A World of Mud and Sweat - A Future Nation Development Quest

[X] Fusion Nasserist-Communist-El Harar coalition.

This is the only real option here. To make a case for this, not only to my peers but Dadarian: there is a reasonable justification for this not only to be pursued but to have much more political value then it would have had in the 70s.

The Nasserists should have learned the lesson that alienating themselves from the communists is self-sabotaging. Especially when their main reason for doing so in the past was they refused to work with the stooges of Moscow. This is no longer the case and there is largely no reason why Nasserists and Arab Communists couldn't share large swathes of political platforms due to ideological overlap. In addition to this, when I developed the write-in for El-Harar, I wrote him to be a young Nasser, which was the in-joke. There is no reason why the Nasserists wouldn't support him if he aligned more closely to the new emerging dominant force in Egyptian politics. We can make this work, and if @Dadarian requires this to be a custom write-in to explain, I have no problem doing so.

[X] Fusion Nasserist-Communist-El Harar coalition.

Seems like the most logical way to go and for the easiest way to form a coalition government

[X] Stability and improvement Coalition [324 seats]. (Moderates/Technocrats/Nasserists)
[X] Forward Thinking coalition [308 Seats]. (El-Harir Independents/Technocrats/Nasserists)

So I dont want to do a coalition with the communists, judging by there blurb in the media post. As someone who voted for technocrats though I want to include them. So I have to different coalitions:

1) The Stable Moderates (be a stabilizing influence to make sure things dont move to quick), the Realistic Technocrats (the numbers man, the numbers) and the Forward thinking Nasserists.
2) The Realistic Technocrats (Numbers) Forward thinking Nasserists (thats there blurb in the media post) and the stablizing influence of El-Harar independents (Making sure they stay focused on the home front)

Felt like making alternate plans.

[X] Forward Thinking coalition [308 Seats]. (El-Harir Independents/Technocrats/Nasserists)

Eh it's different, so why not?

[X] Fusion Nasserist-Communist-El Harar coalition.

And of course the Communists were the only ones who actually respected democracy.

[X] Fusion Nasserist-Communist-El Harar coalition.

Well this will be an interesting time to be alive in Egypt to be sure, although this does leave me wondering if I should be worried that this will immediately reorganize into a Soviet State or if the things we are going to see in the future are nationalizations and things like that.

2079; A Year in Round up

GLOBAL NEWS NETWORK
Your Globe, Your News, Your Network

New York City - A Happy New Year to all from the GNN family! In this special edition report we provide a round up of the biggest news of the year. From Cairo to China, Brasilia to Burma, we have the most trustworthy news in the world!

Revolution leads to Questionable elections in Egypt; In the liberal spirit of the New Middle East, Egypt's creaking dictatorship under el-Sisi's Nation's Future fell to the silvered words of Mr. Husayn El-Harar. Despite his promises of freedom, El-Harar's new regime was found to be protectionist, rejecting the outreached hands of foreign business both big and small. To make things worse the most recent election was marred by inconsistencies and violence, while returning El-Harar's unique brand of leftism through a coalition of sycophants, communists, and pan-Arabists. GNN contributor analysts decried the electoral results, even in the wake of European support for the Egyptian president and his electoral success, with Deputy Representative for Foreign Affairs Olena Panchuk calling the media a "firestorm of bullshit".
Peace in Libya?; Speaking of President El-Harar, his response to the typical Libyan warlordism was the establishment of the nascent State of Cyrenaica. Although poor, dependent on foreign support, and sporting only spotted administration of it's claimed area, Cyrenaica is a source of hope nonetheless. It's the most stable state to arise in Libya since Tauregia seized mud-ports in the south over a decade ago.
Latest Amazonian ploy fails; Hopes to rapidly regrow the Amazon again collapsed as the company which had so successfully re-greened the Sinai imploded following reports of the CEO's arrest in Miami for tax fraud. An investigation financed by the shareholders of New World Greening found that Matt Popov, longtime CEO, had been illegally funneling sections of his projects into his personal bank accounts with hopes that the prestige of his successes would cover. Alas, exorbitant spending habits and his former secretary turning state's evidence in relation to a third, undeclared crime, brought down one of the most photographed modern businessmen. Further examination into his projects across the world are expected, however in the mean time it is unknown who, if anyone, will pick up the slack in the polluted Amazonian savanna.
Australia re-colonized!; The first internationally recognized colony on the mainland, led by New Zealand explorer and daredevil Timothy Kapen, was founded near the ruins of Sydney in April. Accompanied by a delegation of Aborigines, some survivors of the original deathstorm, this is hailed as a turning point towards the previously inhabited land. Images of gigantic tribes of kangaroos, numbering in the hundreds, fighting with one another over food were turned into memes throughout the internet.
Bombing in Baghdad shows open wounds; The Ramadan bombing in Baghdad, killing 18 and wounding another 50, showed how the love story of the Middle East was not all flowers and sunshine. The Iraqi Council of Representatives had splintered responses, in line with foreign support. The Kurdish Alliance, a Neom-backed party, denounced the accusations by the Free Peoples Party, a Turkish-backed organization, that a radical Kurd was responsible. Meanwhile, Tehran supported Fatah Alliance declared the action an American-false flag attempting to once again level sanctions against the Iranian Republic. The government has yet to release a full post-mortem, and no group has declared responsibility for the action.
Eighth Party System?; With the recent American mid-terms results, discussions over the end of the Seventh Party System, commonly noted as beginning in 2016, are popping in American academia. The widespread success of the Conservative Party, a break-away third party of discontented fiscal conservatives who are fed up with the theatric antics of the modern Republicans and the free-wheeling spending of the Democrats, has been seen with real concern by both said parties. Former President Eric Trump gave a strong denunciation, saying that the Conservative Party broke hard from his father's image while Former Speaker Ocasio-Cortez said it was a return to the imperialist principles of a bygone era. Nevertheless, the Conservatives returned heartily in the suburbs, West Coast, and North East, and now hold the balance of power in the House of Representatives.
First baby in space!; The Earth welcomed the first human born off it's native planet. Young Neriene, the child of astronaut-colonists Col. John Ramirez and Lt. Alice Lee, was born of March 8th, 2078. Part of the International Martian program, the child was celebrated globally by space nerds and futurists alike. Bringing the colony population total up to 18, this is hoped to be the start of a long and illustrious story of mankind's place among the stars.
End of Sino-Indian border clashes; The latest clashes between the two powers occurred in the northern Kashmir range near Aksin Chin. Ultimately costing the lives of 8 Indian and 14 Chinese soldiers, a high-level summit in Tokyo between the two nuclear powers allowed for de-escalation to successfully occur. It is thought that the Chinese Premier had hoped to distract the population from the excesses of the Second Cultural Revolution, but it had escalated near out of control once India's carrier fleet, led by the INS Ajatashatru, made the ceremonial pass through the Taiwanese strait. The world breathes a sigh of relief at the latest threat of nuclear Armageddon ending peacefully.

