[] Emerald Gyre of Aeons Style

The image of Grace taking drugs is one I never thought I'd be imagining, but it's a pretty funny one.

[X] Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style

...But I like the vibes of PAoC more.

I don't find it particularly funny. Not my brand of humor. What I do find funny is the idea of Grace dealing with a particularly odious official and needing to flare up her false dragonblood Anima as part of a lead up to demanding his aid and the aid of those he commands. Grace will never escape persecution by her circle mates for the stereotypical dragonblood theatrics.

Neat style, has a ton of uses, and while its still a ways away Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Form makes for some really neat combos.

Punching people into ducks, nuff said.

I'm highly tempted to stay out of it because the problem is I was thinking the Duck Punch was not on the table but I didn't know the system well enough to know what each style would do.
But now I hear the Duck Punch is available and I can't resist.
The comedy factor alone…

When people joke about "duck punch", what they mean is Pattern Spider Touch, a Charcoal March of Spiders charm. It's one of the last charms in the style, though -- In Third Edition, Sidereal Martial Arts run from Essence 3 to Essence 5. Since Grace is only just learning her first SMA, you can infer that she's Essence 3. PST is Essence 4.

We're not directly using the game mechanics in this quest, but that can tell you a bit about how deep into this style the power in question is with this information.

Pattern Spider Touch is a very powerful body, fate, and mind shaping technique that can reweave a person's fate to permanently transform them into a different person, an animal, or an object. "Punch someone into a duck" is the meme version, it's quite a horrifyingly versatile thing to inflict on someone.

Interesting. Could you describe one of the none combat applications of prismatic arrangement of creation?

Genuinely difficult decision between this and Prismatic. Time powers and drug trips are ultimately more attractive but damn the essence stuff woulda been cool.

PAoC has a remarkable number of non combat uses, moreso than most SMA styles. Just off the top of my head:
  • Four Magical Materials Form grants Sidereal Resonant (that is to say, becomes really good with) with Jade, Oriachalcum and Moon silver, which are materials they normally are Dissonant (that is to say, really awful with) with. Granted, most Artifacts and their Evocations are generally used for combat purposes, but it's still utility which opens up a lot of otherwise impractical options.
  • Exalt Ways allows Sidereals to mimic other Exalted and their Anima Banners, including Aspect Markings for Dragon-Blooded.
  • God Ways allows them to possess and hide inside objects, allowing for easy spying.
  • Spell Shattering Palm is anti-magic/sorcery, plain and simple.
  • There's a fate magic equivalent as well, though I forget the name of it.
  • Games of Divinity Form creates addictions in those who view, which can be exploited by the Sidereal for social uses.
And so on, I know for a fact that I'm missing a few here in this list.

I am a sucker for a style that challenges the user. the one style I wanted to see more the CMoS is SVoP but CMoS sounds awesome here

Prismatic also comes with a lot of versatility and interesting research which would have Grace reading up on exotic supernatural places and creatures.

Personally, I kind of have trouble picturing grace engaging in Timey Wimey Nonsense, even to win a fight.

Exalt Ways allows Sidereals to mimic other Exalted and their Anima Banners, including Aspect Markings for Dragon-Blooded.
The most significant part of this power is less the Aspect Markings and more anima flux and aura. Most magic that can disguise one Exalt type's anima as another's has a weakness where it can duplicate Dragon-Blooded anima visually/audibly/whatever, but it's an illusion. The fire doesn't burn, the thorns don't poison etc. They also can't mimic Dragon-Blooded aura, which is a thing that makes Dragon-Blooded much better at using the Immaculate Dragon Styles than other kinds of Exalts.

Ways of Exaltation lets you turn your anima and the trappings of your magic into, say, fire, and it really will burn things, and you can use Fire Dragon Style like a Dragon-Blood can, as long as WoE is up and you're not using weapons. Four Magical Materials Form also lets you use the innate magic of an artifact weapon you have while unarmed, which helps for this.

For the sake of fairness, Emerald Gyre also has cool out of combat tricks, although not as extensively as PAoC. Like, off the top of my head, the first charm in the style lets you rewind time for an object -- you can repair a broken door, turn a skeleton back into a corpse, or even fix a broken artifact if it was broken less than a day ago.

The heart wants what it wants. And what it wants is a tragic showdown where Grace uses Spell-Shattering Palm on one of Ambraea's spells.

My personal favorite of the gemstone SMA. It's use of drugs and emphasis on drawing from past and future versions of yourself makes me curious about possibly seeing glimpses of Wayward Prayer. Rope darts and kusarigama are part of its weapone repertoire, and Grace's stunts with those was one of my favorite parts of the Wyld Hunt in Last Daughter. Last but not least, its scripture features Time, who is the closer of the Scripture of the Expectant Maiden. It would be really interesting to see what insight she derives from what is essentially a refutation of the philosophy of her Birth Sign.
