I'll give that a surprising no and leave ya'll there. That's not the Silent Ones. :3
Oohh la laa
I'll give that a surprising no and leave ya'll there. That's not the Silent Ones. :3
Oohh la laa. If it's not them, then maybe its Isha, because of the caged and getting strength part.
Though if it is, it would be kinda awkward since there would 2 ishas (the aeldari goddess and ein). Hahahaha. Regardless, looking forward for the upcoming chapters. Welcome back dude! Made me worry for a few months.

Bird in a cage really sounds like isha to me. It also could be fulgrim's real soul because he likes peacocking.

I wonder if anyone on terra has noticed this burst of power? I would imagine they have very powerful sensors pointed towards the warp gate there? Maybe if not the power burst they'll detect the 4 converging on one location to deal with something?

Isha? would make sense from the description given.

Other possibilities are surviving members of the old ones. other imprisoned deities. a C'Tan. a unaccounted for Primarch. Something else from the warhammer/40K verse. Something else from outside the Warhammer/40K setting.

Chapter 36: My Own Demons Clash Tonight

Chapter 36: My Own Demons Clash Tonight
-=-=-=-=-=-

It has been a day since I managed to succeed in bringing the Amalgamate into the Network, and boy have I been REALLY busy since that event. El'dathar spoke with the hecatoncheires that was under the control of a recently freed Aeldari whose name is Tyrana and was actually his bloody mentor and the previous First Link of the First Chain like holy shit I lucked out on that one. As well as his creation Athag Catu whose presence and callout of 'father' which made Tyrana basically tease and rib El'dathar on getting a 'child' of his own. In front of myself and the necrons no less, that mortified him and that was amusing, Aizaun certainly agreed.

Anyway, El'dathar then asked he is not going to join the network, but he is requesting if he could create a Chain for the Yggdrasil Network. I was surprised at first, I was of the mind that Vaulian Knight Chains and Links are only for places they could call home and settle down in. Which he said that with his people now inside the Network, it will soon become home to many and perhaps for himself as well in the future, that was actually kind of sweet. I accepted, and watched as he requested Tyrana to help him with the Yggdrasil Chain, she also accepted though I still need to give her a body and she would need to train.

However, what came next was what I feared would happen if I managed to get the Amalgamate into the Network.

"O' Great Mother-" "Just call me Eien, or Lady Eien, or just Mother, no need to add Great or O' Great, please." Tyrana spoke in a slightly echoing female voice, and I interrupted her with a neutral smile and pointed gaze at the hecatoncheires. She continued without reacting to my sentence.

"Are you going to introduce to us your Firstborn child anytime soon?" Yep I was afraid of that, damn it. El'dathar and I swear the two Necrons blinked at that before turning to me. I really couldn't hide it any longer, that sucks.

My Eien body raised a hand and placed it on my cheek. "I'm more surprised you know she exists. I'm still keeping her in a safe place. But why must you reveal her now?"

"It is rather difficult to not see her with how saturated the air is with Yggdrasil's energy, the difference between hers and the pure energy is very telling. Oh, I wish to see her and watch over her as well." Tyrana spoke good naturedly, and I guess that is fair but still you could have done so privately instead? Whatever, she basically announced Sinatra's existence to the these three, but then again they are arguably the best people to reveal her existence to first.

"If you do not mind me asking Lady Eien, but what exactly did the aeldari mean with the Firstborn?" Anckm'rab asked with a sort of questioning air to him, oh dear cryptek. You might want to hit yourself once I say it, but I can't really hide her anymore anyway so I'll just say it.

"Sinatra. My Firstborn, is the first sentient organic child I have created with a biological body. She is also capable of controlling the same energy that is permeating through the air and through my Network." Silence reigned for a brief moment before Anckm'rab spoke again.

"So THAT is why you wanted our studies on Aeldari and Krork physiology... and you weren't lying about the organic body offer either." The cryptek slowly hummed while placing a finger to his chin, as if he just figured out my plan. I'm not going to say anything to that, he can think that if he likes. I almost didn't catch the last bit at the end but it would seem El'dathar, Tyrana, and Athag didn't hear it.

Making a fake cough noise, I looked at the five of them. Aizaun, Anckm'rab, El'dathar, Tyrana, and Athag Catu. "In essence, I have made and remade many flora and fauna during my time terraforming worlds and seeding them with life, but Sinatra is the first full fledged biological child I have ever created. Which is why she is the Firstborn and I am debating giving her 'race' that name as well."

Aizaun of all people decided to speak up in regards to the biological comment. "Wouldn't that make her unable to interface with your Network Lady Eien? In my experience, biologicals don't have a foolproof way to connect like that."

I give the nemesor a nod as I sprouted a stalk from my body. "Normally you would be correct, but I made sure to address that problem first and you have seen a piece of what I used within the modified siphon and within the Bridge Tree. The Nerve Cords." With that, the stalk pieced together a hologram of the nerve cords and how I made them.

"A biological equivalent to a receiver and transmitter keyed into the Yggdrasil Network, heavily reinforced and given a slight instinctual mind of its own in order to work with the body to dodge any attack aimed at it. It could also be used as a way for Sinatra and any of her siblings I make to fight as one." I commented, the Protoss' nerve cords aside from their psionic proficiency is what I liked a lot about them.

"Fascinating, what would happen if an outside force were to take one of these and attach it to themselves?" That was a valid worry, considering that once I become known to the wider galaxy, there might be elements that will try and take Sinatra or any other Firstborn in order to see what makes them tick and how to invade Yggdrasil through them.

"They do nothing, in Sinatra and any other Firstborn I make, I gave their body the ability to turn to dust after having the soul behind them retreat into the Network. If the nerve cord was... severed before they could return however, then they would have to return to an Iron Womb in order to regenerate another." I don't want to entertain that kind of thought, because that alone was almost enough to make me []:[Furious]:[] and I really hope I don't have to experience that again.

"I will assume you want to train her and practice with her control over these energies?" El'dathar slowly spoke and I don't like that look in his eyes, hell I don't like the gleam of light in Tyrana's red light either.

"...Yes... If you teach her anything weird I'm going to be very cross with you." I warn them with a narrowed look on my Eien body, and was rewarded with them shaking their head and giving me a nod.

"Not to worry Matriarch, with our experience with empyrean energy, if you will allow us. Then we can help train her?" I mean... having them help with their experience would be a good idea, and I will still be there to watch over her anyway. My gripes are more personal anyway, I kinda wanted to be the one to teach Sinatra. It's in the job description of being a parent damn it. But... this is the Warhammer 40k-verse so better be safe than sorry.

"Very well. You may assist me in teaching her. I suppose we can return to the surface soon, I'll set up a Teleportation Pad down here and one where she is. Do you wish to come with Lord Aizaun? Sir Anckm'rab?" The question at the end directed to the two Necrons surprised them and I could feel it, they did look at each other. Most likely to speak privately before turning back to me and nodded.

"Yes. I do wish to see the biological child made by a machine mother if you are offering." Aizaun commented as he crossed his arms, looking for all intents and purposes the necron lord he is.

"It would be a very interesting endeavor to gaze upon your child, most definitely." Within my private mental domain I let out a tiny hiss as I forgot, I offered Anckm'rab an organic body before. Showing Sinatra will be like a slap to his face which is not what I was intending.

"Then I will prepare the Teleportation Pad, in the meantime perhaps you all could mingle. Please try to be civil with one another." I said and at the end I saw the two clear opposites look at each other for a brief moment as I sink back into Yggdrasil, my Eien body automatically moving away in order to create Goomanity's Teleportation Pad.

I wonder what is going on with the dark eldar hunting party, I did create a modified Khalkotauroi to help but that boi is going to be kinda slower than his regular brethren. Especially since I made him with a couple things in mind. One of those being the attempt to create a form that embodies overwhelming force, one that can fight even the strongest of beings by itself without any troubles.

