Seems like the Obsession mechanic takes a toll on Jacob and it's been noted by different people. The Animagus transformation is really interesting but it is a really big time sink to get the skill and complete it. Megan talking to Jacob about the case was really sweet but really Megan if you want an authority to know you can just tell a teacher, on the other hand she may not want to betray Jacob's trust like that. Jacob being his normal self if a bit more blunt with Lupin was both hilarious and really sad given how bad Jacob is at Empathy and how messed up Lupin is. The whole mess at the end of the year is great and I love how you are showing the Marauders.

This whole thing is something that Jacob is really excited for but is really dangerous, regardless of how it goes Jacob is going to be on the Main Character's radar and Dumbledore will be cornered. I feel like this is going to push Jacob to grow even more, but now into the Dark Arts so he can have that raw destructive power. So next year is Mind Arts, Dark Arts and Animagus.

Honestly, animagus sounds like a project that is at least a whole year to do if not two.

Yeah, glancing over Jacob's spell repertoire doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for this encounter. If Jacob is going to survive this he needs to be careful and clever.

Hm, is there a way to use the environment to Jacob's advantage, strike from the metaphorical rear and flank, so to speak?

Our objective isn't to beat Lupin, we don't need to kick his ass. We have flight to the point that he can't reach us, we have a huge advantage here. What we want to do is get the time turner and GTFO. It could be as simple as diffindo the chain and then use Wingardium Leviosa to levitate it up to us or Avifors to pick it up off the ground.

Piss off Lupin enough and he won't be thinking about the time turner but he'd still be unable to reach us. At that point he'll be wide open and getting it would be much easier.

Jacob is not going to win in a direct, close-range fight with a werewolf, less so when trying to keep schoolmates alive. One does not need the extra complication of chopping off his own legs in trying to keep the werewolf alive as well in what is very much a life and death emergency.
That is the thing... We don´t need to fight at short range, with Talaria we can remain always at 8 meters above Lupin which is enough to be completely out of range of his claws and fangs...

Since we have shoes that allow us to walk in the air, we can strike from a position of total aerial superiority...

If we absolutely need to mess him up I suppose we could cut down trees with diffindo so they land on him and then set the forest on fire. But that seems unneccesary, lets call that Plan D or E

I hate that Jacob has this opinion that Lupin is a bad teacher. It's entirely reasonable to think a third year student couldn't learn the patronus.

Voting is open I believe.

[] Plan 6 Werewolf, 5 Saving, 4 Last Act – 6 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 4 TE for [Last Act]

Went with using all the Time Echos as the stakes are pretty dire. 6 for the Werewolf fight, 5 for Saving Potter since there will also be a werewolf there but there will also be more potential backup if things go wrong, and 4 TE for the Last Act to ensure everything resolves smoothly.

Edit:

[X] Plan As All Things Should Be – 5 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 5 TE for [Last Act]

Switched to the balanced plan that puts 5 Time Echos in each arc. Reason being that we really have no idea how this whole thing will shake out. Maybe the beginning fights are harder and it gets easier as it goes along with more people arriving to provide support and distractions. Maybe the beginning werewolf fight is easy and it gets harder as it goes on with more people coming into play bringing in more complications. I think it is kind of hard right now to predict things with the limited information available. So I'm just gonna switch to the balanced plan to try to cover all bases.

[x] This could be a Tragedy – You still don't know if Black and Pettigrew are innocent or not. Maybe only one of them is a criminal, maybe its both of them. It's very simple. You don't care. Lupin would be a tragedy. But it is more important to save the students and keep both of yourselves without bites.

Prioritizing keeping Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Jacob alive and without bites. I don't think Jacob will resort to lethal force unless the situation calls for it. Hopefully him going in seriously from the beginning makes it so a desperate situation doesn't develop.

[X] Alive and well - Prioritize keeping Black, Pettigrew and Lupin alive. This will impact the rolls against you. When one tries to get it all … one might lose it all.

The sections with the werewolf around seem the most dangerous for all those concerned so I'm sticking with
[X] Plan No bites allowed – 6 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 6 TE for [Saving Potter], 3 TE for [Last Act]

[X] Plan Ending Focused – 3 TE for [Werewolf Fight], 5 TE for [Saving Potter], 7 TE for [Last Act]

I went for 3 echoes on the werewolf fight because I think we should spend more time echoes on saving everyone from bites and resolving this whole thing rather than fighting Lupin. We don't need to fight him and we have complete air superiority, this is the least dangerous part of the upcoming event.

I went 5 for Harry because we know he's alive, so it's more about saving him from injury/bites than actually keeping him alive. There's also a CQC werewolf here so we could use the extra oomph.

Then I went for 7 for the last act because...

(3) the resolution of everything that you don't know yet. Because in the end there will still be one version of Black, Pettigrew and Lupin to account for. And you don't know what to expect with any of them, because it has not happened yet.

We have basically no info to go off of here so we're going to be going into this mostly blind so I think we'll need the most help here. Lupin is still around and we can still get bit or injured, we're best off allocating the biggest bonus here.

[X] Alive and well - Prioritize keeping Black, Pettigrew and Lupin alive. This will impact the rolls against you. When one tries to get it all … one might lose it all.

Going for this one because why would we dump all out echoes and not try to go for the best ending? Stopping bites or saving Lupin is the bare minimum, we're going all out so we should act like it.

Guys, the werewolf fight is the fight we're running into now with complete air superiority and not having to actually win the fight. We don't need to go heavy on it, it's probably the easiest part of the upcoming events. Save the echoes for saving Harry and the finalie where we have a CQC werewolf and a lot of unaccounted for moving parts respectively.

Fits my priorities.
I strongly don't want "This could be a Tragedy" too because of how it reflects on Jacob's character too. Killing people is not something someone his age should have to do.

Spare the children. Balance the scales. Echoes across time guide your path, even as it turns and loops. You know what to do.

what if we use the cheering charm and the tickling charm to make lupin double over with laughter, and while he's laughing we can hit him with the dancing feet spell to make him completely lose balance.

Could we turn him into a rabbit with lapifors?

Or if we use our magic shoes can we just use wingardium leviosa to lift the time turner to us?

and since we know that sirius gets thrown out the window or something we can spongify the floor to lessen the impact for him.

Didn't think about that one, but we might be able to. We did do it to a person after all.

I don't see why we couldn't, we have a lot of options for taking the turner. I don't actually see this part as all that dangerous. The real problem comes when we go to the shack.

I want to focus on the werewolf fight a little more than the other two, whereas avoiding getting bitten is trivial thanks to Talaria, getting the Time tuner without Accio seems really tricky...

I feel like not using our wolf patronus to distract the werewolf would be a huge missed opportunity. It's just perfect lol.
