To be clear, Passing Out doesn't remove Exhausted. It just gives you Arete and wastes the night, as you would eventually sleep anyway.

While Crown grants Astral Rank, said Rank is of reduced utility until Exhausted passes!
I see, so we'll need to take a day off regardless?

[X] Dress the Fish

Adjusting with a better understanding of exhausted in mind.

[X] Get In The Robot

That was glorious and if we're still alive when the debuff expires, it'll all have been worth it. But for now, one last duty is demanded of us before we can slip into sleep's welcoming embrace. Hunger respects no custom save his own code and the words of his patron, so matters of characterization are of paramount importance. Our Curses have to take priority; fun as this diversion was, we have responsibilities, and tending to them may ameliorate any unfavorable implications for Hunger's risk assessment.

To say nothing of the eldritch lore you may gain access to faster...

[X] Get In The Robot

Better reach equals better Fell Strikes, Crown's fine too but this is good for immediate safety. I have no fucking clue why we'd pick Orb, getting more people to attack him is not one of Hunger's problems? Getting the robot's been teased since we knew there were robots to get into, let's get this over with. Gisena can take care of the King Fish.

But meta wise, Rihaku said we could probably spend Arete when we get into the Robot, so shouldn't we delay that until we build up a decent Arete stack and maximize our purchases there?

Sure, for a whole day. I know immediate power can sometimes be weighed above long term growth, but are we really so hard done for that we need to sacrifice for a single day of better safety?

The Curse in question doesn't need a day, it only needs an instant! But you're not sacrificing all that much in the first place, it's not like .25 Ranks is that huge!

So, it looks like Gisena the nihilist approves of sidequesting? Wasting energy on a fish when we're at risk of dying is hilarious to her. And I... sympathize with that more than I would have thought, even if I don't agree.

Wonder how far fishing-analogous can stretch. And we are at ++++ Charisma, so we'd be a very good Master Baiter. But I'm gonna go for Crown unless I see or think of a great way to Bait Masterfully. Can we be a Master Baiter in the middle of a fight, feints=bait? No, almost certainly... we have a fishing rod infused with ruin... but can we do it without creating a farcical fishing-based fighting style?

I don't want to get in the robot, not after the speech about valuing these slice of life moments. Passing the fuck out opens us to gender-role based sniping from Gisena, but Arete is too amazing.

If exhaustion goes away in two days... I would say it's an amazing trade for something worth 1 Arete, if not for the Apocryphal Curse taking every opportunity to be a dick. Still, not as bad as I thought. Which leaves a lot of room, 'cause I thought it was gonna be really bad.

[X] Crown
[X] Pass Out

Edit: Hold on a second now.
Having overcome the King Fish, a feat of great, prowess, you may choose a benefit:
Is the QM sarcasming our decision here? I didn't vote for it, but now that it's happened I will defend it to the death! Our prowess is uncommaable. How dare he think of us as anything other than Master Baiters!

mystery boxes, an addiction? never
Also, I'm going to bank on the fine odds (probably better than a coinflip!) of "not being attacked with a significant encounter tomorrow," so Crown over Saber.

If no choices are picked to repair it, will the Forebear's Blade still fix itself in time?

If the answer is no, I really think we should pick it. There will likely be more options to keep fixing it until we have the whole blade once more.

The Forebear's Blade might have an answer to that.
Accretion - Infused with a spark of Accursed power, the blade slowly repairs itself as you progress, assuming a new form well-suited to the character and strengths of its master. As your power grows, so too shall its form be refined, become ever sharper and mightier without limit.
If we invest into it we might be able to make it into a whip-sword, like Ivy's from Soul Calibur or the threaded cane in Bloodborne.

No, every weapon you wield (including your fists) is infused with the power of ruin as a consequence of carrying the Forebear's Blade.

It is really bad. If attacked by that pirate captain at this stage you would have had a significant chance of death.

You don't know for sure how the Forebear's growth will manifest itself.

For fucks sake, we need immediate security right now. Everything else is irrelevant. Stop chasing the damn shinies for once.

You guys are pretty low on Arete. Besides choices which themselves give Arete, don't forget you can get additional bonuses for discussion unrelated to the vote at hand!

It's amusing that Gisena disapproves of doing what you could claim is our duty! Honestly, passing out's a defensible choice in the wake of all this. Sleeping under the stars, draped in their mantle, waking up with additional Arete... but we were offered respite once before and declined. Hunger learns best through effortful action when there are stakes, so in a sense this is the best time to learn to pilot. The ring's training debuff shouldn't be clipping his wings.

[X] Orb
[X] Dress the Fish

Our first title! Manipulation seems like it'll work well with our increased presence from Evening Sky plus the massive benefits we can reap from future fishing expeditions.

As if I'm getting in the robot for the cost of a relative --Gisena! Besides maybe the legendary fish has swallowed some cool loot.

It is really bad. If attacked by that pirate captain at this stage you would have had a significant chance of death.
Didn't you say earlier that even with exhausted evening sky would make us stronger than before?

Gisena probably disapproves of catching a fish without even checking what it is afterwards. Or possibly her insight into our curse tells her it's a bad idea if we get into the robot?