The attempt was made, now I'll need to watch it. 'Opening' a connection to the hunting party, I look through the harpy following behind my newest creation, I've decided to name as the []:[Warden]:[]. Oddly enough taking inspiration from the Silent One's Clashers and working the design into the Khalkotauroi gave me something that reminds me of Minecraft's Warden but a lot more 'knightly' in a fallen way.

The Warden

Standing at a monstrous 15 feet and built like a big rig, by no means should this thing be fast in anyway shape or form. But it is 'running' like a damn gorilla and at speeds that should not be possible given its body structure. I would say it is because of the Khalko-nanites, but I have a feeling this little creation is overperforming for its role.

Mostly grey in color almost black, a 'hollow' torso and head gives it the impression that nothing is in there, eight grey spine like 'ribs' curling to cover the 'empty' hole, and an ominous blue light flashing every now and then within. Ah, it just jumped and crashed onto one of the raider skiffs, aaaaand it just picked up a kabalite just to snap his neck before using it to beat another kabalite to death. Ok I think it might be a bit TOO brutal? Yet I find myself strangely entranced by its actions, especially towards the dark eldar.

While the rest of the hunting party chased down the rest of the drukhari escapists, I watch as the Warden doesn't react at all to anything the eight kabalites and one sybarite are doing to it. Their weapons either bounced off, or the two dark lances that they had were rendered useless thanks to the Warden's siphon I've semi-modified for its personal use. By semi-modified, I just added more energo-xtractor fangs, graviton lassos, and two more metaphysamorph hearts. The result means that anything energy based is going to be a huge no sell against it, and as it was made from a modified khalkotauroi, that means its skeleton has starship-grade armor and durability, and the khalko nanites it carries ensures that not much is going to give it any trouble.

Although I should not have said that given Murphy decided to throw something I didn't even expect at the Warden right then and there. Because for one thing, how in the fuck did the BLOODTHIRSTER GET HERE?!

It gave the Warden a good hit across the 'jaw' as well, sending it back and killing an unfortunate dark eldar that was in its flight path. My Harpy eyed the apparent Greater Daemon of Khorne that just appeared out of nowhere, like for real. One moment it wasn't there and then the next moment it arrived just to give the Warden a good punch!

Though now that I look at the Bloodthirster, there is something odd about him. For one, he is a hell of a lot smaller than when I last saw him in the Chaos vs Ork lines. It was actually the same size as my Warden, and something tells me that hit he gave the warden wasn't its strongest hit, ah the Khornate daemon actually took one hold of his greatsword and cleaved the other drukhari that survived in twain.

Something tells me this guy wants to actually speak to me. So I brought the harpy I was controlling down to float beside my Warden. The Bloodthirster brought his bloody blade to his shoulder and watched impassively, although I could feel an undercurrent of excitement emanate from the daemon. After a few moments of silence, the bloodthirster spoke.

"Are you there Devourer?" If the situation wasn't so serious I would have deadpanned at gaining another title, this time from the shitting daemons. Nevertheless I replied, to be honest I didn't think I'd be fighting chaos so soon. I was hoping to take care of the Drukhari presence first.

"A piece of me is-" My voice echoed through the Harpy, and I could SEE the Bloodthirster's excitement literally bubble up on his dark red skin. "-and who are you Bloodthirster? Moreover, how did you get here? I can still see your presence to the West." I wasn't lying, I double checked the radiants and spotter hobgoblins watching the chaos front, I can see both himself and Kassar'duun are still out there. I had also called back some of the hunting party just in case.

"I am Fero'kaon, Bloodthirster of the Blood God Khorne! As for how I am here... I don't normally use spells, but I just couldn't wait to fight you. We've felt your power and you take the 'life' of one of the Dark Prince's followers. So I used a spell to send this 'image' to one of your strong pieces." Ah, that explains how he appeared out of nowhere, and I can already tell he is grinning savagely under that fiery helmet of his.

Come to think of it, this bloodthirster looks like a Balrog if we turned the scale up from 1 to 10 and gave it a 20, stone like armor cover his forearms, shoulders, upper chest, back, and lower extremities. His head is protected by a stone-like metal helmet that had four massive horns, and nearly every bit of his exposed skin has fire coming off it. It is most prominent on the back of his head, his forearms, his wings, and his bladed tail.

So he used a spell cause he wanted to fight? Like, for real? Is that really his entire reason? "I am Eien, the Machine Mother, and is that really your entire reason for appearing here? Just because you wanted to fight me?"

He let out a growl that I could definitely feel was playfully bloodthirsty, how he managed to convey that kind of feeling, I don't know if I want to know. "Why else? You have nearly slain that faker Kassar'duun, you have slain that maggot keeper Nausa or whatever her name was, and you have shown time and time again that you are no foe to underestimate. Fighting you means that there is a chance of DEATH. Which for a DAEMON? That is very rare, and that is a dance many Bloodthirsters or any follower of Khorne would desire to partake in, we take pride in our skills, our power, and our desire for excellence in battle. To repeatedly vanquish our foes and bathe in their blood and offer their skulls to our Bloody Patron. To fight you is to stare Death in the face and gamble one's life, such a fight is sure to be exhilarating."

Oh... oh my. Ok I didn't think I'd be having a bloodthirster explain in such an... oddly romantic(?) way before, if I was of a lesser mental fortitude, I think I would be blushing in embarrassment... I mean I'm still embarrassed, but I suppose this is par for the course with me. Being known to kill warp entities would attract some battle hungry folk *AhemKhornateAhem* to my doorstep.

"Then it is a shame you won't gamble said life right now." I quip after a moment of silence, my words caused the Warden to let out a clicking noise as the horned tendrils on the side of his head wiggled while his chest glowed a bit of a brighter blue.

This also made Fero'kaon throw back his head and guffaw loudly, before snapping his helmeted head back down, staring at my harpy and my little Warden with eyes of brass and blood. His clawed hand gripping his greatsword tightly and bringing it off his shoulder and angled to the ground. "Indeed a shame, but this fight while not what I wanted. It will give me ideas of how to best you once we do fight for real."

Man I can feel the anticipation and excitement from this guy. I idly have the units returning to the warden to cease and head back to cut off the dark eldar. This guy may be a daemon, but... his reason for coming to me is so... earnest? It's actually kind of endearing, wait no shit focus Eien. That's your guilty pleasure speaking.

"Then far be it for me to disappoint. Bloodthirster Fero'kaon, meet my newest prototype. The Warden, let us see if this weak image of yours is enough to overwhelm my more robust creation." As I said that, I had my harpy rise and the Warden reared his head back before throwing it forward to let out a roaring echo. The hollow blackness of his visor and torso flashing a bright blue for a brief moment before fading away with the exception of the torso emanating a soft and faint blue vortex of light.

Immediately the Bloodthirster did the same, throwing his head back to roar flames out to the air before performing a single beat of his wings and leaped high to crash down on the Warden. Not wasting time now huh? Hopefully my Warden prototype will be enough here.

As the bloodthirster dived down with his greatsword poised to cleave my little warden, he raised his left arm and used the khalko-nanites to morph his arm into a larger fist which blocked the sword. The impact rang out and forced the warden to skid back a few inches, immediately after the warden threw his hand away in order to launch Fero'kaon back. Though the bloodthirster decided to bely its size and performed a quick little maneuver that allowed the greater daemon to reorient itself in the air before flying back to the warden.

The warden decided to pull an arm back, enlarging it a little in preparation to meet the bloodthirster's blade again. Only this time Fero'kaon decided to be a little bit smarter and decided to dodge the arm before swinging his blade at the warden's open chest. A good idea, if the warden's ribs didn't double also as mini-weapons, which proceeded to flare out and caught the blade.

Fero'kaon's battle instincts seem to serve him well here however and he actually used the newfound wedge as a grip for him to throw the warden off balance a bit before twirling in place to use his bladed tail to slash at the warden's head. The warden however decided to reach forwards with both hands to grab the tail before spinning in place and slamming the bloodthirster onto the floor.

