A Play of Blood and Shot (ASOIAF NG)

School of Dhaqef, early flavor post. It's basicallly elemental magic but Science's up in its inner workings.

I think it's important to clarify that you can't just post anything you want in a game post and make it so - in a way it's hard to articulate as it's something you pick up with time, but as a player there are some things you control (ie, what your characters wear...what they say...where they go within your lands...how they interact with each other) and things you don't (ie, new magical/technological developments/war results/espionage results/interactions with other players and NPCs, etc). It's great that you're excited about Qarth, Qarth having dragons, dragons having Qarth, but I would encourage you to focus more on the human side of things and work more closely with Ceslas as you move forward on the magical and technological side of things.

Likewise Ceslas it might be good for you to consult so you don't get overburdened as God Mod deciding everything alone, no one likes being the bad guy or having to say "no", "not this", "not now" all the time.

Fair enough, the Dhaqef magic isn't exactly new, it's just a school of magic they had before I arrived.

We don't have an academy. :p That is what you asked for. We have magic users but no organized system and Aenar Vhossar is not publicly known as a magic wielder due to some of the more unsavory aspects of it like human sacrifice.

And @Ceslas the part that conceded the Ebonheart Treaty does that just throw out the dividing line in Sothoryos that me and the Summer Empire set up? Because that was basically what the treaty was, Zones of Influence.
you technically have Lys' magical academy. We know a bit of blood magic thanks to evil ninja nuns.

They wouldn't share it as they lost a skilled man, it is written in blood and bones, and deals with pretty secretive stuff they wouldn't let anyone else see. Like Qarth, Qohor, Braavos, Pentos, Sanctuary, Tyrosh, etc, for example.

.... the heck does written in blood and bones even mean?

They wouldn't even let someone offering magic of their own see it?

You really seem to be treating magic like its a business or a science.

Its magic, it rips out your soul and by nature is best done in secret or semi religious situations. Its very grand and very foreboding. Not something you can barter.

No, the knowledge of it, obviously, I can't trade a fireball.

While magic itself is a mysterious art, that doesn't mean one can't work together with others to delve deep into its mysteries.... no matter the price.

She made the entire book about the knowledge we asked her to translate through the blood, bones and skin of the Qarthene magician I hired back when I was Lys to make it.

We also bought the man's loyalty so had he lived he was not returning to Qarth.
