well, if we do get a choice on which deathly hollows we create, I'm going for the Cloak.
We will be sneaking into the forbidden books section at some point.

And we are also going to be sneaking into azkaban at some point.

It's really interesting how Jacob is never really affected by the beauty of women, even if he notices it. Even Fleur, who is beautiful, half-veela, and putting effort into looking good, is merely "striking" and Jacob notes the effort that she puts into it.

Jacob's actually commented more about how and why Cedric Diggory is attractive than any female classmate.

More seriously, Jacob is barely 14. He might just be a bit of a late bloomer. He might be gay. He might just be non-romantic/ace. Who's really to say?

I just finished reading this quest and that scene a bit back where Jacob first encounters muggle society was an interesting examination of a pure blood character. Very well written where most are just "racism bad" you explore the mentality I'm depth.

Our boy doesn't know about the moon landings, I remember a scene where a pure blood was completely boggled by learning that was a thing. I hope we get a scene where he learns about them, complete with extremely pushy requests for elaboration.

Edit: look at this.

If Jacob thinks he's missing out in magical creatures imagine his self flagellation when he learns what else he didn't learn about.

Jacob can spend 5 learning actions for Muggle Studies before they stop becoming guaranteed successes. (T to P-)

Muggle Studies is an Intellect/Empathy skill, so if we're not going to take it beyond 10 and gain the increased bonuses that that involves, reaching P- and then coasting on Int/Emp bonuses might be cost effective.

Do we really care about Hogwarts muggle studies? How deeply entrenched is the pure blood bias, because a bad teacher can ruin a subject. Divination is useful, Trelawney isn't. All this requires Jacob to realize that the mundane world has things to teach him.

Also, did Harry's bite turn him into a werewolf, or is it just a dark magic injury?

We'd be studying on our own time, not taking a class, and Jacob is currently wondering if muggles are as intelligent as mail owls, so yes we care about it.

If Harry had been clawed by the werewolf it would be a dark magic injury, but he was bitten, so he's a werewolf now.
 
Jacob is all about being open minded and he seems to find non magical society fascinating enough. It would be pretty in character for him to research about it or just go out on a adventure.
 
Considering the vote is currently 37 to 20 in favour of dancing, looks like we're probably going to be spending the night with Fleur.

Shame about the auction though, we really could have used the potential cash influx (or cool magic items to take apart and study.)

Yeah, the shenanigans that Jacob will get in Hogwarts for being familiar with Fleur and possibly her date in the Yule's Ball are going to be extremely funny to read, but I still feel like the auction was a more unique opportunity.

Having said that, if @Tabula Rasa would have given us some more info about what is being auctioned would have been great... For all what we know we may have been purchasing the wizarding World equivalent of this :V.

From what we know, Jacob's mom's art is definitely a highlight of the auction.

Most of the art that is going to be there is probably considered lesser than hers. The question is if the fact that it's referred to as "the final art piece" means that there is going to be interesting non art pieces being sold as well.

That was mostly a joke, BUT I still consider a little weird to have basically zero information about what else is being sold there though... In action houses you have plenty of fliers, posters, etc with some of the most valuable items in display.

Your mother has given you access to the assigned funds for this night. Go and participate on the auction and buy whatever it is that fancies you most for a sum so horrendously high, that a single person could not carry the weight in gold.
 
I'm not seeing it as a "harem", I just foresee comedy moving forward. To my knowledge, there is only one girl overtly interested in Jacob in that way, Megan. Tracey could conceivably be there as well, or on the way there, but we haven't gotten as much with her so it is hard to say if she sees Jacob as more than a friend/rival. I think any talk of this being a "harem" is exaggeration.
