Man, how the hell does Hunger's brain stay inside his skull, that's the real magic right there. He might be the most skilled guy we've ever had quest-wise, what the fuck. This fight was rad as shit.

I think Vanreir's strike was only cherry on top of the Praxis exertion cake.Though, that silver light bleeding from the Forebear's Blade doesn't seem like a good sign... Probably the price for replicating Vanreir's strike at Procyon.
I think it was more like Hunger cycled through ideas until one of them stuck. So, did anyone else notice we kinda did all three of the vote options? We went for the alpha strike a la His Shroud was Down, then we tried to pull Seize the Day, and finally, while we didn't shatter the Forebear's Blade, we did crack it.
Well, I feel kind of bad about that, now.Hunger turned blearily to regard her. "Two reasons. First, he was prideful and thought he had won, that there was nothing I could do to defy him. And second, he had a crush on you."
"W-what!? H-how would you- But he never said any-"
"The Plenary Brand broadcasts one's intentions for all the world to see. He never had any intention of letting you die, or even of coming to harm. Not so for the rest of us."
Possibly a problem or crack in Uttermost? Which is a Defining Advancement to boot. And the pre-requisite to the first Blade EFB we got, Cut Through, which got us the Praxis. We also overdrew on the Praxis a lot in this fight.I think Vanreir's strike was only cherry on top of the Praxis exertion cake.
I wonder what kind of condition it will be. A diminishment to OaF and other Forebear-centric upgrades? Just a massive debuff to our physicality and will? Something worse?
Just buy the incoming Plenary Brand adancement that these picks will surely offer. It really is too bad that we don't have an Astral Film Crew to follow us around and broadcast our bullshit. Seeing 'literally just a guy with a sword' kill their First Armament would probably set the Republic on edge.
Let's hope he's dead for good. He's a Letrizia stan and that's unacceptable. Imagine being such a simp that you use your status as a WMD-pilot to break down a literal fucking wall to get to your favorite e-girl.Is Procyon slain for good? Or merely defeated and needing major repairs? And is the pilot in resurrectable condition, or is he super-duper turbo-dead?
I'm of the opinion that this was absolutely awesome, and we should never, ever do it again. Like, ever.
It's Rihaku, so probably a combination? I imagine we're going to have to choose between taking REALLY punishing temporary conditions (and risk getting killed by the NEXT Apocryphal proc) or giving up some of our Rank or Advancements.
On the bright side Pillars is only a day and change away. Any conditions or lost advancements can be healed as long as we use Pillars properly. There's no good time to get crippled but right now is the best bad time.
As promised a month ago, I'm on team COMFY for our time in Pillars. We should be eating peaches, teaching Aobaru how to play chess, and writing letters to our new penpal Haeliel.
I mean, we also beat that ghost-knight we almost died to, and then the Tiller Wurm which we also almost died to, and the Rotbeast which we... also... almost died to...
I don't think it's possible to earn Haeliel points by disappointing her, I'd say we probably did her proud. The most important thing about this update though - can you imagine how proud Haeliel is right now? are we gonna be tough enough for headpats when next we meet, or will we have to settle for praise from onee-chan?
There's no way she's disappointed, right?

Well, she probably isn't disappointed in our level of accomplishments in combat, but the Haeliel points gotten from standing our ground were explicitely stated to not indicate Haeliel's approval of the decision, so she might be disappointed in our decision-making skills. The most important thing about this update though - can you imagine how proud Haeliel is right now? are we gonna be tough enough for headpats when next we meet, or will we have to settle for praise from onee-chan?

I said I would go back to work, and i promise that I will soon...
but instead I reread the update. Technically, the Walls are only damaged and "thinning" but not necessarily destroyed wholesale. Procyon never actually pierced them, and they were still stable enough for Adorie to be standing on top of them.
Also: Adorie tried to use her bloodline to stem the bleeding from the Forebear's Blade. If that doesn't validate our investment in Nilfel, I don't know what will. She's a good friend.
