Again, ES has said repeatedly that such discussion is not welcome in his threads when they grow to this amount of natter. Do you want him to (request a) lock the thread in the time between when chapters are posted (I forget if OPs can decide to lock a thread they created themselves on this board, or need to request a mod do so)? Because, as I said above, he's done that before (I forget whether it was during the period of when he was the CW mod on SB, or before that) when the natter in thread repeatedly angered him enough despite asking for it to stop. I would rather that not happen here, so just drop it at the request of the author and those that know him, please?

Or take the discussion elsewhere, like the Raildex fanfic thread as posted above. Just don't have it here where you continue to displease the author.

As I said above, Aleph is a frequent enough collaborator with ES (pretty much one of the only collaborators that he constantly has back and forth with) that I expect her to be able to speak with authority in his stead, even if she isn't doing it as a mod. Again, stop digging yourself into a bigger hole. She might not be acting as a mod in this case, but she can and will if you keep going on like this. Just drop it, understand and accept that ES doesn't like this shit in his threads, and move the fuck on.

The author is welcome to do whatever they want. In fact, I would fully support the right of a thread starter to have the option of locking a thread between their own posts. I've wanted to do the same from time to time in my own fiction, both original and derivative. However, I have never claimed the right to tell people to shut up in my fic threads, nor have I ever threatened to take my ball and go home because other people won't do what I say.

Aleph gave a perfectly reasoned argument pointing out why you were talking out of your arse with your fapping over min-maxing. You tell her to shut up. You didn't engage with her points. Or do anything worthwhile.

enough @Farmerbob1, your derail of the thread, despite the OP and author requesting it stop, is a breach of III.15.4 (Posting anything in a thread in which it does not properly belong that might cause a disruption of that thread) Your insulting of ES and Aleph is a breach of III.15.5 (Posting personal attacks or ad hominem arguments which go beyond the level of what might reasonably be expressed in frustration in the course of a debate).

You are receiving 25 points and a threadban of one week. If you continue this behaviour, I will make it a permanent threadban.

Well, no. The most irritating part about this conversation is the conversation it derailed from, which bore relevance to the story only in the most general sense; a discussion on how characters might best kill others bears little relevance to what the story is actually about, and reeks more of people wanting to post about elaborate murder fantasies than anything.

But the fact it no longer pertains to the story is certainly a close second.

Farmerbob, you were doing a fine job articulating your points, but telling a mod to shut up never ends well. This is just going to spiral down into name-calling (more than it already is, I mean) on all parties.

And since it would be tricky for ES to leave (it being his thread), please stop the impending pages-long argument by bowing out. You have the power.

Well, he no longer does, what with @horngeek doing a mod intervention above there, which was a welcome relief. Though I will say that I miss the "INTERRUPT" style mod actions that were made popular on SB, and how ES and Hollewander would do things like that with their trademark visual flair, though I guess mod warning boxes are cool too and catch the eye about the same as those kinda things.

Let's just hope this thread goes back to normal (or what passes for normal here), and wait until the next chapter, which we all know is coming and will be worth the wait... Just hope this thing hasn't pissed you off enough to put you off your muse, ES. Or moved some of your other fics higher up in priority for updates as a consequence, not that something like that wouldn't be unwelcome in the case of some of your fics awaiting updates...

Okay, here's a question: what are the chances that the roommates don't stay put like they were asked to and end up having to be rescued (since Sumiko's power is useless and Kyoko is too nice to risk hurting someone), probably by Touma?

With the end result, since this is Raildex, that one them (probably Sumiko) develops a massive crush on him, to the mutual incomprehension of all of her roommates?

I have to ask, would a pink-tinged picture of a giant man in a loincloth with his hands framing his junk really have improved the situation in this thread?

I'm rather glad those days are behind us.
 
You know, if Abe Eiko knew that Yui had a concealed F2000-R with her and successfully kept her knowledge of this hidden all this time, what else does she know? One of Yui's secrets has been compromised. It's careless of her to just conclude that Eiko doesn't know about of her other secrets from just one conversation. What if she's secretly snuck a look in this diary and is just pretending to know less than she actually does?

Is she... becoming like "normal" people who are far too naive and trusting and never consider potential avenues of assassination when they make a trip to the local ice cream store because they're far too careless when it comes to their own safety? *gasp*

I dunno, I rather thought that they were funny the first couple times I saw them used. Hollewander's space fish thingies always stood out to me, and let us all know that the wrath of Mod was coming for something in thread. And ES's evil mineral thing always looked freakishly cool... Havocfett's JoJos were always funny as well. I remember Isil'zha's use of Jehuty from time to time, and those always made people take notice.

Also, possibly helldump-y, but I'm pretty sure FarmerBob doesn't intend to let this go, and we'll see him again here sooner or later after his threadban expires... Looks like he's working up an appeal, and according to something he left on @Alhazred23's profile page. Go see for yourself if interested, he says that ES is acting like a prima donna and that he and Aleph sucked in the mod team into taking their side or something like that...
More drama ahoy! Can't wait until this thread just goes back to discussing the next chapter of this story, as well written as it is...

I think Yui other roommates may feel a bit left out and drama ensues. Or a more Shoujo Manga like misunderstanding happens.
 
I assume Kyoko and Sumi will be considering Yui and Eiko to be badass action heroes. Let's see how long Eiko can milk this situation with Sumi gritting her teeth and reminding herself Eiko may have saved her life.
 
Well, I feel like a bit of a derp for reporting a post after the fact, because I'm apparently thick or something.

The thing that bugged me about the 'shoot through walls' thing was, even after I explained why that doesn't work, somehow, he had to rewrite reality itself, just to push his scenario.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to the next entries. I mean... did she take the journal with her as she went? Or leave it behind to save weight? 'cause so far the only people who have read the entries have been the Misakas and the original. So far none of her peers have had a chance at it. Dunno what's coming up next, and that's fun. This is a slice of life of someone's no good very bad day and they just think it's normal for life to be like that. If that makes any sense.
