Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 13: Myopic Maker Mistakenly Mobilizes Mega-Marrow

I'd actually appreciate it if you removed this, as I changed a decent amount in the parts I previewed earlier in the thread. Not fully rewritten, mind you, but there are some larger changes that might be missed that are going to be relevant down the road.
Are you sure you posted the right version? I had just reread the reposted versions and I can detect only two small changes. You didn't even correct the typos.

The changes I detect are Weld's comment about names, and Marrow's line about "failure is not an option" and the narration immediately prior.

The typos I noticed were the quicksilver/silverstreak issue and the "the fights any fights " line.

You said that there are changes that are supposed to be important in going forward, but despite having read the original versions multiple times and the new version I simply can't see anything other than what I have already posted. I am simply going to have to ask for help and ask you what significant changes you are talking about.

"That's terrible scientific ethic. You should be ashamed." And then they would keep asking you for explanations while trying to figure it out on their own at the same time. Tech Review can be bypassed with sufficient approval from higher-ups, but that requires your higher-ups to endorse what you're doing.
Then tell them it works like Myrrdin's powers, operating under different laws of physics.

Or that it's something like Dauntless's powers.

The more we understand about aspects of Authocthonia (and by extension Authocthon), the better and more convincingly we might be able to explain it. I think it would help in our so far lackluster performance in convincing people to help us with our goals. As for Stealth, I'd like to have more than one way of being sneaky. Plus, refer to FunkyEntropy's post that I quoted in the last page or so.

Edit: I was accidentally mixing Optical Shroud and IAT. Fixed.
Actually I wonder if *-Performance (Teaching ●○○) might also be applicable to expaining it to others (after all to a certain extent explaining something and teaching are connected), but then again I don't really understand all the skills

I just tried to go to the first page in the thread, and all I'm getting is a blank.

Either my computer is acting weird, or SV is.

If it's SV, then Grom may need to start the new thread 'now.'

I see the point on Stealth, having now read the mentioned post. I dunno about Lore, though. It seemed to me that the only real way we're going to convince skeptics is hard evidence. We're essentially doing the Commander Shepard. No one's going to buy the story unless we produce something tangible to back it up.

I'm having DragonBard's problem as well.

"Here, a successfully Alchemicalized Marrow! Say hi, Marrow! Do you assholes believe me now?!"
In politer language of course...

I'm having DragonBard's problem as well.
*frowns* That's interesting...Sayaka Quest thread 10 is over 250 pages and not experiencing any issues...

People go easy on the specialties. Usually it is better to spend a little more xp to get another dot. There are several exeptions.

1. You already have 5 dots in the relevant ability.
2. The specialty in question includes the vast majority of uses for the ability that you expect to have. If you need to buy a second specialty for that ability you shouldn't have gotten the first one. If it isn't a synonym for ability(what I was doing anyway) it isn't good enough.

Teaching isn't a critical skill for us being good at it is enough. It's basically a hobby and training. All of the important uses we're going to have for performance don't include it, like inspiring people or giving presentations. It is a waste of xp. If we want more performance get another dot in it.

Generally 5 dots in an ability is enough unless our base stat sucks or if we intend to be doing near impossible feats with it that have high failure costs like combat.

Well, the three specialties I have in my proposal qualify then. Getting anything good equipment wise is a near impossible feat with fucking YG on our case, Lore is always good, and so is the Dodge specialty with the fights we're about to get into.

When did we interact with Accord? Did I miss something?
Read the update.
When we went to the cradle to exalt Marrow.

I don't agree.
Telling the Wards about Exaltation. Doing the same for Protectorate capes.
Giving pre-mission briefings before S-class events.
These are just some of the cases where that specialty should be applicable.

It's one thing to argue that we should prioritize other specialties at the moment, another to claim that it's worthless.
It's not.

Because we're too focused on SAVING THE WORLD and not spending enough time relaxing and being a kid and hanging out with people our age.
So, given that, how should we approach the situation? I see four options:
1) Take a day off. If we're relaxing, we can't be overworking, right?
2) Use our Bureaucracy dots to figure out what their exact complaints are, and work towards addressing them, either by scaling back or proving that they're unfounded/unnecessary.
3) Try to get someone more senior than ourselves to overrule them (assuming this is even possible).
4) Turtle up. If they don't have any evidence that we're overworking ourselves, then they can't have anything to complain about.

Accord was there to oversee the building of the structure over the crater, and we spoke with him. He seemed enamored of the perfection of our form.

Or maybe we devote one interval every update for the next arc to relaxing and socializing with the Wards and other people our age? As long as we can demonstrate that we're not "losing out on our childhood" and "being taken advantage of" by the PRT we should be good. Grom said Arc 7 will be just about Marrow readjusting and patrolling so we can afford to delegate to others when it comes to preparing for the nine.

We really need to get a psychologist to sign off on the overworking thing. Think we could sell that our 'power' affects our ability to handle stress, and that productivity is more relaxing to us than idling by? Youth Guard can back the hell off if we can spin it so that they're making life harder for us by 'helping'.

Unfortunately we already demonstrated multiple 'stress related breakdowns' in public

SV is.
I scrolled all the way back to page 2.
But attempts at accessing page 1 time out.

Other long threads(Warhammer Fantasy: The Others, at 613 pages) don't show that problem.
Odd.

Hmmm.

Yamada: What's that commisioner Director? Weaver is under assault by the dastardly Youth Guard? Quick Sveta TO THE YAMADA-MOBILE! *Yamada and Sveta slide down poles to the Yamada-cave in a Batman costume along with a Robin costume specially modified for Sveta*

I don't usually have a problem with Clarity, but I think we handled it very badly. We should have passed it off as exactly what it is, an aspect of our enhanced psychology designed to let us function through high stress scenarios and difficult decisions without a loss of effectiveness or emotional damage.

Damn. Damn damn damn. Can we get Dragon to help with the emancipation ordeal? I'm sure we can do it on our own, but she's widely trusted, and could maybe sponsor us?

Or adopt us? Would that be doable?
