When you look at Omakes objectively (as someone else butting into your story-thread with their own fan-fanfic) ES's attitude towards it does make sense.

The reason he sometimes looks unreasonable when he points this out is a 50/50 split between the fact that Omakes are a staple on SV, and on SB before it. ES is the only author on either site (that I know of) who reacts like that towards Omakes.

The other reason is, of course, the fact that ES tends to be extremely vitriolic and rude when the subject comes up. I'm not talking about the Worm thread either, I first saw ES start ranting about Omakes right here in the Droll Hivemind thread.

The only way ES could have been more offensive in his response is if he literally told the poor bastard who wrote it to fuck off and die.

Glad to see ES has calmed down a little on that front. It's fine to not like/allow Omakes in your thread, but frothing at the mouth and insulting people just makes you come off looking like the bad-guy.
 
Could we please drop the bloody Omake topic before ES gets annoyed and makes all his future threads Story Only?

Today I Learned:

Bilingual Bonus: In order to fit in, Misaka-11111 takes on the moniker 御坂唯 (Misaka Yui) . The joke here being that whilst the family name is identical to canon ToAru's Mikoto, the character "Yui" is a homonym for "just". In other words, Misaka-11111 is Just Misaka.

ES often does updates of his fics on Wednesday if he happens to have a backlog of unreleased chapters; he doesn't release them on FFN immediately after writing them. He's worked through most of his backlog at the moment, I think all he has left unreleased is one chapter of Overlady, which is why he hasn't updated for a while there. Guess Brexit stuff has him too much on edge to write or whatever.

Also, people still use TvTropes? Blargh. Why?

it's fun and 10 to provide a fairly thorough and entertaining synopsis of shows that you might be interested in watching
 
So, who is the fashion conscious Mizaka? Cause if the member of the Hivemind try to differenciate themselves by each of them picking a different hobby it would be awesome.

Of course, some of them do boring stuff, like collecting caps (And cosplay as a cat).

Hmm... Well, in the LNs, when they all go for their checkups, they all pay attention to the love horoscopes in the mags that they read... Fashion... I dunno if it was mentioned there...
 
I don't think they are allowed to fashion. They tend to largely share tastes.
So if one of them finds a cute shirt in the right size, in a matter of hours there's ten thousand orders for shirts exactly like it. Or if they do the economically rational thing and pool their resources to get a bulk discount, one order for ten thousand.

You know, the kind of thing which is statistically notable and maybe a bit suspicious.

Hmm... Well, if it's for Touma, one SISTER might try one style and another has another style, like the one that started dieting in an attempt at getting a better shot.

Academy City hair growth serum to grow hair for that super-long Index look!

Maybe trying Amazon for the "Battle Couple" attempt?

Hormones are complicated. Especially when you're a vat clone who's been programmed to suppress emotional responses, but whose physiology is nearly identical to a normal teenage girl.

... hell, normal humans have problems with them and they've got much longer to prepare and deal with things.

With the distribution of ten thousand sisters over the world, there's a statistical certainty that at least some small part of the network is or has been at some point, in the Nile.
 
The cat costume Miza works at an amusement park as the mascot.

She calls herself Misanya, and confuses the rest as she acts in character most of the time. She is also the clone programed to act like a catgirl cause males.

The original is a tad annoyed of all the pics of herself cosplaying as different anime catgirls.
 
Given the earlier talk of the networks susceptibility to attack, propensity towards cute things and the internets obsession with cats, it is probably a safety valve to avoid having the whole network wake up one day obsessed with cheezeburger.

Misaka × Catmeme (I fits I sits) + cardboard box. Has to be a picture somewhat like that. Search found. "Eh, nothing great. Wait. Of course."

So now I am stuck wondering what Yui and her dormmates think of the Tactical Espionage Action Genre.
