A Flame of Hope in the Grim Darkness (A 40k/Multicross Quest)

Hopefully we have the other Karak land-based vehicles (Coalition, Gaalsien, Khaaneph, etc).
Coalition yes if we have any of them we would have those. Gaalsien hopefully, they have that hover tech and all that other tech that allowed them to survive in the deep deserts of Karek where temperatures get above boiling (+100 C). The Khaaneph is unlikely, not unless we captured any from the small contact we had with them.
As for Turanic and Vaygr ships? Hopefully we have A LOT of samples and scans to work with.
I certainly hope so as they have some really good designs, the Vaygr not the Turanic raiders. The Turanic Raiders have low quality but rather easy to produce designs from my understanding.

As for Bentusi designs....Hm....I (unfortunately) don't have any of the Homeworld games. I thought that the Acolyte plans were still in the Hiigaran arsenal? Or copied scans of Bentusi ships, at least.

I would presume the rest of the ground vehicles are there as well, yes.

We should still have the normal Acolyte designs of course. But if we still have the plans for the Bentusi 'Super Acolyte' variant that somehow mounts two rapid-fire capital grade ion cannons into a light fightercraft frame I'll be pleasantly surprised. (And it should be noted that even for the mission you get it, your scientists outright tell you that the Bentusi deliberately blackboxed the blueprint such that they can't get the designs for said rapid-fire ion cannons out of it without ruining them). The Bentusi never let you scan or analyze their own ships.

Turanic and Vaygr all depends on how capture-happy this particular run of Homeworld was. Probably at least a few, but who knows how many. Overall not that big a deal either way, as they're pretty much on-par with Kushan vessels, though there would definately be some upsides, mainly from the Vaygr.

It's a shame we didn't include The Head from Project Moon, otherwise we could've had Arbiters that had useful conceptual abilities and power to deal with minor planetary threats on their own.

You refer to Library of Ruina/Lobotomy Corporation/Limbus Company? That...would be wild. I haven't played any of the Project Moon games. But from what I've heard....it'd be pretty crazy. Especially if we have anomalies in some underground vault. Even Guardians might have a hard time with some of these entities.

Yeah, ALEPH anomalies are really destructive to use as a weapon, even WAWs can probably end 21st century earth given the appropriate type of abilities.

The main problem with using anomalies so the mental corruption they just spread everywhere, going back to ALEPHs, they'd probably turn an entire city and its neighbors fall into chaos because of their sanity reducing effects, on the other hand we might get access to EGOs which can be very, very useful against chaos if our chosen armors had good White damage (Mental/Spiritual), not to mention we can probably end Daemons with either White Black or Pale damage and rely on the conceptual abilities provided by each EGO.

Another problem with that would be, you need an adequate mental resistance in the form of the 4 cardinal virtues or sheer will power in order to actually utilize it, and falling to chaos is easy without that or if you just receive enough mental damage.

For the information of everyone else here, Red damage is any physical damage ranging from blows, to magic, to even the Deletion of space. It all counts as Red damage and Red resistances provides an amount of resistance to all of them.
White is mental damage, any direct assaults to the mind counts into this.

Black is where it starts to get very Haxxy, it corrodes your mental and physical existence, dealing both Red and White damage at once, but at the same time NOT being beholden to either resistances, you can have the best person with mental fortitude and physicality like an astartes and you'll still deal damage as normal, effectively acting as direct/true damage that reduces both health and sanity all at once.

Pale is the rarest damage type, it is simply put: the concept of Death. It can paralyze, erode the soul, stop bodily/mechanical functions and conceptually just bring anything closely resembling "life" closer to death. It is effectively percent damage with speed debuffs and soul destroying properties.
Useful vs very strong enemies like living planets and hiveships if we can effectively direct it.

Edit: just to clarify, it doesn't work quite like that against immortal entities like Chaos Gods and their executives, maybe to some executives, but the trend won't be in our favor. Instead it just acts like True/Direct damage against true immortals, which Black can already do but better, but with the added benefit that most things that exist are weak against it even if they are immortal, dealing multiple times the damage we otherwise could've caused.

I wonder....could Darkness based powers (from Destiny) have any effect against the mental effects of the anomalies? Cause Darkness-based powers DO have heavy ties to the mind, emotions, dreams and memories, and more.

