[X] Help Yamato keep his promise. You've got two more people to meet. Let's g-INTERRUPT!.
What now?
You're name is Yamato Nagai, and your brother just informed you that he won't be able to assist you with the final student.

Which, after Hayato explained the context behind the situation, you were not surprised about in the slightest. Your brother choosing to take on such heavy responsibility despite the inherent difficulty of the task matches up with his personality. You would've been more surprised if he had chosen the sensible option of allowing others to handle the three other Martial Arts while he focuses on his specialty.
Ah, doing that had this negative effect as well.
"It is no trouble. However, I will admit I do wish you would stop taking on task that require such large time investments. I do not wish to see you spreading yourself too thin and being crushed under the weight of your responsibilities."
Indeed. Well, after the tournament is over we can return to other obligations.
"And I have no doubt your skills will be valuable in our endeavors. Thus I give you my thanks in advance, Yameko," you bow to your Partner who giggles at your gratitude. She then moves closer to you, grabs your arm, and begins leaning her head against your shoulder. You make no moves to stop her. She has made a habit of doing this ever since the two of you Bonded. When you asked her for a reason why, she said something about liking the way you "smelled".
Curse you, emotional dampening leading to denseness!!!
The disguised ktsune remains calm under the piercing stare of the newcomer's sharp black eyes.
Kitsune.
"Mitsuhide Furai," the boy gives a light bow as he introduces himself, "And yes, I do know of the three of you. Specifically, how you and Munagi Rishi have been investigating students who happen to be linked to the incident that occurred two weeks ago."
The student council president makes his appearance.
Only you, Naga Yamato,"
Nagai.
To his credit though, if Mitsuhide sees these threatening actions, he is not effected by them in the slightest. He proceeds to answer Hayato's question, "I will admit, you make a good point. Which is why I took the liberty of convincing Nokai to rescind any plans to affect the trial when it arrives. I even took the time to have him put it in writing. Here you are."
Well, that's good.
Also, here's a little something extra:
Heh, funny to see the negaverse reactions.

but I don't exactly like the idea of my brother going off with some stranger he just meant
"met"
...a letter to prove one's words? In the age of smartphones and video conferences? Someone is old-fashioned.

It doesn't have any binding powers, so normally I would not rate it highly as the means of getting anyone to trust you, but the very style in which the message was delivered makes me less likely to question the sincerety of the intent behind it. Which, ironically, makes me question the intent itself. What's so important that Mitsuhide went out of his way to call off the petty retaliation, whose interests he represents, and what do these people want from our brother?

(and why aren't they interested in us in the slightest? I almost feel slighted!! :p )

You are still uncertain as to what she means by this. As, while you practice good hygiene, there is little you do to make yourself appeal to the olfactory senses of others. Hmm, perhaps you should experiment with different types of shampoo to see if that makes a difference?
Go on...
ObserverOfThreads: Of course our brother is going to try to solo a tournament.
We are not apologizing.
CheeseWheels: What did we expect? He's the big muscle. Not big brain.
The fuck you think we've been doing these last weeks, you little shits!

Shame we didn't get a better insight of his emotional spectrum, but this was more than I expected anyway.

Week 8
"I don't trust him."

"Neither do I."

"I am in agreement with Lord Hayato and the fox."

Yamato's eyes circle the room to meet each of your worried stares. Well, you and Yameko's worried stares. Yato just kind of...exudes a sense of concern you guess? Either way, he shrugs at the three of you, "I understand your concerns, but I see no logical reason to not go to the meeting."

"Other than he could be lying?" you start counting off on your fingers, "We don't really know who he is, he knows about Agano, he wants to meet you without anyone else there to back you up, and he's just plain sketchy!"

"While your initial points were valid, Hayato, the rest began to dip into paranoia."

"And while I would usually agree with you, Yamato-sama, I afraid I-"

Yamato places a hand on Yameko's shoulder. The tension in her body leaves her almost immediately. He gives her a comforting squeeze and whispers something into her ear that seems to placate her. He turns back to you and says, "Brother, I am going to the meeting. I promise you I will be fine. Please, trust me."

Now, this is the point where you're probably supposed to tell your brother how stupid this all is. Be the voice of reason for once instead of him. But...

[Bond: Blood Ties]

...you can't.

You throw your hands in the air, "Alright, fine. But the moment something goes wrong, don't be afraid to call me. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, I'll come running."

"I know, Hayato. And thank you."

[Week 8: Classes have Started Back!]
[Time Until Tournament: 3 Weeks]
[Time Until Midterms: 2 Weeks]

Current AP: 4
Pick Four Skills to Train.
Skills with (+) gain 15 a week.
Skills with (-) gain 5 a week,
Skills with neither gain 10 a week.

When Training with Someone Else:
Shared Skill Bonuses get a +10 to points gained.
Your Debuff of a Skill will get canceled out if your Training Partner has the Skill as a Bonus.
If both Skills are Normal, you both get a +1 Point Gain Bonus.
If you have a Skill at Normal, but your Partner has that same Skill at a Bonus, you get a +2 Bonus to the points gained.
If you have a Bonus to a Skill, but your Training Partner has a Debuff to that same Skill, then you don't get any extra points, but they do.

Do we know which one trains what? It might be easier on your end to cover it under a "train for the tournament action" since that's all we're gonna do until we're ready for it (unless something crazy happens).