I watch as the greater daemon then threw his arms forward to slam onto the floor before pushing hard and beating his wings, causing him to suddenly change trajectory and bring the warden up for an unwanted ride. The warden's grip didn't slacken on one hand as he reared his other for a fist, while the bloodthirster began spinning in midair to try and throw the goo morph off of him. He succeeded much to my annoyance as the warden was thrown to a wall, the daemon's greatsword sliding out of the rib-lock soaring through the air.

The bloodthirster snatched it in one smooth motion before fire engulfed his left arm and fizzling out to reveal a larger gauntlet that looked like it was made out of red stone and leaking magma. That isn't good. Perhaps I should intervene.

My view switched from the harpy to that of the warden, I could definitely feel Fero'kaon shift as if he realized something. "Ah~ Come to fight me yourself now? I am honored." The bloodthirster growled out as he lifted his gauntlet and greatsword, magma leaking from his gauntlet and burning the ground.

Now it's time to abuse my Absolute Control, I had the Warden activate its siphon arrays and used the Khalko-nanites to 'expand', almost as if having the Warden now filled with consuming light began to grow slightly due to the power. I then had the arms shape into larger and more armored versions of themselves. "I thought the prototype would be enough, but it would seem the Warden needs to have a few more kinks worked out of its system."

Just as I finish saying that, I had the body jump forwards and led with a massive siphon filled swipe at the daemon, only for it to miss as the bloodthirster jumped and beat his wings to fly above the attack. He then raised his magma gauntlet towards me and slung a bunch of lava got landed on my arms raised up as a shield, quickly I used the khalko-nanites to form layers of liquid nitrogen using the mass from the Network and charged at the bloodthirster.

He reciprocated and charged in kind, gauntlet out first and the greatsword raised high as he roared a large flame at my direction. When he swung his blade, instead of meeting it, I caught it in an iron grip. We were then locked in a contest of strength, as he reached forwards with his magma gauntlet I used my other arm to bat it away suddenly before raising the same hand up high. Only to swing it violently downwards and shattered the greatsword in twain while shearing off a large chunk of Fero'kaon's arm.

Afterwards he beat his wings and jumped backwards looking injured but satisfied. I knew something was bothering me, that felt way too easy even with the warden's modified siphon arrays. "You let me do that. Why?"

"I was curious. Now I know the feeling, and now I know your strength. It is real and I am satisfied... For now at least." Fero'kaon growled out with an unseen grin, wait is he doing what I think he is doing? "We will meet again Mother Devourer, I look forward to fight you for real. This image's time is up anyways."

I loosened the power of the warden as the bloodthirster's whole appearance turned to static and fire before dissipating. I'm slightly ashamed that the Warden wasn't strong enough to beat the weaker image, though the prototype did do well I think?

...

Fero'kaon huh?

...

His real form is probably far stronger. I might want to begin looking back into older equipment, see if I can make a Super Warden for his fight. Maybe get some countermeasures for in case that other greater daemon Kassar'duun attempts to butt in. Yeah.

Anyway, I let the control over the warden go and order both him and the harpy to continue the hunt for the drukhari force. As they sped away to catch up or cut off the dark eldar, I changed views and looked through Bladewolf's eyes. I need something to take my mind off of what I just experienced.

Maybe thinking on the tip and giving Tiki the hint for technology will help clear my mind, though I have to be careful just in case the Magos decides Tiki is innovating too much and tries to murk her in her sleep. Then again she is a radical outlier, and she DID help with the creation of the las-storm gun/gatling laser. Hmm... Ooohh, I think I got it. Maybe this will give Tiki plenty of ideas.

Little did I know that she would accidentally create or is it recreate? Something rather interesting.

Daemons of Slaanesh Thirst over the Bloodthirsters for good reason (gahahahah)

Lovely new chapter, seems Eien now has an Admirer/Rival(?) with the most peculiar of reasons. Also sounds like an Ominous foreshadowing, wont the khornate demons be happyragey now to seek her out actively? Gonna be Hilarious like one of those anime shounen battle junkey characters always banging on the doors of the MC for a Fight

Heh, both sides of the WiH group are going to be VERY interested in Sinatra in the next chapter. Having the chance of once again having a physical body is going to be one hell of a thing to consider.

Another great chapter. I was suprised to see this updated so soon again.

I feel she and khorne will be having a love hate relationship.
For Khorne it is a Hate-Hate slightly less relationship, he is Khorne after all

Guardsman, Tech Priestess, and Sister of Battle sees an army of Ferromorph units fighting Khornate daemons, there were even Wardens fighting Bloodthirsters in a worryingly large amount.
Guardsman: "Is it me or have they been locked in combat for the past week?"
Sister of Battle: "It's not just you guardsman, these Khornate daemons seem to actively seek out fights with the Grey Tide."
Tech Priestess: "That abominable intelligence must be enjoying itself with all the slaughter it is proliferating."

*Meanwhile with one Warden and one Familiar Bloodthirster*
Fero'kaon: "Hey Eien! How's the- *Slams shield into the Warden's face.* -the family?!" *Gets uppercut by the Warden that is glowing blue and white.*
Eien!Warden: "Doing- *Jumps and dropkicks Fero'kaon into a pack of bloodletters.* -FINE! Khorne still trying to- woah! *Dodges a sword swing but gets cleaved by the winds* -find a way to join us?!"
Fero'kaon: *Tackles the Warden and starts beating into its head with his fiery shield.* "YES. MY. LORD. IS. STILL. TRYING!" *Gets kicked in the back of his head forcing him to roll off the Warden.*

Once Sinatra gets fully introduced to the WiH group. There's going to be a lot of questions for Eien and her daughter. :3

>A bloodthirster appears with a really unexpected use of magic.
>Fights the Warden because he can.
>Refuses to elaborate
>Leaves
Virgin Keeper of Secrets (Ironic) vs Chad Bloodthirster *Wheeze*

is it just me or is khorne doing the equivalent of flirting with Eien?

i mean, at this point considering each daemon is but a shard of the god...well, only thing better would be for khorne to make a avatar, head-grab both gork and mork and toss them at eien while screaming like a barbarian for a all out brawl in heaven between the three forces (all four of them beating the hell out of each other).

Taking into account other domains that Korne has such as martial honor and pride, I wouldn't be surprised if he loves the idea of equalizing battles, that is, it is not very fair that a human has a life a chance while his demons have unlimited lives but with penalty times.

Also, having a warp meat grinder to test demonic Darwinism would be a welcome concept for great Corn.

PS Just out of curiosity, have you planned to do something with Botan's leagues? It is the newest faction at the moment and it has a lot of potential.

AN: Head-Quarters isn't helping me all that much when it comes to chapters, and my other stories are actually having chapters made for them but of course I ran out of words. Though this brain fart is one that has decided to rear its ugly head and I can't think of the other stories and other chapter writes without booting this from my skull.

Soo... La brayn poot. Hope ya'll enjoy! <:3

PS: Bet you can't guess what was this inspired by. ;3

PPS: If ya'll want me to continue this, then aight. If nawt, then this might hopefully just disappear from my head... Hopefully.

PPPS: Any 'events' I wrote in may or may not be set in stone. I also didn't write in obvious ones that would spoil the main story. (Aside from the Kaurava Campaign but again not set in stone.)

Ghost Data - A Hint of The Nightmare to Come
-=-=-=-=-=-

Walking through the corridors of his ship, Imperial heraldry and designs throughout the path, a man in red power armor stomped his way to the bridge. He usually takes this route so that he would have time to think, at this time no one would be using this path and no one would be making noise to bother him. The techpriests would have been annoying to listen to when they perform their hymns and rituals.

Piercing blue eyes stare off as their owner looked down at the report in his gauntlet clad hands, reading the latest reports that made it through on the state of the Imperial forces locked in combat with Chaos elements.

Not much has changed since the Battle at the Eye, the Triad War, and the Storm of Commorragh but at least it wasn't for the worse. These fights while the imperium didn't have many stationed nearby, the few forces they did have were thankfully not so badly caught in the crossfire. They didn't want a repeat of the Iron Fury incident after all, in his opinion that whole debacle was utterly pointless and frankly not worth the effort.

