A Villain In A World Of Heroes

[X] Trait: Stonekin

and then we were even harder to kill.

edit: vote change, because I thought it said Stoneskin, not Stonekin.

Traits are forever usually. Passive>active abilities.

[] Trait: Stonekin

[] Trait: Stonekin
Traits are good, but would it alter our appearance/weight/etc? We need to hidden/etc. If we end up sinking a boat/etc because of this...
[] Artifact: Divine Hand-Axe
Weapon, 'Divine' makes it more appealing but not enough.

[X] Boon: Necklace of Life
Life related. Could be healing, could increase our HP pool, could be straight up "you die, and the necklace makes you un-die".
All those sound good.

Guys, we can get the trait easily. We just need to eat the heart of a stone golem. Seems easier than adventuring for the necklace.

It won't

No, you can't. For one, stone golems don't have hearts.

I will say this, every one of these are you unique. You might be able to get something similar, but not these exact things.

Also, in the case of the Hand-Axe, it is a really good weapon. Like one of those that would be called The Blade of Glorious Slaughter. Just like the other things, the name is just a hint/overview.

I am very tempted to get the axe, but the reason I chose not to is because we have no training with axes, and we're not exactly flush with free time at the moment.

I'm honestly hoping that stonekin gives us bonuses when working stone or conversing with dwarves and other earthy people. Extra defense is good, but between the elk regeneration and our armor, damage shouldn't be too much of a danger to us.

That's also the reason I'm not voting for the necklace. We already have some regeneration, so getting something we don't have seems more important.

as wise man once said: "you can never have too much hp."

The necklace might also be a resurrection thing in addition to healing/reducing damage.
Stonekin is potentially good, but might also have down sides and since it's a trait we couldn't switch it off.
(Stonekin is definitely extra defense at minimum, Necklace is some form of regen at minimum.)

It's a tossup for me over Stonekin and Necklace of Life. That 'Life' part makes me think more strong regen/resurrection rather than just 'Necklace of Healing'. Might just be 'Immunity to Undead + Undead Slayer', but that's a long shot.

Kin. There is no s before the k, after all.
Huh. Would have completely missed that.

On the weapon: Remember that divine weapons can allow killing certain "unkillable" types of things. Dunno how our summoned imp would feel about it, though. Angel-imp would think it was cool. Might even give it a boost.

The weapon is an artifact, while the necklace is a boon. A boon is generally a one-time thing, so it's probably a "free life", one time only special deal. Not going to be a boost to HP/regen/whatever.

So, for me it's between Stonekin and the Divine Hand-axe.

Stonekin is something that sounds like it might affect our magic. Might make earth magic easier, but possibly make other magics harder.

Given that we're here to specifically train our magic from the ground up, I'd rather not take a god's blessing to affect that. Our magic is our hard work alone.

So, I'm going to settle on the artifact.

Yeah, I want the axe. Even if it's not our main, I feel like having something with 'Divine' in the bag can only be good. Probably leads to something regarding the Dwarven God too.

Yooou make a good point.

Maybe we could convince some dwarfs to make some gear for us since Garm likes us - many would be curious about the shrine at least.

That's assuming three things.
1. That Stone Golems have hearts.
2. That we can kill a Stone Golem.
3. That the Trait-gain-through-eating-hearts continues to exist outside of the Trial of Blood.

(It was a joke)

@Dark Ness, will StoneKin have any negatives coming out of it?