Can you imagine if the Magical Girl-type anomalies (Queen of Hatred, King of Greed, Knight of Despair, Servant of Wrath) and their antagonist (Jester of Nihil) showed up in one of our cities? MORE LOOT FOR THE GUARDIANS! Jokes aside, the E.G.O equipment from the abnormalities could be very useful....provided the sanity eroding effects are mitigated/nullified....

I read the wiki for Darkness and I still don't get it in general, but any mental protection that interacts with the "Result" of anomaly abilities should work to an extent, especially conceptual ones.

work despite not being able to interact, observe or manipulate the "process" in which it happens.

If we had M Corp's singularity, Moonlight Stones, we wouldn't have to worry about that since high quality Moonlight Stones negate mental damages altogether, even trauma from natural processes.

But since we're probably not so lucky, yeah, Magecraft can also help a bit if the technique stabilizes the person rather than trying to interact with the E.G.O.'s effects.

We can also try getting Solomon and our other casters to change the extraction method to apply a concept of absolute obedience or protectorship to the E.G.O. being made.

E.G.O. is essentially an extra dimensional higher being that can resist all laws and logic trying to analyze it, turned into equipment. Imagine looking into the mirror / another universe and the reflection beyond is just you, you but powerful, living as an existence that may had existed before time itself and interacted with every possibility in the multiverse, past present and future.

Which you call upon and turn it into an equipment, that's why E.G.O corrodes you and the reason why you can't just use the full power of the anomaly it is from, you essentially "wear" or "wield" the transformed body of a divine reflection, it actively fights for control, it gets worse depending on the Risk Level it is at, and so does the power it offers.

I'd suggest making some sort of smithing addition or creation contract with E.G.O being made from appropriate anomalies, ones that don't resonate with ideas of rebellion, like Knight of Despair.

This will prpbably turn them from Entities you bargain power with, into protectors, allowing you to access their full might in exchange for them being more active or trying to "protect" you in their own ways, so basically, Knight of Despair is prime candidate.

Imagine having true ALEPH agents, they may not be be able to break apart planets like super weapons, but they can wash technologically advanced worlds with destruction by their lonesome.

In comparison, the Heavenly Bull that Enkidu and Gilgamesh fought is around lower to middle level ALEPH in terms of sheer might, higher level ALEPHS like the Green Midnight can spam Black type lasers that liquify mountain ranges in an instant. You'll need power from the Gods to handle them safely, except for two anomalies.

I doubt we'd be let own an anomaly literally called Apocalypse Bird, so Twilight E.G.O is probably out of our reach, well at least Queen of Hatred's E.G.O can deal all 4 damage types at once like Twilight does.

Even without all of that, it's still possible for us to have very strong armies with E.G.O, WAW and ALEPH E.G.O seem to give the about same power as a HE anomaly, while the Astartes with their 45 times peak human strength and Bolters are only ZAYIN.

WAWs can take on an army of TETHs, scale that down to ZAYIN and HE and we have ourselves a good way to eliminate Battle barges from within and take on literal armies. It won't work against head-on confrontations against 40k ships, but it's still a significant advantage to have fighters able to take on Space Marines, Orks or Eldar infantry by the thousands solo (unless the opposition has strong support tech stuff to close the gap, or high level Psykers)

Edit: to clarify again, basically you're wearing/wielding a conscious existence, immune to most of the effects of reality but still responds to your Willpower and your thoughts, making it easier to wield if you're compatible in mind, but increasing the chance it takes over you, so if we have a way to make them indirectly obedient or imbued with conceptual level bindings, we can make them safer to use.
Of course, dealing with the mental corrosion directly also works, so long as you don't try changing anything about the process (of how it corrodes you, it will fail) without another E.G.O specialized for that purpose.

Pretty impressive. I can only imagine the chaos that would happen if we had access to Project Moon resources for this quest.

Alas....we'll have to make do with what we have. Unless...we get access to it later? I dunno....It'd be rather hilarious if we just dropped the magical girl abnormalities and watch them wreak havoc on Orks, Chaos Marines, or Daemons.....

I'm eager to see where this quest will go.