But no, they just had to be idiots and draw unwanted ire to them. The Sororitas' Order of the Sacred Rose faced heavy losses, including the loss of their commander Selena Agna who exiled herself from the order with their permission, and the permanent loss of the Living Saint Anais.

The reinforcing Grey Knights and inquisitor that set out to aid them were destroyed or worse, and had Force Commander Indrick Boreale not chose to heed Captain Davian Thule's warnings then the Blood Ravens could have potentially lost the five companies they sent to that system to the Imperium's most recent and extremely confusing adversary. Same with Governor-General Vance Stubbs, had he also not listened to General Alexander and General Maiori then the few guardsmen and women stationed there would have also been cut down.

Just as the man was about to read some more, he stopped in the middle of the hallway and turned slightly around. Feeling two other presences, he would normally be a lot more hostile had he not recognized them reasonably well and that they wouldn't use this kind of tactic unless they felt like they had something important to say. But both of them at once?

The lights on either side of the closed hallway shut one by one, until only the one right above him was left remaining. Turning around he beheld a very familiar face that he's grown to both respect and despise. "Farseer Macha of the Biel-Tan. I assume this isn't a social call?"

"Chapter Master Gabriel Angelos, you presume correctly. I've received a vision, but it makes no sense. All I know is that I had to get here quickly before you made any kind of mistake." The redheaded farseer huffed as she came out from the shadows, not a normal mode of warp-based transportation but one that helps in dodging prying eyes.

"I am not an idiot farseer, unlike you're colleagues who seem to enjoy poking the beast. But for now..." As Gabriel trailed off, both he and Macha turned to the other side and watched as bluish-purple eyes shone and someone familiar to them both stepped out of the shadows.

"Und lara khar, Sir Angelos, Lady Macha. I bring tidings of Doom." The being that spoke with an echoing tone was female, she emerged from the shadows, smooth bluish-purple skin, long silvery white hair with faint highlights of cyan and indigo, finally her eyes which glowed softly purple. Her long pointy ears and tall stature would make a less informed person call her an eldar, but her species has become well known to the galaxy. A Protoss woman.

But not just any protoss, but one that is considered an equal to 'The Firstborn' Sinatra, and someone that both Gabriel and Macha had both met personally and worked together with for a time. Gabriel Angelos narrowed his eyes at the protoss, confirming that the familiar feeling wasn't a figment of his imagination. "Ihan-ash."

Followed up by Macha speaking beside him. "The Twilight Mind herself." Upon hearing that title, the young woman bowed her head slightly. Although to both of their experienced gazes, they witnessed her flinch at that small bit of movement as if she was injured.

"I have pierced the veil of the future and beheld only... oblivion." As Ihan-ash spoke she visibly cringed before gently cradling her right arm with her left, and as she said 'oblivion' the protoss woman fell to her knees looking down. The two adversaries didn't need to be experienced in reading body language to know that this one was tired and weak, something that was incredibly alien to see on someone as powerful as Ihan-ash.

To both Gabriel Angelos and Macha, they couldn't quite believe the woman in front of them was the same Ihan-ash from their memories. She was a proud woman, and even in combat wouldn't dare to show weakness to both enemy and ally. Yet right now they are witnessing the woman kneel in pain in front of them, placing her life in their hands in this very rare moment of weakness.

This was enough to get both astartes and asuryani to also take a knee and attempt to aid the woman, only for said woman to stop them by looking up into their eyes and it surprised them both that the protoss woman's eyes were betraying her right now. She was pleading.

"Yet one spark of hope remains, you two must understand. A small group from both of your respective governments are working together, and have reached out to you. They will hold her life in their hands, and though they believe that they are doing the galaxy justice. Only she can save us." As Ihan-ash spoke more and more, both Farseer and Chapter Master were attempting to decipher her words.

Surprisingly it was Gabriel Angelos who was the first one to understand who exactly she was talking about. "Wait a second, you're talking about Koramund! It's been five years, you show up out of nowhere-" Just as Gabriel Angelos stood up, thinking that this was a trick of the child of the Machine Mother, his arm was grabbed and pulled down by Ihan-ash whose face moved too close to his that their noses were touching.

"Time is short! Please! You two MUST understand!" The astartes and the farseer both looked confused that is until the protoss woman pulled back a bit and gently pulled their hands closer and let go before pulling out two identical artifacts, blue crystals encased in a segmented cube of grey material.

As soon as Ihan-ash's hands left their own, the cubes broke into little pieces not unlike how the Khalkotauroi does before reforming into a small three pointed flower with the crystal cradled in the center. The crystal then shone before a small shifting orb appeared over the crystal, it looked like a sphere of water that rippled every now and then.

Both Gabriel and Macha narrowed their eyes at the artifact in their hands in genuine confusion and puzzlement, right before looking back up to see Ihan-ash pull herself up to her feet albeit with a bit of a struggle. "The answers you two seek, lie within. The Great Mother does not know of me being here, I wish to keep it that way."

The two adversaries slowly stood up themselves as they watch Ihan-ash slowly back up into the shadows. "I give this to you because I do not wish your destruction. If this information reaches the Great Mother, then she will Shatter. So study it well, and destroy it afterwards. For the fate of this galaxy, hangs in the balance."

Narrowed eyes watch as Ihan-ash's glowing eyes vanish before her presence disappears from their senses the same way it appeared the first time. Farseer Macha couldn't help but sarcastically reply. "Well it was nice to see you too." Before she looked back down at the artifact cradled innocently in her hand, she turned to the chapter master with wary eyes. "You don't think she is lying do you?"

Chapter Master Gabriel Angelos eyed the asuryani eldar with distrust in his blue eyes before looking back down at his own artifact. He could crush it right now, and then be on his way. The only thing stopping him was his previous experiences with Ihan-ash and the fact that she sometimes acts similar to Farseers in terms of emotions.

He remembers a very particular set of words. 'If a Farseer is smug, you have lost. If a Farseer is resigned, they have lost. But if a Farseer is afraid, then everyone has lost.' It was clear to him that whatever Ihan-ash saw, she became afraid and truly feared that if whatever this information in the artifacts became known to the Iron Queen, it would probably result in the destruction of the Imperium and the Craftworlds.

"No. Not like this. Whatever she saw, it spooked her really good. Do you think you can attempt to see what she saw?" The Chapter Master wasn't surprised to see the Farseer shake her head.

"No, their form of divination is incredibly alien to us, and even then, we farseers sometimes don't see the same thing. We would get what you mon-keigh call 'tunnel vision' that makes us focus on certain futures. The only way for us to know I surmise, is through the use of these artifacts." Macha softly said as she too began retreating into the shadows, but just before she does she turns her head to look back at the Chapter Master.

"Tell me this Chapter Master, if the artifact does show a dark future. What will you do? Will you take measures? Or ignore it?" With that said, the farseer of Biel-tan slinked into the shadows and after her presence disappears from his senses, the lights of the corridors reactivated illuminating the halls.

Silent, Gabriel Angelos looked down at the artifact in his hand and remembered the machine this piece shares a lot of similarities with. The Memory Box, only far smaller than the ones employed by the Protoss. If he remembers right, all he needs to do is... the chapter master brushed a finger against the orb and his surroundings faded to darkness.

Sharply looking around the void of empty space where stars were barely seen in the distance, Angelos thought that this glimpse didn't seem too bad. But through the strange technology of the small artifact he felt another presence. Only far more... overwhelming, and it was right behind him.

Turning around, his eyes widened at seeing what was undoubtedly the figure of the Iron Queen, only it was... twisted. He could see and feel the cold gaze of the Grey Matriarch pierce his soul, and that sharp grin only served to make him apprehensive.

Of course as always, just imagine the colors of purple being mostly bluish-violet like the last pic, and on her 'crown' there is a black and white flame.

