So, uh, definitely didn't expect my memeing to be prophetic. Conservation of antagonists really is an important skilled for any budding Curse to learn! Not only to do we get a boss fight and more information on Ber's deal, it's in the form of an interlude, which are consistently great. This is going to be... interesting.

If this is Bearic piloting the Armament Fish, my skeleton is going to turn into pure light, oh my god. Man oh man am I glad we didn't give this fucker prep time, while his Progression isn't on our level, he'd likely get a lot more out of becoming skilled with piloting than we would summoning.

Also, wow, his inner monologue almost sounds tolerable now. Is that the true power of the Apocryphal? To make even the most obnoxious enemies semi-sympathetic through the limitless frame-shifting power of Interludes?

This is the third bloody enemy who's gone the way of Jonah, swallowed and subverted by a monster. Mizuku, Fullmight (probably), and now the Carebear himself. I'm glad I voted for Cast Line too, though that could quickly sour if the Apocryphal Curse finds a window to strike anyway.

Yeah, I guess nomming people is the most convenient way to power up? Or the most interesting, from Apo-chan's perspective? It's a surprisingly cruel definition, but she is a curse.

I really, really want to beat him by flashbuying some Praxis techniques now, even if that would wipe out our budget for the rewards from this kill. That would be a perfect cherry atop the Never Better sundae. Here's hoping we get some good rolls.

Wait a second blue? Gisena only had a 9.5 compatibility with the Azure. Could it be that Ber is the one who was truly meant to wield ring?

So much for her Santa cosplay in Prestige Classing, this is cold as the Marianas Trench (and as Pressurized)! I'd imagined having Curse in your corner as similar to A Promise Kept or Fated Overlord, but it turns that no, the enemy of your enemy is not your friend.
 
This is fine. We're already destined to pick up a ring of power for Letrizia (and a matching ring of power for Versch) and then find one for Aeira, and then Aobaru, so now with Ber as a recruit we'll just put in a bulk order for... checks notes... five rings of power? good?

wait, no this is not fine.
