And the Anwa in general are dicks. We've made some friends among them and a useful contact or two, but their culture leaves a lot to be desired. I don't want our people dying for them.
Then if you don't want to save the clans then we should at least save our allies rather than leave than at the hands of the deamons.

The thing is, they're not stupid. By possessing royalty, they have an entire army and island population between them and any threats they might face. We don't have anywhere close to the ability to carve our way through an army to get at the daemons.
Yes, and they will come for us be we are proven to be a threat so will send agents to kill us sooner o later. So we will have to face them eventually whether we like it or not.

If we stay, there will surely be stuff for us to do, but it won't be anything like adventuring. There will be politics and Fey, and if we end up fighting, it will probably be as just one more ship among many in a war against the forces of Korman, the largest and most populous island in the Anwa region. Politics is not necessarily bad, but I'd rather adventure and see new places and new people.

The situation in Apuku is also getting ugly, and I don't want to have to worry about assassination attempts, dealing with clans that have grudges against us, etc.
So than try to make the situation on Apuku better, you'd rather we go off on a different adventure because dealing with assassination attempts, hostile clans, Fey, etc, is too bothersome?

At the very least, we should try to make things better before they get worse.

Edit: I saw your reasoning for wanting to leave earlier, I don't really agree but I understand.
If they are anything like regular daemons they'll get themselves destroyed eventually, bringing up the united mediterran forces against them or something like that.
Yeah, like that's going to happen. These demons aren't stupid, they know they'll get crushed if everyone unites against them so they'll keep up the masquerade for as long as they can until they have the power to take on the Mediterranean.

I will admit that "Lol have fun with daemons" is not a particularly flattering way of essentially abandoning these people. I'd also point out that adventuring in this sorta setting whilst we let the world burn behind us is kinda…suspect in terms of Roland's character.

And this is e6, which means we cannot 'level up enough' to make the matter trivial. Ever.

We literally have no way to make it better. We're far from the strongest people who will be involved in any fighting, and the only way it will end is by fighting a war to kill everyone currently protecting the daemons. If we get involved here, it'll be as subordinates of a king and culture we don't particularly like and whose values are very much different than those of Roland and his men. Because of the culture and clans, we'll be worrying about betrayal by our supposed allies the entire time, too.

And then the daemons have to be killed, and we are completely unequipped for that. They're Outsiders capable of becoming Incorporeal and possessing people. More likely than not, if they're about to lose, they'll just relocate to a new host while they plot their next move. It takes very specific magic to deal with that kind of foe.

Ya'll might not remember it, but Roland and his men had just gotten finished with one war shortly before the Marcella was transported here. He's thoroughly tired of war and wants no part of another one. Do you think Antonio wants to sail Marcella, his ship, home, livelihood, etc., into a war we can avoid? Half the reason we left Orinilu in such a hurry was to avoid being pressed into service to fight in the war between them and the Tin League.

@DragonParadox , we voted for "Accompany the Stout Ones as the seek to understand the spirit of the island (Insights/???)". What about it?

What does our companions think about this situation?

Since keeping the character consistent is my job as the GM I will note on this point that the war is not here yet, all these people have had is a bad raiding season. He is worried about what might happen, but there is no guarantee that it will so while leaving would come with doubts about that, staying will come with doubts about swearing himself to a foreign king he knows nothing about. He has not had the best of luck with overlords.

Both options are in character and both of them will come with their own compromises because that is just how life works. The best path may be clear in hindsight, but not foresight.

There was no time to take that, I did the math for the journey wrong and that was the only one I could not fit in there

As for your companions
  1. Antonio can see the profit in both situations. With the Marcella being home to not one but two mages and Ohun gone there could be a hefty reward in this, but on the other hand great trade opportunities
  2. Inge would like to stay and offer some help, but she is unsure if she is strong enough so she will defer to Roland's judgement
  3. Zaia is inclined to leave as he sees that as a way to advance his understanding of magic, he has no interest in fighting a war
  4. Esha is worried about how her presence will be taken in the city and the court, but she does trust that you have enough influence to smooth things over

We're currently on Gran Canaria off the west coast of Africa. "Going North" doesn't mean we're sailing for the Arctic Circle.

The Pride of Koire is heading north to trade for tin, so their most likely destination is the Iberian Peninsula, which was a major supplier of the metal in ancient times. It's unlikely they intend to go further than that, given the whole ice age thing.

Not quite, you are on Fuerteventura and are heading north to the White Lands which are the not-Island of Britain for Tin. The journey will be dangerous, that is why it is so profitable, it is a way to get tin that is not regulated by the Tin League, the rivals of Orinilu with which they are at war.

Missed it by this ] [ much.

Maybe even this ][ much, since I think those two islands are close enough to one another that my fingertip would cover both if I had a globe handy. :p

I'm all right with a dangerous voyage. In Marcella we trust!

So we're sailing into dangerous waters if we run away. Great.

Assuming there's still a Orinilu there when we get back.

I still think it an awful idea to sail to Britain and leaving the Mediterranean to the demons. What if they take over our trading partners while we are away eh?