We probably won't get access to high level stuff so easily, but then again, extracting even HE or above is a dangerous process with a lot of drawbacks, and can be devastating to us if not handled carefully, we'll have to direct a large portion of our resources handling safety and contingencies for the E.G.O technology, so it may be feasible.

On the other hand, if we had access to the Seed of Light, we can have people manifest their own E.G.O in times of emotional stress, perfect for YoRHa androids actually, they're "Human" enough in mind, and allowing their minds to grow enough to manifest E.G.O using the Seed of Light we infuse to some of them is a great boon, since they raise our kids. Though, EGO manifested in this manner is often weaker than anomaly extracted ones, around ZAYIN to HE level, even triumphing over the "worst" experiences like Guts from berserk only nets you TETH or HE, there's this guy Vergilius who rose above something similar and and had a strong mind, easily the most talented among billions in humanity, best of the best able to massively exceed a GhostRunner in skill, in addition to the singularities available to amp his skills, and he barely got a WAW or HE.

but you have access to its full power and cannot be lost, since it's literally just "you", like Personas, summon or dismiss them at will.

I made it sound like E.GO. tech is some dominant presence that topples most things in the galaxy, but even the strongest only allow you to dominate a planet and maybe cheat your way through some tough fights, not to mentione most of it is around TETH level.

Besides, if we just want to take in armies, Cu Cullain's noble phantasm is an instant win button, it instantly kills anything that it hits and can kill entire armies, we're set for life on that front.

It's strong, but won't make us gods of the 40k universe even if we master it.

Edit: But there is a way we can make a God out of it. Remember the Traveler? We can ask it to emulate a human mind as its thought process. Then we can hand it any E.G.O. we want, the EGO will be empowered equal to the Traveler's mental prowess, depending on how strong its mind is, we will have our galaxy spanning god back in full order without attracting the attention of darkness assuming The Traveler will only use the powers that the EGO gives it.

By the way, when are we building a dyson swarm or something of the like?
I watched a video from Isaac Arthur about building ones by mining out mercury, isn't there a lot of tech that allows us to synthesize materials?
We can probably hide its presence with magecraft and tech from YoRHa that got combined with UNSC stuff.

the big thing with NIER Automata is that it grants us access to mass producable supersoldiers of a caliber that the Imperium of Man can't quite match(in an infantry versus infantry sense) without resorting to the fairly rare Space Marines, or the even rarer Assasinorum members, Sisters of Silence, or Grey Knights.

Nier Automata provides mass producible infantry that in a 1v1 drastically out perform Sekutarii and Sisters of Battle.(while still probably loosing to all but the least experienced Space Marine Scouts, to say nothing of their actual veteran space marines in a straight up fight)

Destiny provides us with our Space Marine equivalents, with numbers that are shockingly comparable to the the entire official Space Marine population of the entire Imperium of Man(in that they fall within an order of magnitude of each other); only ours are all effectively Librarians, and technically can't die in battle.

Chaldea's Servants are our own answer to the Imperium's Grey Knights, Elite Assassinorum agents, Sisters of Silence, and Custodites, with capabilities that are in the same general range as these extremely elite, extremely rare, agents of the Imperium as well.
I'd argue that the average combat android, barring H types and maybe D types are superior to 3rd company space marines, bbecause of greater physicality.

strength, agility, speed and combat skill (maybe not experience, but definitely skill, and even that can be remedied because they train via thousands of iterated simulations) are superior to marines, not to mention they'd have way more tools and weapons in their person thanks to their pods.

Barring maybe first or second company veterans, YoRHa units can even demolish buildings and machines really easily, without even stopping, with their charged attacks based on the manga and anime, so a close up melee confrontation would be in their favor especially in team fights.

They may not be as experienced in coordination as Marines, but they'd be able to utilize crowd control and anti-group tools way better in team vs team combat, maybe around groups of 12 v 12. I mean, they're anime super soldiers, and Space Marines aren't quite as strong as the fandom makes them out to be (the books go into better detail, barring the occasional odd authors that think 40k is an anime)

Plus there is the whole thing that they have what amounts to micro nukes in their Blackboxs. As long as they are properly backed up then each one is potentially at least a tactical nuke that walks around incognito. Even the Astartes can't claim that and it would be hard to fight against for our enemies if we get that desperate.
