I'm confused, why is he so focused on one planet instead of focusing on reseeding other systems. He's a machine after all.
He's not focused on one planet, he's focused on two and a literal wound on the fabric of the universe. You just aren't seeing much of N7 because not much is going on there at the moment.

He's focusing on the two planets because he needs to create a functioning system to re-seed life throughout the universe. So he's running by the seat of his pants trying to fix the first two planets he saw. Also loads of emotional trauma, like so much emotional trauma.

He has at least one robot on every planet he's had to fight on, if said planet wasn't destroyed. Every single planet, in every galaxy he's been too. He hasn't turned on more than some lesser fabrication bots, energy plants, and metal extractors because actually seeing all the damage he caused would result in another mental melt down that might render him catatonic.

ya the sowers are pretty awesome sad that they where not a playable faction in endless space 2 they got turned into a damn minor non playable faction bah fuck those twats that did that

It was probably done that way solely because of balance.

Edit: Glad your liking my little side story :)

I was thinking that the Dyson System was also being used as Prototype. I'm pretty sure that the commander has a simulator powerful enough to have sentient simulatees, but applying it to the real would generate some concrete data and illuminate some unforeseen flaws.

Once the commander is feeling better, and the system is doing better, I'm sure that he's going to expand his lawn a few systems over.

Renaming it the Solar Scale Fabricator, I then began to wonder what the heck I was gonna use it to build? I really didn't plan this through.
Might I interest you in mega-worlds?

STELLAR SHELL
Take something like a red dwarf. Then, using this superscience, create a shell around it of desirable thickness - if the shall has enough diameter, the gravity experienced upon its exterior surface would be 1G.
Of course it would involve complicated (for humans) math involving calculating mass per meter to determine the gravity (adding material will add more gravity after all), but over all a worthwhile endeavour: pretty much a normal world, but the size of a star.

Then of course there's your ringworlds, your dimensional worlds, your digital worlds, your spaceships...

Well judging from what I have read I am predicting something like a comic I read where a human is considered one of the most terrifying races in existence while a lone human is being taken care of on a space colony by a spider alien queen that is extremely powerful and threatening and still somehow considered weaker than humans. Aka Humanity became the Boogeyman.
quick question but whats the name of that comic?

Use it to build a bigger ring from inside. Instead of the planet, the solar system. It'd give you time to think of what to build! Also, add some processors so you don't spin it to create a shell around the solar system because your build queue is empty.

Spider Reincarnation: Entry 3
I'm bigger now! Still smaller than most, but I'm not as hungry anymore. How? Well… I'm not actually sure. It may have to do with the robot pillars. Still, I am now a massive spider! Real biggum times. I remember a lot more now as well. Well, not everything. But I got some more brain power. I've taken that brain power and developed it in useful directions. Apparently we have a language! It's a sound based one, you make little strings then rub them together to make music like a violin, you can do this to tell entire stories. The problem is, it's normally only taught to the female side of my race. Why? Well, they had a higher brain power till now. It was difficult for others to learn it, but there is more good news with this event! West Nest's nest collapsed. Yes I know that should be a sad thing, but the results have made me extremely happy. West Nest moved in with me! We can snuggle and everything, it's really nice. We even combined the nest styles like my mom and dad did.

Can't play with the robots now though, they are too small, they aren't fragile at least. But I know they are robots now! I think. I haven't actually seen them move. But they coincide with the memory fragments in my mind. Despite the size change, we are scarily quiet spider things. West Nest and I have teamed up to hunt a few things over the time we united. I've been teaching her how to make more complex traps and how to make the music that is normally inherited from family to family. Trying to get my mother to understand that I wanted to learn how to make the music was difficult, but she was enthusiastic once she realized what I was trying to do. Although I'd put a good bet she wouldn't be so enthusiastic if she realized I was also teaching West Nest. Still, I'll get them to accept her eventually.

Hmm? West Nest wants to cuddle… ooh. That's not cuddling. [CENSORSHIP ENABLED.]

Turns out being one of the most powerful around and constant effort to please the one your after is an attractive quality. Who knew?

Edit: Crap, didn't bug the OP enough for a new chapter. Probably hasn't worked much on one today.

Does that mean we are about to get intelligent murder spiders
They were already intelligent, social, and smart. They know how to make traps and they can basically converse with one another. With the upped brain-power, there is a high chance that we will get our first human level of intelligence soon other than the reincarnated spider.

Then how long until they become star fairing
Well it honestly depends on the kill bot in space and their own goals. These guys are rapidly evolving and adapting. My own side character would have likely died pretty soon if the modifications didn't go out. As they had a had real short lifespans before now. In a month or so in that universe the Spider side character would have likely seen his parents die.

So it depends on if they ever feel the need to expand into space.
