Economic System Vote Results
And it looks like Decentralized Socialism has won the vote.

Adhoc vote count started by BobTheNinja on May 6, 2023 at 1:06 PM, finished with 63 posts and 25 votes.

  • [x] Decentralized Socialist Economy - A system in which most civilian capital is subject to public control, mostly in the form of local and regional co-operatives and other community organizations based on democratic governance, with private ownership largely being limited to personal-scale businesses. Ensures broad and highly equitable allocation of capital and resources, but may experience co-ordination problems at larger scales.
[X] Write in: Mixed Socialist Economy - A hybrid of Decentralized and Centralized Socialist economic systems in which sectors of the economy that see natural monopolies are publicly managed by a governmental administrative body or bodies, while others are managed by non-governmental, democratic organizations or private ownership as described in Decentralized Socialist Economy.
[X] Social Liberal Economy - A mixed market economy with a much greater commitment to universal welfare services and public utilities, as well as expansive rights and protections for workers, though still allowing a largely privatized economy. May fall into the same pitfalls as a Capitalist economy over time.
    [X] Capitalist Economy
    [x] Decentralized Socialist Economy
[X] Capitalist Economy - A fairly standard mixed market industrial/service economy, with most non-critical civilian infrastructure and capital being relinquished to private ownership. Initial allocation will be fairly equitable and based on merit. Can allow for dynamic productivity, but will most likely introduce problems of inequality, class conflict, monopolistic pressures, excessive focus on profit, and political influence accrued by the wealthy, unless diligently regulated.

I'm assuming the next chapter will show our characters after finishing making these policies?

And they'll just...talk I guess?

Compare stories?

Chaldeas explanation will be fun! With the amount of crazy and insane stuff they get into.

Something like that, thought the policies themselves will be more of an ongoing process, with only the general direction being settled on. And yeah, you can expect a good amount of story/history exchange.

I wonder bullshit tech our top researchers can create with all the new sciences and perspectives we'll be sharing

The Androids and Machines sharing their story is just going to be depressing.

Although, I think Empress Caiatl will respect them for enduring for so long.

I'm just going to put this out now...Rasputin is going to be LIVID when he hears all the details of what the Androids and Machines were put through.

Yah... the androids and machines, there like child soldiers on two different sides of the war fighting for the sins and anger of their parents/nations and been doing for years, and rasputin would probably see them as children like version of himself in them and would be pissed on the blood spilt on both side, while also sympathizing with them, i can already see him getting the title, father rasputin from some of the newer androids and machines that would have been built in the future

At least now Rasputin can teach them what Ana taught him.

Art, literature, History, philosophy, music.......

If Rasputin is the Father, then Ana is either the Mother or Grandmother.

You better believe she's gonna spoil them rotten with hugs!!!

I look forward to nier finding out they are magitech. Chaldea reaction would also be priceless

Too be fair to the Humans, they were already dead by the time that kerfluffle started. It is on the head of the Machines creators. No Humans just put androids in charge of a longshot desperate last hope that failed, giving them all crippling depression.

It was a horrible situation for everyone.

I'm sad that their Humanity never got to see them grow.

Rasputin. "MY FOOT IS GOING IN SOMEONE'S ASS!"

I can imagine the entire meeting just... going into kinda shock when they hear everything. Like, sure they all had their own brand of hell in their histories, but the Androids is different in that Humanity went completely extinct. Chaldea has the one up on them mainly because uh... well, just look at all the Lostbelts which all have just as much, if not more, tragedy crammed into them than Babylonia and The Round Table Singularity crammed into one. I can imagine most of the Servants having a soft spot for the Androids. You know, most that aren't assholes. Gilgamesh would probably be... conflicted.

Also, given who... Rasputin was in the Chaldea timeline, it's going to take some getting used to for some of them.

I feel like all the aliens in the room are simply contemplating the situation.

The Aliens: "Are Humans just a multiversal constant or something? How did we all get our asses kicked and then be befriended by the same goddamn species?!"