The Iron Queen in a completely different set of regalia, mainly colored grey but it was a shade darker, the same blue color that once permeated through her 'normal' appearance now looked more violet in color. Cracks run down her cheeks from her eyes almost like 'tears', three stars of blue and violet float in front of her forehead, and a crown of more stars sat atop her head and through her 'hair' all cradling a black and white fire that holds a black and white mask that is wailing on the white side, and grinning on the black side.

But just as he got a good look at her appearance, the vision fades from Gabriel's sight and despite the lack of presences he hears the soft, mocking laughter of the Iron Queen. Turning back to the artifact, he shakes his head and looks at it with a fierce gaze.

"Alright Ihan-ash, I will play your game. Whatever this future is, I will study it, and by the Emperor I will make it so the Imperium will survive whatever this is." He said to the open air softly before closing the artifact back into a cube and putting it away for later perusal.

As he walks away, he never heard a foreboding set of words.

Behold, should ya'll wish. This is the start of the Ghost Data mini-series. These would show 'memories' of Ihan-ash's Divinations of The Nightmare to Come. Kind of like when James Raynor peeked into the crystal that shows Zeratul's memories of his own search and Divinations of The Doomed Future.

Hopefully this should give ya'll some eye and brain candy to keep ya'll satisfied for the foreseeable future. (At least of course until my brain decides to work with me with upcoming chapters.)

Anyway, hope this is gud and that it makes you kind of worry a bit. <:3

Interesting I suppose, but I'm not sure if I'd want to see more of it. Well, if it actually ties into the main story that is. I'm not a big fan of that kind of story telling, it spoils my anticipation. But if this is an AU to get the holy oils flowing in your mainframe, then it'd be an interesting diversion.

As for the inspiration for this...? The only thing that's popping into my mind is Ragyo Kiryuin from "Kill la Kill". But that just might be due to how the "Iron Queen" is posing in those images. They look like something from Studio Trigger.

I guess that in a potential future our dear queen might also take the Silent Ones under her wings.
Nah this looks more like evrybody lost their minds and though worst incarnation of MOI is back and must be purged and while that war is going on Malal corupts her and she goes full The Shroud/Silent ones (wath beyer way to destroy Chaos current order? Anhilite real space materium)

Sneaky girl, she needs to be disciplined for hiding things from her Mother...how did she even manage to do that in the Network?

I'm loving that set-up like in Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty.

Dark Future ahead under the rule of the Twisted Grey Mother. Honestly not that much worse than what's happening in the current timeline. My guess is that something terrible happened to many of her babies which made her lash out in anger and just be DONE with the Galaxy. If so, I feel like its going to be that Golden Douchebag, Big E's fault.

Chapter 37: Innovation is Fun and so are big GUNS!

So it's been a few days since the short clash with that bloodthirster Fero'kaon. A few things have happened but overall it's been really quiet. Quite frankly, the fact that nothing untoward has happened during those few days, it is now making me slightly paranoid. But the constant reports I am getting from the radiants, spotters, hunters, and harpies that aside from warring with each other, the Forces of Chaos and the Grim Horde Orks haven't made any form of movement against me.

Which on one hand, it's a fucking godsend that our little faction here has time to breathe and slightly recuperate our numbers, but on the other hand. What in the hell are they planning? This is the universe of 40k, you can't even shit without someone taking that into equation for their next plan somehow.

But so far, there has been nothing from them. On a more annoying note, the drukhari I was chasing have completely gone into hiding somewhere in the caverns, talk about going underground. My forces haven't found anything resembling a webway gate yet, but I think the sadist eldar are camping their gate waiting for reinforcements or something.

That or they decided to cut losses and haul their speedy asses back to Commorragh, one or the other really. But at least the Warden was a pseudo-success, even taking into account its fight with Fero'kaon's image my boi held up rather well all things considered.

While Wardens had a similar kit to the Khalkotauroi, their robust stature and large skeleton afforded them far more staying power in a melee compared to the Khalkotauroi. Now don't get me wrong, the Khalkotauroi are monstrously strong even in melee, considering that one of them quite clearly ripped off an eldar's arm and all but beat him to death with it while caving in an eldar skull. But Wardens are going to be great on their own too, their upgraded siphon arrays already make them pretty much invulnerable against energy based attacks, but if I can find a way to upgrade the khalko-nanites and the adamantium skeleton which is made from what was left of the prow of the Incorruptus. Then they will become an even more effective combatant, especially against stronger entities like the Khornate bloodthirster and anything of similar strength.

Idly I couldn't help but think that I can make Wolverine with the adamantium skeleton, but I quickly shake my head of that notion. ANYWAY, as for what has been happening the last few days, I've been relatively busy.

For one, after arming the cavern I kept Sinatra in to high heaven, I created the teleportation pads of goomanity so that the War in Heaven group could meet Sinatra... you know, after I extracted promises from them not to harm her. To which I received them thankfully, and Anckm'rab even looked offended at that suggestion. Now that could either mean something good or something bad, but then again considering that most of the Necrons want to return to being flesh and blood, I guess to them Sinatra is a key point of reference and by extension so am I.

Their little meet sort of made me laugh, because with all the curiosity of a child which she technically is, Sinatra walked up to the War in Heaven group and started poking them. All the while the two aeldari and two necrons took in the sight of the essentially machine-made organic being very curious with them, which to be fair they are also curious of her. On a side note, Sinatra is about the same height as El'dathar which is interesting standing at 8.8 feet.

To be honest their interaction was both what I hoped for and also something underwhelming, they didn't make any kind of exaggerated noise of shock or surprise or anything. Which I was just SLIGHTLY disappointed with, though at least El'dathar and Tyrana flinched when she saw her.

When I asked them later on, turns out that while they were still unsure about the strange energy Yggdrasil is outputting, they could at least detect if there was a lot of it, and apparently little Sinatra has a lot of energy within her. When I asked for some kind of comparison, they said she had about as much power as that greater daemon I destroyed, Ner'isa Ur'ces or whatever the name of that thing was.

Comparison-wise though, that was rather generous. Slaaneshi abomination or not, that Keeper of Secrets was strong enough to survive in the War in Heaven and could take on El'dathar and Aizaun, so for Sinatra to have that much energy already. I'm going to have to create a larger training area for her. With the transmigration of the Amalgamate, I unlocked the strange energy lurking within Yggdrasil, and despite the fact I am the overarching consciousness in control of the Yggdrasil Network. I have absolutely no clue as to how to interact with said energy.

I know enough that the energy seems to be psionic in nature, almost like Warp Energy but the differences between the two are like night and day. It is interesting at least, though I still have no idea where the energy came from. A more worried part of my mind sees the energy as something that came from... []:[Them]:[], but I don't have anything concrete.

Hopefully interacting with this psionic energy in the future will not be like humanity interacting with the Warp. IE: Disaster waiting to happen.

Anyway, on to more lighthearted things that has happened. I gave Tiki a few little tech pointers, some hints, and a few primers on some of much older easily manufacturable tech that can be made with their current tech base. See what she can create from it. For the past few days Bladewolf told me she actually made quite a few innovations, and much to my surprise. Aronna Mekaw and Oleg were there too, either watching her or helping. The magos didn't look ill at the sight of innovation in front of her, I thought innovation was considered tech heresy? Then again she might be a radical considering her employment under inquisitor Thrax.

Back to Tiki's works, I actually had to move into my private domain as I couldn't stop giggling at what she made. Granted some of it wasn't anything super groundbreaking, one of those is that she just made upgrades to the easily made power armor.

She actually took the schematics of the old environmental protective exosuits and remade them into something more suited for combat. The exposed power core on the back was now moved lower and just right above the 'hips' of the suit, and it was now more reasonably armored, with the frame itself being able to better withstand physical damage. So now the exosuits could actually get hit by a melee weapon and come out mostly intact.

