Alright, I'll be calling the vote here. Looks like you will be battling Luna then catching a Chansey. For the former, you're actually at the point where it'd be a little bit of a one-sided fight, so that'll be somewhat accelerated through. As for Chansey:
Scheduled vote count started by Daemon Hunter on Apr 1, 2024 at 2:15 PM, finished with 13 posts and 12 votes.

  • [X] Seek out a Chansey - Chanseys are located mainly within Cerulean Cave, a locale where you are most definitely ill-qualified for. However, there are a few branches of the cave which are accessible to you.
[X] Challenge Luna - A known trainer with a decently trained Growlithe, she would make for a good sparring partner while you're here. And maybe let you talk in the future.
[X] Challenge an Experienced Trainer - The other option to seek out a Pokemon battle would be to go to the Cerulean Gym and challenge one of the attendants there. You would likely even win.
[X] Call Willow - The trainer you recently defeated, she seems fun if exhausting. She just raced through the Viridian Forest and plans to challenge the Pewter City gym.
[X] Explore some Caves - Now that you have learned the basics of caving, taking on more challenging spelunking expeditions is viable. And there are a fair few options nearby.
[X] Learn to Swim - While you do know how to swim, there is a notable difference between swimming for fun and scuba diving. And an even greater difference when it comes to exploring underwater caves. Learning more advanced concepts would be fun.

96 - Opportunity to rescue a Pokemon

...well, looks like things will get merged once more then. And V and D return once more. Albeit this time you have the jump on them.

Alright, I'll be calling the vote here. Looks like the Pineco grenade wins which I find hilarious.
Scheduled vote count started by Daemon Hunter on Apr 3, 2024 at 3:14 PM, finished with 25 posts and 9 votes.

Alright, so turns out the Pineco grenade is absurdly broken at the current level of Pokemon. It instantly fainted everyone on the board. Unfortunately, Dratini missed. And as I write this, I'm realizing that Dratini quite literally rolled a 22 for each of the rolls related to him, which is a bit hilarious. Ignore the 82 in there, I fat fingered it when rolling for how things went.

Round 1 V's Zubat: Zubat used Astonish on Growlithe (DC30: 46). Growlithe loses 10% of its HP (90%)
Round 1 Growlithe: Growlithe used Ember on D's Zubat (DC15: 57). D's Zubat loses 33% of its HP (67%)
Round 1 D's Zubat: Zubat used Astonish on Dratini (DC25: 22). Dratini dodges!
Round 1 Dratini: Violet withdraws Dratini
Round 1 Pineco: Pineco used Self Destruct! Pineco loses 100% of its HP. Pineco's Sturdy keeps them up. Pineco is now at 0.1% HP.

V's Zubat Tries to Dodge/Mitigate (19). V's Zubat loses 100% of its HP. V's Zubat faints.
D's Zubat Trieds to Dodge/Mitigate (76). D's Zubat loses 67% of its HP. D's Zubat faints.
Growlithe Tries to Dodge/Mitigate (57). Growlithe loses 100% of its HP. Growlithe faints.

Round 2 V: V withdraws Zubat and runs
Round 2 D: D withdraws Zubat, drops Chansey, and runs
Round 2 Dratini: Dratini uses Thunder Wave on D and V (DC25: 22, 22). D and V dodge!
Round 2 Pineco: Violet withdraws Dratini!

Huh, there are a lot of ties so far. As it is, I'm going to just call the vote here. Time for a dice roll

1 - Focus on Chansey
2 - Misty Gym Battle

Looks like focusing on Chansey wins.

Alright, I'll be calling the vote here for Charming Chansey. I present to you the battle log.

Yeah, the other Violet did not have fun doing the equivalent of having Shellder try and break through a stall Chansey at their level. Good news is, at least Chansey got a fun bit of practice.

Round 1 Shellder: Shellder used Ice Shard (DC15: 46). Chansey loses 6% of its HP (94%).
Round 1 Chansey: Chansey used Charm (DC1: Autosuccess). Shellder's Attack fell to D+.

Alright, time for me to close the vote. Looks like you'll be heading to the Power Plant after the battle with Misty. And due to this being a 1 badge fight, you don't have to face her Starmie which is good, as that thing would have been difficult to say the least. Instead you get to fight a Psyduck and Staryu (psyduck first)

  • [X] Travel to the Power Plant - A large power plant that produces much of Kanto's electricity, it is home to several electric-type Pokemon.
[X] Call up your parents - Your parents would appreciate a call just to tell them what you've been up to. Doubly so as you are about to face your first gym battle.
[X] Learn to Swim - While you do know how to swim, there is a notable difference between swimming for fun and scuba diving. And an even greater difference when it comes to exploring underwater caves. Learning more advanced concepts would be fun.

Alright, I'm going to be calling the vote here. And it looks like it's a tie once more. Normally I'd roll a d2 to decide what plan wins, but in this case I'm just going to break the tie in favor of the plan I like best, which in this case is Come Closer. As such, that's the one that wins.