[Time Until Midterms: 2 Weeks]

Oh shit, midterms. We're mostly ready for those, but we have a few things we need to prep for still I think. Might need to just rely on the inevitable action from our bro to cram enough that we don't fail the ones we haven't been putting time into.

Well, Perception looks like it's the next supplementary Skill to work on.

Two Weeks of AP before Mid Terms (8 Weekday AP, 8 Weekend AP), Three (an additional 4 and 4) before the Tournament.

10 AP to get 90+ in all of our relevant MAs.

2 AP with a Trainer to get Practicality up to 27 (25 with a Study Buddy) which should probably be enough to not fail, 3 AP with a Trainer to get Art to 33.

15 AP total.

We can spend this week's AP on resolving one of the three Pillars we're representing and spend the Weekend searching for Tutors, SLing Yato, hanging out with the first person to draw blood from us here, and either Training or SLing someone else.

@LinkOnScepter would a reasonable Weekend action be to seek tutoring from the school/related clubs in Art and Practicality, either aiming for an equivalent to the Library action or SLs who have those as Bonus Skills? Art's the real important one but if we can avoid draining Bro's AP for this final stretch of Studying I'd feel better about it.

[X] Plan: Chop Chop Chop
-[X] Train for the Tournament
--[X] Karate X 4

This will send us to 103 for Karate, so we'll probably Cap at 100.

"And while I would usually agree with you, Yamato-sama, I'm afraid I-"
FTFY

We trust our bro.

[X] Plan: Finishing Touches
-[X] Train with Yameko
--[X] Speech: Intimidation
--[X] Speech: Persuasion
-[X] Train with Yato
--[X] Empathy: Interests
-[X] Call up Hose and see if he wants to Train/Hang Out
--[X] MMA

Our school related skills are fine, so we don't need to worry about those atm. As for this weeks training, hear me out. Before we fully commit to raising karate and kendo, we should finish upping our Speech and Empathy skills enough to raise them all at least to 20, to get those All-20 perks in both Speech and Empathy, as well as unlock trainable perks for them, in case we want to acquire them during weekend, and these skills are always useful. With my plan, we'll end up with Intimidation 29 (since my omake grants +10 to the first skill we train), Persuasion 29, and Interest 20, thus getting us those All-20 perks. Also training MMA with Hose, since it is our most important martial art for the tournament and mundane combat. After this week, it would be at 66 points. The next two weeks, and weekends if we need to, we can fully concentrate on upping karate, kendo and MMA (also Physical Resistance, if needed).

Edit.
Also, cap for any skill is 100, unless certain events are completed.

We still have Art and Practicality to cover. Practicality is fine in the sense that it's a Normal Skill for us and Bro has it as a Bonus Skill, but Art is explicitly a Minus Skill (Culture in general is a Minus Tree) so I disagree on it being fine.

I'd like to try to do our Vision Quest with Yato on our last Weekend before the Tournament, and I'd like to have SL 4 with him before that so we jump to SL 8 and don't need to worry about Supernatural Arts not synergizing, but outside of those two AP we do have Weekend AP to spend Training, so if we're all alright with spending parts of Weekends catching up then I'm alright with at least using your omake bonus to improve Intimidation.

That's what the Random Exploration option is for. In fact, all possible Weekend Locations can unlock new SLs for you guys.

We don't need to be good in every subject, just good enough to pass school as a whole, and we don't have the AP to be good in everything, especially with the tournament coming. Also, our bro said to us previously that with our current level of Education, midterms are no issue.

As for Yato's quest, personally I think we probably should leave that after the tournament is over, but that is not set in stone.

I was thinking more, actively seeking out the Arts Department or checking in with Admin for a Tutoring Center, rather than random exploration, but if that's what we have then that's what we have.

I feel like getting 0s in two subjects out of 5 is enough to put us at risk of Failing, so I'm just going to ask @LinkOnScepter what our Bro thinks about us needing to study Art and Practicality.

You'll do well enough to stay in the school as is, cause you're basically guranteed to get good grades on your English, History, and Math Midterms. Art and Practicality aren't needed unless you want to excel at everything.

[X] Plan: Chop Chop Chop

Going with this because I'd like to get a MA to 100> now that we have the chance.

I do find it funny how smart we actually are in reality to what people likely imagine of us. Sure our brother helped us reach this point, but we're still no slouch at all

Excellent.

By the way it was described, Hayato has an excellent memory to remember all the details, which fits.
Going with this because I'd like to get a MA to 100> now that we have the chance.
We have multiple MAs, some we will not be using outside the tournament, since MMA is our primary mundane martial art and doesn't work together with the other two, unlike simpler MAs like Street Fighting.

Huh. In that case I'm fine with shoring up our Social skills before diving into Martial Arts. Two more All-20s will likely help with a broad amount of situations.

[X] Plan: Finishing Touches

Hey, maybe we'll get lucky and get/unlock a perk that gives us more AP!
...
...
...
Stop laughing!!! :V

Based on the patterns we're seeing, I don't think any All Perk will provide us with AP, though I suspect that there are still several Skills that have an AP Perk or more within them. Tactics, Perception: Environment, Invention, Barter, and Evasion are my primary suspects.

Once we get our Tournament Skills out of the way, I wouldn't be opposed to spending half our AP working on Resistance/UM and the other half pushing up all not Minus Skills to All 20.