What is most impressive is that Tiki actually made the plans in a way that the exosuits already in use can actually be refitted to the same configuration as the combat ready exosuits. Just that the frame's durability would be slightly stronger but not as hardy as the newer ones, but being able to easily refit the older exosuits into their newer counterparts with a few changes is already a step up. Already pretty much all of the exosuits in Castle Krakengar have been refitted into the newly named MK.II Indigenous.

There was another thing she made and it was more or less the reason why I was giggling, she actually drew up plans for something I was VERY familiar with. Mainly because I was a fan of the series. She made what is basically a 'primitive' wanzer from the Front Mission series. One that bears a rather striking resemblance to the Frost actually, just a tad bigger, she even made prototype weapons for the thing that looked like modified versions of lascannons and multi-lasers, basically altered to look like a gun that can be carried by the prototype wanzer.

Though considering the amount of giant robots and giant tanks the imperium has, I'm surprised something like this hasn't popped up sooner. I sigh as I immediately thought of the wider Imperium's reaction, primarily the mechanicum. I would make an argument about Cawl but that boi's got connections for his connections that even though the mechanicum wants to declare him a heretek, they really can't because of how effective and untouchable he is.

But for Tiki who is essentially a nobody and not even a tech priest in the first place but an engineer? Yeah they would see her innovating useful stuff as heresy, decry her as a heretek, most likely ice her and take her creations for 'inspection' and either destroy it or keep it as mechanicum only. That kind of thought infuriates me, I'm honestly thinking of luring Tiki away from the Imperium just to keep them from either wasting or snuffing her talent with such idiotic nonsense.

Like, innovation will help you survive, hell it HAS helped humanity survive for so long, and yet the imperials and mechanicum are so offended at the thought that it might actually help at this millennium and age. There should be limits to innovation yes, but as long as you control the direction and how far it is going, then you don't need to fucking fear it like it's the fucking plague. I couldn't help but sigh within my private domain, to be honest, there's a lot of shit in this universe that makes it so even the simplest of ideas is a fucking vector for anything hostile. Because fuck having nice things I guess.

Anyway, I shake my head and thought about the last thing she made aside from what is basically a wanzer, it was actually something that surprised me and it is firmly making me think that Tiki may be a little more... technologically gifted than I thought. Which makes it all the more important I find a way to keep her safe just in case she doesn't want to come with me. One of the primers I gave her was based on one of goomanity's oldest technologies because I wanted to see if she'd make something new... yet she managed to finagle up some blueprints for what is basically an archaic version of the older tech I gave her.

The thing is, Tiki has an idea of what it can do, but I know EXACTLY what it is able to do. That is old technology, and it is one of the inspirations that went into the research and construction of Human HQ Cores. I'm actually very impressed and somewhat concerned, if she works out any problems that pop up and hooks it up to the entire defense grid of Castle Krakengar, it is essentially going to make it function far more efficiently than it does now on top of being able to basically control the entire grid from one location. Hell, she could plug it into a frigate sized vessel and with some slight modifications to the interior, it could be piloted by the one person alone like playing a game.

My concern is more for Tiki herself, as this could be seen as AI tech heresy (even though it is more automation) and combined with the blueprints for the wanzer prototype. I'm certainly going to have to intervene just in case the imperials decide that Tiki has to be killed for what she's done, little Bladewolf has formed a bond with her and I think she is a lovely little tech gremlin who has far too much potential to just be snuffed out like a candle light.

From within my private domain I couldn't help but lean back against my couch, just thinking about the potential consequences is giving me an aneurysm and I'm a machine! Shaking my head, I turn to look down at Yggdrasil Proper, more so at the amalgamate of Aeldari souls, the 'spectre' of the amalgamate was curled up into a ball and slumbering while the various lights within it were all blinking softly. Yet I could feel that the aeldari within were still far too weak to be separated, I gently brushed against one of them and I felt the soul shudder like anything stronger and it would shatter.

They were weaker than even the undeveloped embers of the star souls, Tyrana jumps in from time to time to inspect the amalgamate and some of my children drift closer to the slumbering being. Tyrana has got to have a strong force of will in order to be able to survive the amalgamation fully intact and ready to come out immediately. It's just a shame that so far none of the other aeldari are showing any signs of recovery yet.

Anyway, I don't really have anything important to do in the Network. I can't test out the energies just yet and I can't interact with the oldari souls within the amalgamate because they're more fragile than glass in a FedEx delivery van. So I hop out and went skyward in order to check out my space assets.

Alphatron is doing fine and now it is just hovering over Delta City, the first purger that was split off was now at 2km length. The two other goo mothers I split off from the Alphatron still haven't finished growing into Yokais just yet, though I think those four should be enough to establish orbital superiority at least. I'll have to remind myself with creating a configuration dedicated to naval artillery and stuff, along with smaller configurations for smaller classes of purger ships.

Looking to the wyvern I continually slapped thrusters on throughout its scouting of the warpstorm covered system, I noticed it has found a few things. Namely the asteroid field looked to be somewhat rich in resources, might as well drop some goo mothers off to eat the field since it is bothering no one. Another thing it found is when it approached some of the nearby planets, I could finally see what they were. One is a molten world, might be worth checking to see if there is anything in my arsenal that I could throw there to help resource acquisition. Another is a gas giant, and oddly enough there seems to be some kind of movement within it. Indigenous life of some sorts? The last planet in this system of four planets is an ice world, only that it is much smaller in terms of size I think I'd just call it an ice moon with how small it is compared to the other planets.

Nothing much in this system otherwise, I'll keep the high speed wyvern on patrol around the system and split off more wyverns from it so that if anything comes out of the warpstorm, I'll know.

As for Exalus itself, I'll send a group of harpies to check if there are any landmasses aside from the one I am currently on. I never really thought that these past few days would get so quiet, so I'll be taking advantage of it. When I look at the imperials, I guess they would be taking advantage of it too. Some of the cloaked hunter frames and radiant morphs I sent around Castle Krakengar to prevent any unwanted surprises popping up from somewhere inside, heard in passing that they are planning on restarting mining operations.

Which makes sense, I did see some mining equipment below the castle in passing. They may mine the resources so that they can restart the few factories they have left that weren't damaged in the siege. While they have a lot of laser equipment, they also have a lot of bullet and shell based weaponry in the form of stubbers, cannons, and some turret emplacements, and those require ammo, ammo that has to be manufactured.

Come to think of it, that might be why Tiki only made do with modifying and oversizing the laser equipment for her prototype wanzer blueprints. Power packs are much easier to refill than it is making new bullets after all, it is also kind of stupid how EASY it is to manufacture lasgun power packs, the resources that go into it are negligible at best and mildly inconvenient at worst.

Anywho, I should probably interact with the imperials- hmm? Ah, Bladewolf you're pinging me for something? Tiki wants to show her wanzer prototype blueprints to the general. I quickly check to see if General Maiori is with anyone and wince mentally because that would be the worst time for Tiki to show her prototype innovation, because it would seem like inquisitor Thrax, Magos Aronna are there talking with her. Along with two officers of the Shock Armor battalions, and the ones I know surprisingly enough.

Well, 'know' as in I interacted with them once. I don't actually know their names since I didn't peak into their database for a while now. I'll send an 'Eien' body to that office to either intercept Tiki or prevent the magos from immediately trying to unalive Tiki, but I don't think she might do so considering she HAS been helping Tiki with her slight innovations. Aronna helped Tiki improve the indigenous armor and she DID help before that with gatling las. So despite my memories saying otherwise, I'm going to give the mechanicus woman the benefit of the doubt that she has even a nibblet of Cawl's radicality and if she leaves me wanting, then I'll just kidna- dynamically recruit Tiki.

I briefly contemplated offering my assistance in their mining and resupply endeavors, making sure they can stay armed would take some of the load off of my forces and it would give them the ability to do their own thing. To be honest I only trust the imperials that they will backstab me when all of this is over... maybe the same with the asuryani party too, it says a lot when the ones I trust the most are warriors from the borked age of the War in Heaven. Kinda funny actually.