2079; The Sinai Affair

The Sinai Affair

Overview: The coalition was an easy choice for the President, a collection of likeminded individuals that crossed the leftist spectrum in Egypt. Better yet, the opposition was divided, with pot shots being taken by factions seeking influence even at this early date. With a new cabinet formed, a Nasserist speaker sworn in, and a strong platform to work on, the future seemed bright. That was until the arrest of Matthew Popov for corruption, and the subsequent investigation of the entire greening project in the Sinai. The Sinai Greening, the multibillion dollar project that was hailed as the cornerstone of a new ecologically regenerative era, was a boondoggle. Investigators found receipts for materials that never arrived, billed to companies that were never involved, from individuals that did not exist. It was just the opening week of the investigation, and they had discovered the millions of dollars were lost to unknown parties. The news was declared top secret, and a meeting called to handle any further action.

Unfortunately, that was not the only surprise born of the new year. Pan-Arabic protestors, inspired by the successes of their kin in Egypt, showed their face across the Middle East. They initially showed some promise when in Tunisia, a by-election saw a Pan-Arabic deputy elected in a close match-up against an entrenched liberal. But that was the only good news. A pan-Arabic club in Neom was shot-up by a messy police action, which resulted in protests and even more bloody police reprisals. The Iraqi government, on it's edge from a recent suicide bombing in the capital, collapsed after elements of the administration broke away to form their own pan-Arabic list. Militia leaders returned to Mosul and Baghdad, and forcing the President to issue a new election in hopes of bringing forth some sort of stability. Worse, neo-Gaddafists in Tripoli called a revolutionary struggle against the pan-Arab movement, and began moving east. Supported by the neo-Gaddafist regime in Chad, they had the trucks, ammunition, and fervor to make things difficult.

All this resulted in a diplomatic shift. Bi-lateral talks between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, the first since the death of King Mohammad bin Salman in 2075, resulted in joint condemnation of "Egyptian foreign interference". European leaders outside of Italy stopped answering diplomatic correspondence, even while conducting a good-will tour across the Arab world. Only the President of the Italian Senate and some trade dignitaries are expected to make an appearance in New Cairo, while the rest of the European delegation will head on to Jerusalem. The only seemingly strengthened relationship was an unexpected set of businessmen from Mercosur, who wished to open up further cooperation between Egypt and the South American attempt at an EU.

What shall be done about the Tripoli column?

What shall be done about the pan-Arab actions across the Middle East?
[ ] Write In.

Shall the South Americans be entertained?
[ ] Yes; what do these men have to say specifically?
[ ] No; send them back to their polluted lands.

I'd make a plan but I don't understand what's going on with pan-Arabism or Tripoli.

I do think we should do a full investigation, and speak with the South Americans.

I'd say an open and full investigation. As for Tripoli, probably stationing forces along the Western border of Cyrenica if we haven't already, to deter them if they're going to stop and to end them if they don't. Can't exactly have neo-Gaddafists running around. Pan-Arabic sentiment is nice, but encouraging mass revolts and/or revolutionary activity would probably put us on the hit list of multiple nations if we're not on their lists already and probably just end up pissing more people off than not, so probably just stick to cooling rhetoric and tacit support. And as for the South Americans, why not? Any one that wants to open relations means good business, at least usually.

Overall, we need to look good to the world or else become a pseudo or full-on pariah state, and that's something no one can afford, not the least a recovering nation.

I vote we support Pan-Arab groups, but perhaps not too much or too openly until we're a bit more well situated.

While I do lean towards the investigation being thorough and public because transparency and all that, I do understand the appeal of having the investigation be done in secret. Considering that we are a newly democratized society, anything that will shake the faith in the government is likely to be a bad thing.

Yeah the Tripoli affair is something that will likely be resolved by our Army being parked and entrenched so we can at least deter them from doing something stupid while preparing for the worst if it ever comes to that.

Regarding the Pan-Arab movement, diplomatic support and the like would be nice to show solidarity and all that while encouraging them to work with the current administration is likely the solution.

And regarding the South Americans, I see no reason why we should reject their diplomatic overtures.

[X] Plan: It's time for a risky action, enter Latin America
[X] Secret - Begin a full investigation.
[X] Leave the Tripoli alone, for the moment, (keep the military fair) .
[X] let things run their course with the pan-Arabs without Egyptian interference.
[X] And it is; what do these men have to say specifically?