Round 1 Psyduck: Psyduck used Confusion (DC25: 46). Dratini loses 20% of his HP (80%)
Round 1 Dratini: Dratini used Thunder Wave (DC20: 57). Psyduck is paralyzed.

Round 2 Psyduck: Psyduck used Fury Swipes (DC55: 18). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 2 Dratini: Dratini used Wrap (DC15: 52). Psyduck is wrapped. Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (85%).

Round 3 Psyduck: Psyduck used Confusion (DC75: 15). Psyduck tries to escape (DC105: 6). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 3 Dratini: Dratini used Wrap (DC1: 89). Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (60%). Psyduck is wrapped. Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (45%).

Round 4 Dratini: Dratini used Wrap (DC1: 79). Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (30%). Psyduck is wrapped. Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (15%).

Round 5 Psyduck: Psyduck used Water Gun (DC75: 82). Psyduck tries to escape (DC105: 92). Dratini loses 8% of its HP (72%).
Round 5 Dratini: Dratini used Wrap (DC1: 8). Psyduck loses 15% of its HP (0%). Psyduck faints!

Alright, I'm going to call the vote here. Looks like you're going to try and solo with Dratini. In this case, I will say that Violet was somewhat overconfident in Dratini, albeit not without reason. Misty did end up treating it like a higher level gym battle than normal due to her competiveness, and as such Staryu became a notably harder target to hit, although Violet was able to emulate that as well. As for the result:

Round 1 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC35: 21). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 1 Dratini: Dratini used Thunder Wave (DC55: 17). Staryu avoided the attack.

Round 2 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC35: 41). Dratini is confused.
Round 2 Dratini: Dratini used Thunder Wave (DC70: 87). Staryu is paralyzed.

Round 3 Staryu: Staryu used Water Gun (DC60: 34). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 3 Dratini: Dratini used Twister (DC70: 7). Dratini hurt itself in its confusion -16% HP (56%). (DC75: 19) Dratini is Confused.

Round 4 Staryu: Staryu used Water Gun (DC60: 34). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 4 Dratini: Dratini used Twister (DC70: 3). Dratini hurt itself in its confusion -16% HP (40%). (DC50: 28) Dratini is Confused.

Round 5 Staryu: Staryu used Water Gun (DC60: 24). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 5 Dratini: Dratini used Twister (DC70: 48). Staryu avoided the attack. (DC25: 93) Dratini is no longer Confused

Round 6 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC60: 44). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 6 Dratini: Dratini used Twister (DC55: 53). Staryu avoided the attack.

Round 7 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC60: 30). Dratini avoided the attack.

Round 9 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC60: 44). Dratini avoided the attack.
Round 9 Dratini: Dratini used Twister (DC55: 100). Crit! Staryu lost 30% of its HP (55%).

Round 10 Staryu: Staryu used Confuse Ray (DC60: 25). Dratini avoided the attack.

When it comes to examining terrain in gyms, that's one of those things that while you can do it, generally speaking if you feel the need to do so you aren't ready for that gym. It'll mainly come into effect only for battles in the actual Leagues themselves, where you may want to check out the arena beforehand in order to plan out any moves you want to switch up and such. So I would say it's definitely a valid strategy to scout out arenas before a fight, even if it's unlikely to be relevant in gym battles specifically. Well, unless a gym leader intends you to study the terrain before hand. So for a 7th or 8th badge some of them would make it a requirement. That and as pointed out, you don't want to over rely on knowing the terrain in advance. Some gym leaders vary up the battle arena for said reason.

On that note, I think I'll call it there. Looks like this was a very close vote. :V

Alright, I'm going to close the vote here. While Learning to Swim is one of the winning votes, the other vote is tied between catching a 4th Pokemon and exploring nonconventional locations. As such, that's going to be decided by me, mostly as I have fun ideas in regards to it. As such, exploring nonconventional locations wins. You'll get a choice of a few such places to explore in this upcoming update.

Additionally, I'm debating having 1 action per week chosen by Violet herself. Just to be able to set the pace, as well as cover topics that I find interesting. It's early thoughts atm, but I'd appreciate if people shared their thoughts on it.

  • [X] Learn to Swim - While you do know how to swim, there is a notable difference between swimming for fun and scuba diving. And an even greater difference when it comes to exploring underwater caves. Dratini would have fun teaching you.
[X] Catch a fourth Pokemon - Catching a Magnemite or other electric-type Pokemon is why you came here, there are almost certainly good options present.
[X] Explore Unorthodox Locations - Exploring parts of the area most people don't will be an interesting experience. Pineco would very much enjoy hiking in the mountains.
[X] Call up your parents - Your parents would appreciate a call to congratulate you on your first gym badge.
[X] See the sights in the Area - While the attractions are limited to the Power Plant, exploring its interior would be rather fun. Chansey would appreciate the more scenic tour. Wait, why are you two here?!
[X] Call Tetsuya - An old childhood friend of yours, the two of you drifted off recently. He recently arrived in Pewter City and just barely managed to earn the Boulder Badge.
