @Varano , @slybrarian , @mori , @Molyneux , @Kravot , @Ze_Count

Been too busy. Urgh. I have a 1/5th done vote in an open tab that I can't find the time to finish.

I'll assess the standing plans and pick one I guess.

These complicated plans always confuse me but

[X] Plan Zeitgeist

sounds best to me.

The only difference between the two plans is that mine has Mystery Mage and Garb while Zeitgeist's has Rassit and Cannons.

I'll reiterate my view then. We can't really assign the Mystery Mage on an action until we know what he's good at. Well, technically we could, but it would be a gamble and might backfire. And this is more of a guess, but as a Sage he might be helpful with any Aiyistin related actions.

As for Garb, I know nobody likes politics and decadence, but I really don't want us to risk insulting the nobles and our generals. If they are insulted, working with them is going to be harder and they might undermine us. The Integrating the nobles action might actually get harder if they feel insulted etc. Yes, I actually think they are stupid enough to do that and risk us losing against the Prince. If not, they are going to undermine us afterwards. Why take the risk? So we can spend a single dice on another action? Doesn't seem worth it to me.

As for cannons, we aren't moving out yet so there's no need for them yet. We can keep this until next turn.

As for Rassit, I don't really have any excuses other than that I didn't have any dice left. *shrug*

Hmm, I didn't really want to do this but....

@The Laurent I know it will probably come down to a roll, but with what Kiralo knows about the nobles and generals, does he think it is likely that they'll feel insulted if we don't take The Garb of Conquerors or does he think there's a good chance he can get away with it?

Of course they'll be insulted. The question is whether or not he can live with it. They're not going to overthrow him in fire and blood, that much is obvious, but they're not going to like it at all.

Turn 9--Planning Part 2
Turn 9--Asset Assignment

Kiralo

Desc: Obviously, Kiralo can personally choose to work on a single thing, giving it as much of his time, focus and attention as he can. It isn't hard to guess what Kiralo is good at and what he isn't, though the answer is honestly 'everything' to some extent.

Kueli

Desc: A powerful man, if a foreigner and outsider who might draw ire, he is skilled in the use of spirits and in personal combat, and a very, very good cavalry leader, second only to Kiralo. He is also skilled in logistics.

Pao

Desc: Skilled at logistics, river transportation, and skirmishing and scout forces, he's also a decent general overall.

Jin'ha

Desc: Perfect for local affairs, he can also manage money very well, and might have a certain way with local people, including new recruits.

Jun

Desc: Quick, decisive and brave, he's skilled at dealing with even the rawest conscripts, but possesses no special knack outside the battlefield, relatively speaking.

Niu

Desc: Logistics, cannons, the bureaucracy, military men, his purview is actually rather wide, all things considered.

Ji'lae

Desc: A powerful Mage in personal combat, he has ties and connections that might prove more than a little useful.

Gen'ha

Description: A binder of spirits and a long-term worker, now might be the time that he can shine, in preparing ahead of time the spiritual protection that will be so needed.

Hi'sen

Desc: Hi'sen is a healer, first and foremost, and his magical and personal skills all revolve around this.

Bao'ren

Desc: A spirit-catcher, more at home in the wild than anywhere else, his skills might not be as useful before the march begins as one might hope. But perhaps there is a way.

Jaw-Lung

Desc: Guns, cannons. And then even more guns and cannons. Such is the way of Jaw-Lung.

Fugitive

Desc: ???

[] Training Days
-[] Select a General.

[] Sprinkling of Mages
-[] At least one Mage. Choosing more can be better, but think about how they'd interact with each other. And so on.

[] Reserved Elite
-[] Choose 1 General.

[] Raising The Ranks
-[] Select a general.

[] Lay Down the Law
-[] Select a general.

[] Scouting In the Dust
-[] Select a general.

[] Spirit Support
-[] Choose one or more Mages.

[] [G] [M] A Doctor In the House?
-[] You may choose a Mage, a General, or both.

[] [G] Cannon Law
-[] If there are any left, you may choose a general.

[] [G] Integrating the Nobles
-[] You may select a general if you wish.
******

A/N: I'm dividing them into two categories so that you know to eat your broccoli before you eat your dinner. Because, for instance, in the prelim plan that Zeitgeist proposed...you'd run out of generals before filling all the places you wanted to throw one in. Just how it goes. Also, vote by plan.

[X] Plan Gingganz

[X] Training Days: Jin'ha
[X] Sprinkling of Mages: Ji'lae, Jaw-Lung, Fugitive
[X] Reserved Elite: Jun
[X] Raising The Ranks: Pao
[X] Lay Down the Law: Kiralo
[X] Scouting In the Dust: Kueli
[X] Spirit Support: Gen'ha, Bao'ren

[X] [G] [M] A Doctor In the House?: Hi'sen
[X] [G] Integrating the Nobles: Niu

First the obvious chocies: Hi'sen is a healer, so he gets to organize the medical corps. Gen'ha's specialty is long-term spirit-work, so he is ideally suited for Sprit Support.

Kueli is best suited as a leader of light cavlary, so he will train the scouts. Jin'ha gets along well with new recruits from the region, so he will probaly do well training them; Training Days for him. I hope the more refined Niu will work well with the nobles, so he gets to integrate them.

Ji'lae seems rather martial, so I want him to figure out how the mages can work with the army, i.e. he gets Sprinkling of Mages. We have no idea about Fugitive, but Ji'lae recommended him, so I hope he will know what to do with Fugitive. Fugitive joins Ji'lae. I added Jaw-Lung to Sprinkling of Mages just because he didn't seem particularly suited to anything specific. (I wish we could select a mage for Cannon Law.)

I am not sure what Kiralo, Pao and Jun will be best at, so I just distributed them among the rest of the actions that need a general.