So this has been percolating in the back of my head since I found out what the civilization vote resulted in. Both Nier and Chaldea have stuff that normal humans simply can't work with to different degrees. With the the economics vote we are also going to need to have a method of ensuring that everyone benefits in an equitable and fair way while also ensuring that happens in a way that people at least perceive as fair or at least worth suffering when required. People straight up being unable to interact with a whole branch of tech just is not going to fly, especially considering how outnumbered we are and our production capacity.

On top of that, we also have a bunch of people from wildly different cultures that just got mashed together but are also segregated in their own cities. The only reason this isn't going to end in war is because the everyone knows that the universe itself is hostile and we all speak the same language.

So yeah, I'd like to propose a joint project involving all of the polities at least a little that will help provide at least a modicum of security to every citizen that not only will their needs be met but also that they won't just randomly get yanked by chaos or some other random bullshit they had no way of even noticing happen.

What I'm proposing would be spearheaded by Chaldea and the Automata crew simply because they have the largest amount of experience with really exotic bullshit alongside the experts in such.

So we start with a Servant style container. Chaldea can produce these things pretty much at will. The big cost is in summoning a Hero into them so we just skip that part and use the a modified Pod AI for the core identity and some of their experience in coining homunculi for an artificial circuit network and their own tech for sorting magic and generating it from electricity. Include some of the MMI tech from the Kushan for direct control and artificial nerve circuits for both binding the resultant spirit and information transfer but not power so that they don't degrade from overwork.

From there we add stuff like the engram storage tech from the Sol factions so everyone can always have items on hand and the ability to install Automata style plug in chips for combat and other QOL enhancements.

From there, how someone keeps the resultant spirit would be up to them but options would be anything from a Ghost/Pod like companion to an accessory or even overlayed on the owner like a demi-servant depending on how invasive a given citizen is willing to get.

Even if we don't use all of the idea, at the very least, providing every citizen with a Pod/Ghost style companion would be essential to making the lowest impact insurance that everyone can make informed decisions about the direction society runs in considering their advisory capacity.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this project is largely about ensuring that everyone can at least minimally interact with any tech across all of the polities, provide a framework for future enhancements and a base level of defense against shit like Chaos, telepaths and the random unethical magus hypnotizing people. As such, yeah, it's kind of bare bones but if done right then it provides a framework for future work.

So everyone gets a Persocom that's also a robot mage?

...I don't know how to feel about this. Have a like.

EDIT:

Question. How sentient are these...let's call them Assistants. And is it the usual sort of sentience where the sense of self is centered on the Assistant's, well, self, or an intentional self-'disorder' where the sense of self is centered on the designated user?

I'm happy to report that I've started a new routine that I hope will help me with writing more consistently. I've made a bit of progress on my next post tonight, so at least it's a start.

I confess that Honkai Star Rail has also got its hooks in me now, but I'm trying to account for that in my new routine as well.

That's great!

And I'm assuming your getting some ideas from HSR for all the narrative bits of this quest?

1) you intend to post the update sometime this night
2) you made writting progress during the course of this night

Sorry, I mean I've gotten a chunk of writing for the post done tonight, but it's nowhere near ready. Probably won't be fully ready to post until at least this Saturday, though I will try to squeeze in more writing time when I can to help things along.

So… I mean they are based on Pods and Ghosts so they are fully realized individuals but with different priorities than most people. If you mistreat them enough, they can just up and leave but they are also primarily social creatures so they want to help people and bond with them.

So they have the same rights, legal and cognitive, as the rest of our citizens. Good to know.

Although. Define 'with different priorities'? Are we talking different psychological drives or more of a cultural 'this is who we want them to grow up to be' thing?

How far are you in Star Rail?

different psychological drives

im a destiny fan
so context here, the traveler (the giant magitech ball),fought the darkness (entities whose powers come from the concept of simplicity, competition, destruction, taking etc)
in its last moment before going a willing coma (the darkness pursues the traveller,so if they think is sleeping/dead it stays away)
created ghosts, small shards of its power that can imbue light (a conceptual magical power based on the opposite concepts than the darkness)
all ghost have this psycological drive to seek dead individuals that are worthy and revive them through light
and esentially become their allies/friend/partners