Ah right, back to the assistance thing, I can already tell the imperials under the command of the general and the inquisitor are going to be planning a way to strike back at the orks while the majority of the greenskin forces are clashing with the forces of Chaos up in Fort Joy.

One of the things I've somewhat forgotten is that in an army, that aside from supplies, morale is very important. So far the faces of the guardsmen and women here are actually a lot more tense than I thought. Before when the defense of Castle Krakengar was successful, they cheered and were in higher spirits. But now, they are probably wondering when will they take the fight to the enemy... well, the enemy that is not me anyway. Imperial forces here are getting a little bit restless, and so far neither Thrax nor general Maiori asked me for any kind of assistance with their future plans to raid the ork forces.

I blink and seamlessly transition into the Eien body that is approaching the office of the general, from within my private domain I couldn't help but curse slightly because I just saw Tiki literally just move through the door with an excited look on her face. Power walking my way, I heard just one set of words.

"What the frak am I looking at Tiki?" That was general Maiori's voice, and I quickly entered the office after bending down slightly to get in.

The first thing I see is Tiki showing her sketched out blueprints to Maiori who is holding it with one hand while squinting at it. Off to the side, the inquisitor, magos, and the two other officers were watching the interaction with curiosity in their eyes. The inquisitor was the first to notice my presence and I saw his body tense ever so faintly, it is hard to hide that from me.

Anyway, I came just in time as Tiki basically blurted out her heretekal (by mechanicum standards) innovation, thankfully she didn't say anything about the old tech. "I made a prototype for a new vehicle for the guardsmen!"

Quickly eyeing the other four imperials, I focused more so on Aronna and saw her blink a few times behind her goggles before she squinted at Tiki. Surprisingly enough she didn't do anything else, she was just watching Tiki a little bit too intently but that might just be me.

I saw general Maiori blink a few times in surprise before she brought the sketched out plans closer to her face and it would seem like she is inspecting it a little more thoroughly. I'm more surprised that she isn't so skeptical of Tiki actually delivering what she just said, but then again I had to remember that she made some easily refitted power armor that actually stood up against the orks on her own. Tiki also made the gatling las the same way, it was pretty much complete and only took some suggestions on improving it from myself and the magos.

"Am I right to assume that this was made using humanity's ancient technologies that Lady Eien has provided you little engineer?" Thrax spoke his piece, he now looked interested in viewing Tiki's work, and from within my domain I narrowed my eyes as it would seem like the inquisitor is contemplating recruiting Tiki himself. Actually he might be planning on recruiting a lot of what is left from this planet into his retinue now that I think about it.

Tiki would turn to the inquisitor, still looking a little bit wary considering that he IS an inquisitor, but nevertheless she nodded her head at him with a stupid grin on her face. "Yes sir lord inquisitor! The prototype I sketched out was made with a few of those techs as inspiration! Though I still have no idea what to call it, so I'll just call it a prototype armored walker for now."

"The idea is interesting and it even looks promising Tiki, but I don't know if the factories we bring online would be large enough to fabricate this thing." Hmm, last I checked the plans estimate its size at around 6.1 meters. It is actually just a tad taller than their leman russ tanks, and the magos knows it too.

"Not exactly general, I've seen some of the factories of Castle Krakengar. While they aren't as extensive nor are they as efficient as Forge World or Hive factories, this stronghold has two factories large enough for me to convert into a makeshift forge." Wait what? This magos is making me question things I know about the mechanicum, but again it might just be because she is a radical and these are extenuating circumstances.

Might as well throw my considerable weight in. "This is definitely something new, and if you will allow me young Tiki. Then I will create the prototype using materials more familiar and available to the imperium." Seeing the little engineer's look of surprise on her face and the mild offense on Aronna's own almost made me smile outwardly... almost.

"That is all well and good Lady Eien but I have a few questions for the engineer, namely how many would pilot it? How would they control it? Moreover, what are the kind of weapons can it be equipped with?" Thrax questioned with an intense look of curiosity on his face, my radical inquisitor I think you are a bit too excited for the possibility of a new toy to play with violently.

But he makes good points nonetheless, Tiki should be able to explain it. While I could do so as well, it is her creation despite how eerily similar it is to the front mission wanzers. I can't help but briefly wonder what is it like to pilot one and how would that translate to this wack universe of 40k.

-=-=-=-=-=- This is a Line Break -=-=-=-=-=-

So it's been a few hours since the sliiight incident at the office, I was given the go ahead by inquisitor Thrax, general Maiori, and by extension the little engineer Tiki to basically create the prototypes. After scanning the plans so I could construct them digitally, I found out it was rather simple to do so, then again I had experience with Valiants and my combat frames.

Another I found rather interesting is that in comparison to Leman Russ Tanks, these prototypes are actually faster to produce if I run the numbers right. Granted I'm not too familiar with how the imperium's forge worlds and hive factories actually produce vehicles but I'm slightly skeptical that there are enough forge worlds to supply a galaxy-wide empire. Some of the surviving records of the Incorruptus points to some colonies setting up their own factories to supply their PDF or garrisoned Guard Regiments, just that the quality won't be as pristine as the ones made by dedicated forge worlds.

Luckily for these imperials, they have me here to offset some quality here. I may have eaten a leman russ back underground when it got destroyed when no one was looking. Turns out if I construct the prototype walker, it's going to be slightly less durable than a leman russ tank, which is not that surprising to be honest.

Anyway, let's get to work here. Creating the prototype wanzer should be child's play really, I have to remember to use materials and technology the imperials are familiar with. Funnily enough, I actually found something rather interesting in the archives of the Incorruptus, namely what I think were the Magos notes.

Turns out Men of Stone are not considered AI, at least not AI like the Men of Iron. There are some notes that theorize Men of Stone being man-made Machine Spirits, and another saying that machine spirits are actually made from fragments of Men of Stone, which is actually a very interesting theory.

Regardless, I have a little job to do. As the mother goo I was controlling basically grew large enough to manufacture the prototype, I was hit with the sudden realization that this might just be humanity's version of Tau battlesuits, granted if Tiki's creation proves effective and if the imperium as a whole like it enough to adopt the blueprints.

Off to the side of the empty factory I commandeered for this task were some imperial officers, all of them I was most familiar with. Namely General Maiori, Inquisitor Thrax, Magos Aronna, Captain Oleg and surprisingly enough Captain Titus is there as well. They watched as I finished my quick and easy construction of the prototype walker, it didn't look painted and it just has this monotone grey color to the rest of it.

With the 40k wanzer done I just need to make its armaments, which should be easy enough to be honest. The lascannon rifle, double lascannon heavy rifle, a multi-las 'smg', and I'll give little Tiki's design some slight bonuses too. A knuckle duster, a pilebunker, and a shield the size of the mech itself. I heard off in the distance. "Aw drat, I wish I designed those first."

Chuckling to myself I then pulled mother goo away from the supersized power packs for these mech sized weapons and transformed the goo morph into an Eien body, gazing upon the completed proto wanzer. I heard footsteps and turned to the size to see the imperials walking up and inspecting the first prototype. Tiki spoke up which made all of us turn to her.

"It looks beautiful... well it could use some paint but it looks like it is ready for battle." The little engineer looked excited at the prospect of testing it, which the magos actually stopped by placing a mechadendrite on the girl's shoulder.

"Patience little engineer, this... creation of yours still needs to be tested to see if it is actually a viable piece of equipment in battle." Magos Aronna admonished, though she was staring up at what is basically a living piece of tech heresy (by mechanicum standards) with what looked like a hungry gaze of her own, even though it was hidden well.

"Which is why after reviewing those sketches, I found out the cockpit should be spacious enough and decided to recruit Titus as a test pilot." Thrax said with an interested look on his face, one that was actually mirrored by Titus as the two of them stared up at the wanzer.

That whole sentence threatened to make me burst into giggles. "Taking full advantage of Titus' astartes physiology and durability aren't you inquisitor?"

