Along Came a Spider or How to be a Hero(Spider-Man/Worm)

I'm going to take, "Do what I could" to mean that if there's anything we can do to help, we'll do it.

If there's nothing we can do to help, then we do nothing.

Though, if she does need to be restrained, I guess webbing her wrists and ankles would work fine, although Taylor probably has issues being trapped.
Common sense says this... Quest sense says "Okay, okay... so we need to keep her from thrashing around, oh, oh, I know! *Fwip, fwip, fwip* There, webbed down. Now she won't thrash around so much. *Taylor* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *Peter* Okay, wrong move."

[x] Did what I could to help her father get her calmed down. This could be a result of those powers she was supposed to gain.

See, that feels like a Spiderman scene right there. I like. Have a like.

Looks like Taylor didn't get her second trigger because we let her out early.

[X] Powers or not I wasn't entirely sure what I could do to help her calm down, so I left that to her father and medical professionals.
-[X] Explain to Danny what you suspect is happening.

We didn't get her out Early, though. She was still in there roughly the same amount of time as she was in canon.

And what do we 'suspect' is happening? In character that is... no meta knowledge... especially since Petey wouldn't have any.

... Are you forgetting the part where we KNOW she gains powers today? It's a thing that has been reiterated in the story posts. All we have to say is "I think she's gained powers" or "I think your daughter's a parahuman."

Eh, good intentions. Spidey has them.

Plus we were the ones to pull her out of the locker. It's not impossible she'd subconsciously recognize us and associate us with safety or something, to help keep herself from breaking down totally. She doesn't exactly have a good relationship with her father.

Or who knows, maybe universal translator on the ring will help us get our words across to Taylor.

These are all worth a shot, I think.

Not sure about what Spider-man can do that a professionnal medical coudn't do better. Ask about her powers? In public?

Sometimes helping means letting people more qualified do their job.

Honestly, it's more that it's a lot easier for me to see Spiderman leap in trying to help than stepping back and let it be someone else's problem.

This isn't some fresh to the mask hero, though. He's been doing the web slinging gig for five years. I think he's experienced enough to know what he can help with and what he can't help with.

And, frankly, if I woke up screaming in the hospital, a creepy bug mask is not what I'd like to see.

Not untrue, but " help" here would be to call the professionnals in as soon as possible.

...Secondary trigger?:p

Hrm.... should we try in for that reason? The secondary trigger that is... getting in her... personal space, telling her to calm down, and all bug eyed mask pretty much the only thing she can see... While she's already hysterical... think that'd do it?

Probably not. Second triggers happen when conditions are sufficiently similar to the conditions of the original trigger.

But spidey doesn't know any of that, so to use that logic would be metagaming.

-[x] Unless it seems her father and the professionals can't handle things for some reason. Then do what you can.

Right now we don't know what to do and the professionals probably do know. So unless the situation starts looking like they can't handle it, let them do their job. However if she starts displaying powers or otherwise makes herself a threat to herself or others we should intervene.

Ehh. *wobbles hand*

You can argue it, but I still think his knee-jerk responses is much more biased towards action than inaction.

Not untrue, but " help" here would be to call the professionnals in as soon as possible.:p

And if the second option were phrased as, "Go get the other doctors," I'd look upon it more favorably. But as it is, the binary choice seems presented as doing something and doing nothing.

-[X] Do we feel her through the web of life/our connection to the spider totem/spider DNA? if so try to calm her through that.
