[X] Alive and well - Prioritize keeping Black, Pettigrew and Lupin alive. This will impact the rolls against you. When one tries to get it all … one might lose it all.
I don't think Jacob would really care too much about anyone here, it's just that Lupin, Black and Pettigrew are the key to solving the mystery and keeping them all alive would be the biggest challenge which Jacob would love.

[X] Plan As All Things Should Be – 5 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 5 TE for [Last Act]

[X] This could be a Tragedy – You still don't know if Black and Pettigrew are innocent or not. Maybe only one of them is a criminal, maybe its both of them. It's very simple. You don't care. Lupin would be a tragedy. But it is more important to save the students and keep both of yourselves without bites

Jacob is a child, any teacher that falls apart like that in a conversation with a teenager in puberty should really not be teaching at that moment or should be preventing that type of conversation. Jacob was an ass in more objective terms maybe, but he's the student and the child here, Lupin carries responsibility for that sort of thing and dealing with it in these types of situations.

Hm, yes, Lupin's... current psychological state clearly indicates that he should not be teaching students, not when his emotional equilibrium is so fragile. It is not the students' responsibility to see to such matters.

Combined with Lupin's gross negligence in not taking his medicine, something which could easily result in the deaths of many students, one cannot disagree with the assessment that Lupin is very much an unfit teacher.

Well, considering that the great Dumbledore could not be bothered to take the extra measures that he should have to ensure that the students would not be mangled by a rampaging werewolf, it is not surprising that the Headmaster would also not bother to determine if potential teachers are of sufficient psychological and emotional stability to be interacting with students.

He has been running through new teachers for more than 13 years by now? He is bound to run out of good options in an already small candidate pool.

They mystery of the curse on the position has the potential to be interesting.

(Also I'm sad we didn't get to witness jacob's reaction to Lockhart, I'm imagining a "meeting Excalibur" face)

Honestly, I have been wondering what the first two years were like.

Dumbledore and extremely shitty DADA teachers are kinda an iconic duo.

When the common bet among the students is whether the DADA teacher will survive after attacking Harry Potter at the end of the year (can't remember if that was only fanon or not) it makes it hard to think Dumbledore was ever that good at hiring actually good people for the position.

Only fanon, but given teenagers and pattern recognition? I am sure there have been people that have discussed it.

Not sure how much they would to be honest. Quirrell was kept secret or Harry's involvement was at least, Lockhart was semi-public but I don't think the details were released, Lupin's reason for resignation wasn't told either, Barty turned out to be a death eater but escaped and I'm not sure what happened to Umbridge was public either.

Hey, to be fair with Lupin, Jacob has entered his room, and pushed all his trauma buttons at once with the subtlety of a Sledgehammer to the croth... Even the sanest person could have a momentary break down and need a few hours to put himself together.

The other part, about the medicine, is pretty awful, but to be fair it is also stupid that Dumbledore and Snape are only providing a dose of Wolfsbane potion on the day of the full moon... Hell I would have given it several weeks prior to that and made sure that he always have one vial on his pocket...

But hey, if they were all acting like reasonable adults the climax of the Prisoner of Azkaban would have been really anticlimactic...

That reminds me of this one

Perfectly understandable, take your time...

But let me say that I truly hope that this quest can continue past this third year even if it is in a much more sporadic manner... You are a wonderful writer and reading your updates is always an absolute treat.

To quote Dumbledore: "What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret, so, naturally, the whole school knows." Probably not the details, but people know the gist. I think people have also come to expect after at least two years of it that Harry gets up to some big thing just before finals and the DADA prof is usually involved.

I believe the Wolfsbane Potion doesn't keep long, in the book Snape mentions that to Lupin when he delivers it that one time Lupin is meeting with Harry.

Thank you so much. I will try my best at juggling this. But what I will do for sure is reach the end of year three together with you. This was my minimum goal for what I have in mind next.

I have been struggling with prioritizing writing for the last few years, because energy put into my career had simply a much higher return. By now, I have reached a very comfortable situation though, so my long-term plans have changed somewhat.

I can't keep up putting too much time into this, when I am working towards nothing; as in only writing in someone else's IP. So, I want to mix it up in the future. This quest will keep getting updates in slower fashion, because I am able to learn a lot with the different sets that I put up. I said multiple times that I wanted to focus on trying different things here, which is why the character of Jacob came in very handy.

Additionally, I will start a separate quest with fully Original Content in it. The goal is to have a rough manuscript in the end. I enjoy creating fiction with all of your input, decisions, creativity, wishes and fantasies. I also think that writing in a way that keeps it always fresh and interesting for the lot of you (Reading a few scenes at a time), is a guarantee that the flow of the story is interesting for any reader, reading it in a few long sittings.

Working towards this goal will allow me to maintain inputting time on the regular and will benefit you guys, because you will be getting at least one story that you like (and maybe a second, that fits your bill).

It will probably take a little while longer to start that additional quest, as I am still setting up the world building. I have learned a lot writing 'Rien ne va plus' and even more writing this one. In the first Quest I focussed heavily on all the living and breathing people. It was important to me to have a set of very real characters, which is why I had so many POV-Chapters. In this quest here, I put most of my brain matter into the creation of surrounding world instead. I wanted to make the magic and wonder as real as possible. And there are still so many things I set out for you to discover! We will have a blast hopefully.

Next, I want to do both. Characters and World Building. Which is a lot. But it will be a cool project that I would like to create together with you guys 😊 For the meantime, we have our little antisocial egomaniac with a heart of gold though.

… And he still needs to somehow survive two versions of Lupin, two of Pettigrew, one Sirius Black, Dementors and a human bat that doesn't necessarily want what you guys want out of this night. Let us hope the rolls favour you!

I love world building if you wanted active participation in that part as well. Create a thread for it. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to brainstorm up some stuff.

I'm wondering, what's the policy on omakes? If I'm bored at work tomorrow I may write something. No promises though.

Sidestory Explanation (Non-Canon) / (Canon)

In Rien ne va Plus omakes got rewarded and were placed into 'sidestory' with a canon/non-canon/semi-canon tag. I don't know if Tabula Rasa feels the same way about omakes now of course, but that's what happened in their last quest.