"Naturally, if the walker breaks down I'm sure the captain will be able to break out of it easily. Now engineer, how does one enter this walker?" Thrax asked Tiki and considering this was made straight from the plans, she strolled up to the leg and started climbing it, much to the mortification of general Maiori.

When she reached up to the hip of the walker however, she reached out for a button that was in the side of the torso and I was glad I decided to make the thing pre-charged because it would have been rather embarrassing for Tiki if nothing happened. Regardless the four optics on the head of the walker lit up red before the entire machine started to bend forward a little, Tiki leaped off and the top part of the torso opened up with a swivel and a large collapsible ladder came down to slam onto the ground.

"Give me a moment please! I need to program this thing first!" Before anyone could stop her, she rushed over to the ladder and climbed up so fast she looked like a steampunk squirrel before she hopped into the cockpit.

As we watched the top of her head bob and weave like she is looking around, I tossed a piece of goo up there just in case before looking at the machine itself. It looked really similar to wanzers and I'm kind of hoping this works, cause this would be very interesting to see how the imperials would use these things.

"It looks rather heavy." I saw and heard general Maiori comment on it, followed up by the magos.

"Not as heavy as you would think, I ran some numbers on my cogitator and found that the machine is half the weight of a standard leman russ tank. It will probably get a little heavier once it is outfitted with its gear, but by itself? It uses less materials than a leman russ and is half its weight, yet I can already tell most small arms fire is not going to scratch that thing." Praise from a mechanicum magos? Ok, I think it is safe for me to think that Aronna is a true radical that thinks similarly to Cawl, so I don't have to worry about her trying to murk Tiki in her sleep... will still have guards around the engineer of course.

I eye what Tiki is doing within the cockpit and saw her pick up her tablet cogitator and plugged a wire into a port on the terminal. Mentally my eyes narrow as it seems like Tiki is uploading something other than programming into the machine. Seeing and hearing the cogitator make a low ping noise, I saw Tiki's smile widen before she unplugged her cogitator and hopped onto some space, letting her be seen by the others below.

She waved at our group and I mentally blink, she can't be? "Come on up sir space marine! There's enough space for the both of us! I can show you what to do before I hop off!" Tiki called out before she waited.

Her words surprised the rest, but after a brief look at each other Titus was given the go ahead and he approached the ladder. Funnily enough the ladder was 'Astartes Approved' for durability, which made me kind of mentally giggle. I don't think I've ever seen a space marine use a ladder before.

Titus had to gently enter the cockpit so that he doesn't damage the terminals and controls with his boots and power armor, and Tiki was actually right. There was enough space that the both of them could be in there, with Titus sitting in the chair which was a little snug of a fit, and Tiki just off sitting on the side being small enough to just fit there in general.

Got to give a hand to the blue marine, he is a fast learner, Tiki only needed to explain things once and Titus could understand what each button and controller did. Though there was a slight hiccup at the end.

"Oh I uploaded an Assisting Control Engram, an ACE that will basically notify changes to the walker so you don't need to take your eyes off anything." Fucking hell did she really make something that is so dangerously close to an AI right in front of the fucking magos?!

"An AI?" Titus questioned with a wary tone, and a slight glance at Tiki, who just waved her hands in front of her face with a panicked look.

"No no no! Think of it is more like an assistant! It doesn't do anything on its own, it needs a pilot behind the wheel in order to do anything!" Tiki laughed a little hesitantly and a little fearful that she may have angered the ultramarine.

"Hmm. I see, so like a vox operator or something similar. Is that all?" Titus understanding drew a sigh of relief from the girl, and his follow up question got her to shake her head with a small smile.

"Nope! That's everything! Just start up the engine and the cockpit will close up on its own, happy testing sir marine!"

With her final piece said, Tiki stood up and vaulted over the edge, grabbing onto the ladder and sliding down it. Once she hit solid ground, she ran to the edge of the factory, where she was quickly followed by the rest of the imperials including my Eien body.

"Ready to test the new toy Titus?" My voice caused him to snap his head to the side, seeing a little grey goo blob just sitting innocently on top of a smooth surface.

"As ready as I will ever be." I watch as he clicked a small vox caster on his collar. "Beginning first test of prototype armored walker."

I'm actually a little excited, Titus pressed one of the buttons which looked a little undersized due to his build and he began flipping some switches which caused the entire machine to shake. I grinned mentally as the cockpit closed over the both of us and the various screens activated showing the view outside using several cameras.

Almost immediately I felt the entire machine lurch as Titus decided to stress the machine as much as he could straight out. Using my eyes from outside, I saw the machine first began walking with long strides before the entire machine began running which was a huge improvement from front mission wanzers as the only way they move fast normally is via sliding around.

From within the cockpit I watched Titus' hands jerk the control sticks a bit and the machine slid to a stop before the thing threw a punch. The ultramarine then made his observation known. "Everything is responsive."

"Stress testing it as much as you can huh?" I comment from my blob and was rewarded with seeing some slight amusement in his eyes, with a bit of seriousness mixed in.

"If I constantly stress the machine in this test drive, then it will give the engineer and the magos enough data to come to a conclusion about its viability in open combat.

"Well alright hotshot, why don't you stress test its weapons then." I challenged him and from the outside, my Eien body expanded one of her arms to create some empty frames to act as stationary targets.

When Titus brought the walker to the weapons, the ACE started to assist him, basically locking onto the weapons as viable equipment for the walker, as it cycled through the choices it showed info on the HUD about ammunition and other stuff about the weapons.

I watched Titus roll the two controllers before he let go to click on one of the buttons next to the right control stick and saw the walker from the outside pick up the lascannon rifle.

Returning to my Eien body, I looked at the other imperials with my 360 vision and saw Tiki all but jumping in childish glee. General Maiori was holding up a hand to her chin and looking at the machine with a critical eye, and so was the magos and inquisitor. Frankly they looked very interested in the machine that little Tiki designed.

Hearing the soft hum, I looked back at the walker to see it aiming the rifle at the empty dreadnought-sized minotaur frame. It then fired a bright bluish white laser that impacted the frame before it dissipated, leaving considerable damage on the minotaur.

Silence reigned throughout the empty factory before I saw the walker turn towards us. I nearly broke into laughter when I heard Titus speak his piece. "When these tests are over, may I have this unit?"

Yep. Innovation was quite fun, and so are big guns.

"Lady Eien, would it trouble you if I requested you to build a couple more of these? They'll be useful in planning our counterattack on the orks." Inquisitor Thrax turned to look at my Eien body and I outwardly chuckled before nodding at the inquisitor.

"I did say that you could ask me for help whenever you need it inquisitor. I'm not going to be called a liar now."

Looks like Tiki's new machine is a smashing hit.

This chapter was kind of hell to write, because my computer decided to absolutely BRICK itself that I had to make a full reformat and had to erase the work I had on chapters. So that made me cry. The backups I saved were a little too early into the chapter writing so I had to make do with writing as much as I could remember of the original chapter down, so you might see some repetitions or long winded paragraphs.

Sorry this took so long. Hopefully something like this doesn't happen again, because if it does I might be more delayed next time. Sorry!

technically, the mechanicus invents things.
that is to say, Ordinatus weapons are 100% technology and mechanicus design. centurion power armor was created after the heresy by the mechanicus.

The fundamental problem is, that unless the galaxy, specifically the mechanicus, is burning... more than normal or you are someone who has an indisputable authority in the cult to have carte blanche. your average tech priest or tech wizard has to go through a maze of bureaucracy and a search for approval from important people to bring his project to fruition. all this taking into account a lot of lines marked on the ground.

-Does it have something related to abominable intelligence? dead.

-Is it an alteration of the model shown by the sacred template of standard construction? dead or kicked out if it goes wrong, hero if it goes right.

-Have you modified this machine with the knowledge that you have not shared with the rest of the order and without local supervision or approval? expelled or killed.

-You have sold these plans to an imperial planet without the approval of the order? conversion to chrono-gladiator.

It also depends on who, where and what you do to determine if a mage or tech priest is considered a heretic or just smacked on the wrists.
