Yeah, attracting predators is actually something we want to do, they're a good source of food.

There's not really much reason to deposit far from our lair if we can't attract a ??? Predator. The food from the predator is the main compensation for the higher DC.

It's possible that not having gunk near our lair means there's lesson chance of attracting/empowering on a bad event, but it's kind of a side benefit and not necessarily worth the higher progress required by itself.
Poison Qi doesn't completely repel predators. It just makes them less likely to attack

I imagine it has a benefit, otherwise why even offer it instead of just giving an exploring action to go and find points of interest and predators.

Also I don't see anything indicating it has a higher progress requirement? Both the near and far options are double digits and there's no note about it being more difficult.

😇😇😇😇😇
This warrants experimentation!

Good to know!

In terms of the broader point, I think this is still a negative as far as we're concerned, and makes putting the gunk further away less attractive.

But it does mean we could maybe just focus on getting the next farm going, and continue cultivating outside for now?

[X] Plan: Using our stored food to buy time to make friends
-[X] D35: Try to integrate into a new colony (0/??)
-[X] D36:Try to integrate into a new colony (0/??)
-[X] D37: Cultivate outside your lair (Medium chance of summoning a ?? Level predator)

Not reeeaaally? There's regularly been options offered in the vote which would kill us if we took them. Making suboptimal decisions is on us.

RE: The progress required, I asked Tam Lin at the time. It's a bit higher, presumably due to the distance.

[] Plan: Second Farm Time
-[] Day 35: Try to expand your meager shelter (9/30)
-[] Day 36: Try to expand your meager shelter (9/30)
-[] Day 37: Work towards expanding your fungus farm.

If we don't reach the progress needed for expanding our farm by day 37, then we'll stop on that day and can make a new plan.

We've wanted to do this forever, let's seize the moment!

Don't want to drop in cultivation

Doesn't this boot you back to Initial 1st realm?

As of the last action, you didn't cultivate for 1 day.

35 makes it the 2nd day
36 is the third day
You have to cultivate on day 37

Keep in mind that cultivating the Poison Qi COSTS 10 Cultivation XP. Spend enougj Cultivation XP and your cultivation realm will go down.

You only have 20 cultivation XP to spend before your Realm goes down
Yeah, but it could have really cool effects.
Like imagine a (QiBlood) that means we are much less affected by the poison qi (less harm to us and easier to hide) and lets our attacks transfer some poison qi to our opponent, who then suffers debuffs and maybe damage each turn until they get rid of it.

Multiple people have promised that once we get a few days of food stockpiled we can test integrating with a colony.

Making our home bigger is decently understood right now, it let's us put in more farms. We know nothing of the costs/benefits of joining a new colony so we should find out so we know how useful it will be in future lives.

Wait, doesn't the gunk attract things that want to eat it or something? Or empower things?

If so, it would be to our advantage to have it a long way from our home.

Or am I confused?

Come to think of it, I'm one of them.

Oh snap, I miscalculated.

I don't want to join a new colony and bend the knee to some other ant. If we enter a new colony, it should be as a conqueror!

Why not use beetle charge on expending the shelter? We have the food so it doesn't really matter.

If you make that plan I'll vote for it. Am on phone so can't right now - we need to cultivate outside on the last day.

It might do either, depending on how Tam Lin is feeling on a negative event roll.

However, neither is actually bad from our perspective - ?? cultivating predators are a useful resource. The most you can say is it reduces the chance if potential complications like the Ladybug scent.

sure.
