Along Came a Spider or How to be a Hero(Spider-Man/Worm)

[x] Powers or not I wasn't entirely sure what I could do to help her calm down, so I left that to her father and medical professionals.
-[x] Unless it seems her father and the professionals can't handle things for some reason. Then do what you can.

[X] Did what I could to help her father get her calmed down. This could be a result of those powers she was supposed to gain.
-[X] Do we feel her through the web of life/our connection to the spider totem/spider DNA? if so try to calm her through that.

Her second trigger isn't a good thing at this point. Second triggers trade off SOMETHING, always. Best to save it for a real crisis.

I don't see anything about a web of life/connection to the spider totem in the character sheet.

And, frankly, looking for a connection through arachnid life is metagaming, since Peter has no information about what powers she gets, merely that she gets some.

uurgh this is a terrible decision to make Spidey in-character would try to help but helping her means she could be losting her (maybe)potential second trigger that could help her in the future but spidey dont know that so maybe is for the best to try to help her after we chose to always save someone if we have the power...and there is someone needing help right in front of us... Sigh changing vote

Frankly, my first impression was that this was a choice like the "Go help Taylor in the locker" or "Leave her and go to the Protectorate." In which Halpo didn't actually think we'd ever choose the latter, but this gives some player agency and it was a good stopping point.

Are you serious?

Nevermind that the first teams would be the Invaders and the Howling commandos in WW2, ignoring really obscure ones like the Brotherhood of the SHIELD( why yes, Da Vinci was a superhero!), Spider-man is in no way a founding member of the Avengers. Hell, I'm not even sure Spider-man existed when the team was founded. His first attempt to join a team was with the F4. It was in his second issue iIrc and it ended with him being thrown out of the Baxter Building and told to never come back. That pretty much set the tone of his relationship with other heroes for decades. It only really improved in the 21st century, and that Spidey is closer to 30 than 20.
Oops, I derped pretty hard. I thought that he'd been retconned in.

" With great power become great responsibility"

And here we go,we play fix Taylor life as Peter Parker like I said before.

With great power comes great responsibility, She believed in Heroes, and I refuse to disappoint her. That is what defines our spiderman of course when this ends we can focus on the saving the world

Her second trigger didn't help her so hugely later on, and more importantly, meant that she had no second trigger respec left when she actually needed it.

Wildbow confirmed it before, second triggers just rearrange your powerset. She lost something to get super bug multitasking powers, it could be range, it could be scope of powers, it could be mental stability or ability to trust.

I'm used to PMAS and every vote is a Write-in request basicly. It's a huge writein fest there. I dunno how Halpo wants to do it, but he might not want Write-ins unless he requested em? Or doing stunts? Unsure.

Idle thoughts.

I don't mind write-ins at all. I like write-ins. And the more detailed and well thought out the better.

As for Taylor's second trigger. It's unknown when she second triggered if she ever did. So if she has in this quest it would be in the locker as well, and thus already happened.

OOC knowledge: The reason she's freaking out right now is that she went from being trapped in a locker to insensate and delirious, to unconscious, to waking up in a hospital room with the sensory feedback of all the bugs in a block sending her information on their location and their senses, though she can't quite process that yet. It's not harming her, and she can deal with it. She just doesn't know she can yet, and hasn't had any time to adjust to having this information overload going on.

Thank you. That insistence that she she was gonna second trigger here was kind of annoying, since we had no way to know one way or another.

Yeah. I mean, going by the web serial she could have second triggered in the locker, or after. But it's never explicitly stated that she does. So if she has(Not decided on that) then it would have already happened.

Now. I'm going to go back to contemplating how a team up fight with Spidey and Mouse Protector would work out.

One word: Hilariously

DoOoOOoO EEEEEET DOooOoOOO eeeeeeeeeEEEeET

Because she's a Silver Age superhero in a world of depressing grimderp. A ray of LIGHT and HAM and CHEESE in a sea of blackness!

And then the Slaughterhouse 9 happened.

Oh
My
God

That will be epic. Mouse Protector has become one of my favorites now after being used (well!) in a few fics.

Do
IT!

Spider totem thing was one of the things that I really liked with Spider-man. But Peter never really put much stock to it, despite knowing contrary. Besides he really didn't feel anything through totem before. Even in the Grim Hunt, and he was delirious from the fever at the time, there were no totemic feeling mumbo jombo. Only female spiders had that feeling I thing. I remember that Madam Webb mentioning that the Male protects the web, while the female sees and interacts with it.

What would make this awesome is that Taylor getting the ability to see the web, that would create something great.
