[ ] Crush Them. The Lord Protector has deployed the Tenth Legion as a vanguard force while the remaining two act as his guard. Descend upon the Fifth and Thirteen Legions like the fist of an angry god. Hammer them with such waves of Pressure as to rival the destruction of the Armament-Fish, grind them into dust until they break or yield, then slaughter the Lord Protector unless he gives his unconditional surrender.

*The strength of Hunger is in direct conflict. Translate this battle into the arena of your strength. Do as the Forebear did before you; show this insidious schemer that the hour of reckoning has come.
*Unfortunately you won't be able to spare anyone with this method. Time is of the essence. Millions of soldiers will die. Maybe if you're lucky they'll break and rout before they're annihilated, but the discipline of Nilfel is legendary. Each of their captains would be a nation-bestriding hero outside, and their champion-generals are veritable forces of nature.
*Their auxiliaries and support beasts are far less heroic and unlikely to withstand the power of Holy Shit. They at least should flee quickly.
*Take care that the Lord Protector does not flee himself. Speed will be critical to the execution of this plan. Still, so long as you are able to reach him, this plan should work.

Ngl, I love how the first plan is just called "Crush Them."

But I suppose that's to be expected after we overshot the power of a Nilfelian Legion with OaF and ADS right after Tower and Tears which would have been enough to barely match them with just those two. And ofc, how could I forget Whiteout.

Hmm, while I don't exactly endorse killing millions of people, I don't think Hunger would have as many hang-ups when it comes to these soldiers. For one, the Lord Protector has proven to still remain a danger even if he can't contest us directly, so he should be dealt with swiftly if we don't want to lose any more of our companions. For another, they've been on a conquest streak for a while, so it's not like these are innocents we would be slaughtering here, nor are we forcing them to stand their ground. Triumphal Gleam should deal with most reputation problems, though Adorie probably won't be a fan of the solution.

I'll have to see the other options, but I'm not really opposed to the simplicity of Crush Them.

As a progression-type, Hunger can honestly go "fuck this, I'll fix them later" even if we murder them by the million.

Not necessarily consequence free, in terms of relationships with our companions or Hunger's own mental stability, but there you go.

The soldiers we'd be fighting are the most loyal ones the LP's got. Even if we overthrow him it's doubtful that they'll bend their knees to Hunger and Adorie. I can see them causing issues for the new regime if they survive. So killing them here could actually be the best thing to do.

Meh. Crush them. They knew what they were getting into when they entered the imperialism business.

More importantly, will we get any picks from this? :V
maybe? A social challenge might be more challenging tho. Getting a second powerup to OaF2 by delivering a verbal-beatdown to the LP would be pretty satisfying too. After we avoided the fight with Exposition Cat and did the summary execution for Ber, we have been hit with a lot of anticlimaxes lately.

Wow, killing millions already, that was fast. Everyone is a combatant so I don't mind, but still. It would be a shame if we picked crush and the Lord Protector escaped anyway, however. Gotta plan for that.

Anyway, the legions are definitely bigger than I thought. I was expecting Hundreds of thousands at most not millions in a few legions.

IIRC for highly urbanized civilizations, a military that makes up, like, ~2% of the total population is reasonable. Given the size of Nilfel, even if they literally have a hundred legions that are each millions strong, they probably aren't breaching that, and even more, given the fact that they are sustained by intense magic, their supportable military percentage may be even higher.

I wouldn't be surprised if the LP was inflating the numbers as much as he could, given his ambitions, which raises the feasible numbers even higher.
