Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

Something we should consider, because in all honesty it should greatly impact the story, is the repercussions of Anderson using The Nail of Helena in London. Even if this quest contains a mixture of abridged and canonical events (Alucard still removed the nail, for example), Anderson should suffer some lasting effects from using the holy artifact.

Perhaps being temporarily risen to the status akin to that of a 'Lesser' Great One (which, all things considered, was pretty much what the nail did to the paladin) has granted Anderson a subconscious form of 'immunity' to most of the Great One's abilities. He can still suffer headaches, psychic backlashes and the such, but neither the Moon Presence, Oedon or Mergo can actually drive him over the edge after the Red Moon Event.

I for one would love to see Vine Monster Anderson take on the Moon Presence. That said, it's like Alucard liked to say: Only a man can properly kill a monster.

So basically, I'd be fine no matter how we take those bastards out, but I think it may be more appropriate if it's Anderson proper doing the slaying.

Personally I want to Crucify at least one human sized boss at some point in this quest.

Also remember that there is that church hunter at the chapel that was built over the entrance to old Yarnam. What should we do about him? Is it possible to recruit the man since last I checked he is unaware of the church being the source of the beast plague.

Well...the Moon Presence isn't exactly a monster in the normal definition of the word. While it is 'akin' to that of a Great One and possesses power beyond mortal reckoning there is no evidence that it is antagonistic to the player character. On the contrary the Moon Presence is stated (or theorized) to be the only reason the hunters are able to fight back against the beasts plaguing the dream version of Yharnam. It really doesn't do anything against the player character until you spurn Gehrman's offer to peacefully leave the dream and kill him.

By that point the Moon Presence is rightfully pissed at you since it didn't do anything except try to help humanity fight against its 'kin.'

Well there is a crucified Blood-Starved Beast in Old Yharnam, near the altar with the Ritual Blood.

Yeah, I doubt his poison is going to be able to do shit to Anderson.
It is the "biting your head off" move that I am more worried about here, and heavy doze of poison might still slow Anderson down. Which would be bad, considering how fast BSB moves when it attacks.

In regards to the unnamed Hunter with Djura, he is likely another survivor of the Powder Kegs, so he should be a bro too if we get Djura on board.

Also speaking of human-sized bosses, Bloody Crow of Cairnhurst should be a proper challenge for Anderson. Flash-stepping, superhumanly powerful swordmaster might give even him some trouble. Of course, we could borrow Djura's cannon.

...Well then let's Crucify the other one in that area because screw that guy!!! Seriously I hated fighting him!!
Given that not harming the beasts of Old Yharnam is probably going to be a caveat of our alliance with Djura (and hopefully his buddy), we probably wont get an opportunity to try that.

Which is kind of disappointing, if only because I was hoping we could force our way into the Unseen Village through Darkbeast Paarl's gate.

...Though given how badly a Lesser Amygdala troubled us, Paarl might be a bit beyond what we want to encounter at this point. Though I do sort of want to figure out what the darkbeasts' deal is. A skeletal beast that can summon a shroud of electricity (the weakness of kin like the Great Ones) sounds like something that has more than the regular beast plague behind it.
No blood echoes. We can't buy shit.
Well, the Messengers gave us Ludwig's sword for free, maybe the Messengers' Store is more like the Messengers' Donation Box?

How about no? Dying by crucifixion is a great honour. At least according to some stories, the Apostle Peter asked (I think) to be crucified upside-down because he didn't consider it appropriate to die in the same manner as Jesus Christ.

Besides that, which may or may not be Anderson's opinion I'm not sure (I believe some so-called Christians have used crucifixion against their enemies), it's unethical to needlessly- oh wait, this is Anderson (Abridged) we're talking about, plus horrible monsters. Never mind ethics, then.

Torture isn't a Christian practice at all. The Romans wanted to make the execution as painful and humiliating as possible, but Christian mercy demands that if you're going to kill someone, you do it quick and clean.

Anderson has also, to my knowledge, never physically tortured his prey, and his psychological assaults are usually just intimidation tactics, or getting caught up in the joy of violence rather than pleasure in sadism.

Literally the very first attack we ever see Anderson launch is a sadistic act of torture; he hits Seras Victoria with about a dozen thrown bayonets, deliberately missing her heart for the sole purpose of leaving her alive but crippled by agony while he fights Alucard. He ABSOLUTELY takes pleasure in causing his victims pain.

I like to think of that as Anderson's equivalent of a friendly hello. He left her alive, didn't he? The same could not be said for the vampire he exterminated before they got there.
