And Everyone Was Kung Fu Fighting - Kung Fu Cult Dynasty Quest

[x]Tactician : You are skilled in the arts of war. (One reroll per combat miniturn)
[x]Xiangqi Master : Your skill with Xiangqi is a credit to both your reputation and your martial valor. (+2 Martial, +2 Diplomacy, -2 Stewardship)
[x]Schemer : Few things come as naturally to you as sneaky plans. (+4 Intrigue, -2 Piety)

I want an intrigue player, dammit. Everyone always takes it as a dump stat in favor of learning.

Being good at scheming/counter-scheming is huge yeah. A bit of diplo helps with nobles relations.

The rest is just good for fighting, since we are a kung-fu master.

[X] Shadows
Attractive : When it comes down to it, yes, you are just that pretty. (+2 Diplomacy)
Silver-Tongue : You know how to tell people what they want to hear, and to make them want to hear what you have to say. (+2 Diplomacy, +2 Intrigue, -2 Martial)
Oni-Blooded : You've got some Oni in your ancestry. (+6 Martial, -2 Diplomacy, -2 Intrigue)

Because we are a female Kung Fu fighter and have no reason not to be able to sweet-talk people rather than beat them to a bloody pulp. (Though we can do that too!)

Works for me. It covers its flaws well.

[] Tactician : You are skilled in the arts of war. (One reroll per combat miniturn)
[] Fortunate : They say you must have been born under a lucky star, for how often things go your way. (One reroll per turn, costs two trait points.)

Nothing is more important then rerolls.

Everything else is just seems to be minor bonus to rolls (and penalties) without additional effect. Compared to a reroll the difference is huge. With 1d100 range, +2 to +6 would not make a difference for the most part. But a reroll? That's a life saver right there. Only once per turn/mini turn, sure. But it is unlikely we would suffer devastating roll that often to be needing more than one reroll per turn (and if it does happens, all the trait bonus in the world would not save us anyway)

We can fight, we can talk and we can scheme. Provided our die-rolls are good enough.

Also, I see a lot of people forgetting their []'s. You might want to change that if you want your votes counted, because I doubt people are going to do it by hand.

It's hard to argue with the power of a reroll every turn AND every miniturn.

Wasn't expecting people to forsake all other bonuses in favor of a single potential reroll per turn/miniturn, but sure, if people want to.

I'm just saying that, as your traits determine what kind of person you are, you might not want to forsake them... Rerolls are nice, but consistent bonuses both apply to more then one action and keep rerolls from being needed. And more to the point, having the only really notable trait about your character is that she's lucky will have its own effects.

It's a viable choice, I guess, but it's not what I expected people to go for.

In the end, this is your best and first chance to shape who the MC is.

Conflicting.... heck with it. I'll vote back to my original vote.

It's easier to make the tradeoff trait choices if we know the base stats rolled though. Buying a stat which imposes say, -2 to diplomacy would be nothing difficult if you had diplomacy 15 for example, but if you had diplomacy at 9 or 21...that changes things.
