For the record an ant without a colony is a terrible thing. But integrating with a new colony is risky. So we should probably gather food -> find shelter -> advance qi gathering -> join a new colony.

Enough to not die, but not enough to live
Although you have birthed a feeling of curiosity regarding the energy in your gut, you are still a growing ant.

Perhaps in the future when you are much stronger, such base desires will be less of a concern for you. However as you are a mere Qi Gathering individual, you are not yet immune to earthly concerns.

Thus, when you start to feel the growing pangs of hunger, who could say no?

Thankfully, although the colony is dead, the food that it has stockpiled is still there. It hasn't been long since the Reckoning so the food should not have rotted yet. You simply have to dig and find it.

Luckily, you are a growing ant! Although memories of your life from before the Reckoning are hazy, your body still remembers the endless days of digging new tunnels, foraging for food and endless days of marching.

Thus, trying to unearth the buried stores of food is no issue for you.

Due to your industrious digging, you have found 1 piece of food. Food 11/10 > 1/10

However, since you are a growing and who does not yet have shelter, even when eating the little food you managed to find, you still find yourself a little hungry. This is exacerbated by your lack of shelter.

Naturally, during the day it is too hot and during the night, it is too cold. When the body exerts itself as such, it is natural for it to consume even more nutrients.

It's almost as if trying to simply find food hasn't solved your issues at all.

To make matters worse, you find the traces of a snail in the area.

Snails are vicious creatures who attack ants.

Although snails are merely the size of a fingernail, what can you an ant who is even less than the size of a fingernail do? Although to a colony of ants, killing a snail would be no problem, you are merely a single ant who has not even made it past the earliest, smallest stages of Qi Condensation.

Thus, until this issue is resolved, everything you do from now on carries an element of risk. That is to say, until the snail decides to depart from the area or you kill it.

Because you do not have enough food, you are hungry and will experience -3 to all rolls. If you do not find food, you will be Starving
Because you do not have shelter, you are exposed to the elements and consume .1 more food.
A predator is in the area, thus everything you do carries an increased element of risk until you can drive it off or it goes away on its own.

[] Attempt to salvage food from the ruined colony. (1/10)
[] Try to build a workable shelter from the ruined colony (0/??)
[] Continue to churn the mysterious energy within your body (Early 1st Realm of Qi Gathering 16/20)

----- You have gone 1 day without churning the mysterious energy within your body. If you go 3 days without churning the mysterious energy within your body, the energy will disperse and the quest will end.

[] Attempt to integrate into a new colony (0/??)
[] Attempt to drive off the snail (0/???)

Seems like risking a new colony might be our only chance. Makes sense, ants are naturally colony organisms. Or we could take a crack at finishing Qi Condensation and hope that helps.

Unless we get fortunate enough to find a Super Colony, I don't think we'll be accepted by another colony of ants. Especially if they can somehow smell on our pheremones that we murdered other ants.

I think our best bet is to cultivate and hope that gives us more options.

Side note, anyone read Chrysalis by RinoZ? It's a Litrpg where the MC is an ant, who levels up with game mechanics, sort of like this. Really fun series, good humor and very action packed.

I loved the early chapters of that story but I lost interest after the stone people arc. Too many characters to keep track of

Currently thinking: get some shelter, then either search for food or cultivate, depending on whether we "need to" by then to prevent Quest failure.

Given that we did in fact find food, but it ended up not even being enough to alleviate our hunger I think we need to risk finding a new colony. I'd say cultivate first, but with a snail in the area and no shelter that's probably too risky.
