Week 5 Event: Meeting Hiroko and Agano
"Wait, what?"

You slap Hose's back while marching towards the gym, "I need to get going. Got something important to do. You're in charge while I'm gone."

"Woah, hold on," Hose grabs your shoulder and turns you around, "You can't just leave. Not when we're about to win."

"Yeah, what gives Nagai?" Ritsuko narrows her eyes at you while frowning with annoyance, "Don't tell me you're actually the type that doesn't finish what they started?"

You shake your head then hold your phone, "I just got a message that says someone found the leader of Kirin High. If I beat them then drag them back here, this can all end much sooner."

"Then let us come with! We'll take him down together!" Ritsuko steps forward but you hold out a hand to stop her.

"No. Someone needs to be here to lead this squad to victory while I'm gone. And I think Hose's the best option. You're both a senior at our Club and a student of Raijin. You're best suited to finishing this. No offense, Ritsuko."

The two of them stare you down, doubt, anger, and confusion clear in their gazes. You reply with a simple smile and puffing your chest out confidently, "Don't worry about me, guys. I'll be fine. I'll be back before you know it."

"...Alright, Nagai," Ritsuko jerks her head over to Hose in surprise. Your senior nods and gives you a thumbs up, "I'll take over here. But you gotta promise to come back in one piece. I still owe you for helping me out, and I can't pay back that debt if you end up dead."

"Come on, have a little faith in me," you return Hose's thumbs-up, then turn to Ritsuko to wait for her answer.

She stares you two down before throwing up her hands, "Urggghhh! Fine then, get going! We'll have this shit finished by the time you get back."

"Thank you, Ritsuko-san," you're heading towards the gym before she can respond, rushing off into the distance while punching your way through any Kirin students that try to stop you.

As Hayato Nagai rushes away to his own battle, Ritsuko Satoshi turns to the MMA Club Sensei. She asks him, "So, you buying what he said?"

[Hayato Trickery: 3/15: Fail!]

"Not completely," Hose shakes his head, "In all likelihood, he did mean what he said about needing to go alone. But I don't think he told us the whole reasoning behind it."

"What makes you say that?"

"I haven't known him long, but Hayato doesn't strike me as someone who would lie. And if he did, he'd probably have a damn good reason for it. Or at least, he'd better after leaving us with this mess."

The Club Senior waves a hand at the fight still raging around them. Ritsuko placed her hands on her hips, nodding her head while following his hand with her eyes, "I can see that, yeah."

The two went silent for a moment.

"Welp, ready to end this?"

Hose smiled then turned towards the group of Raijin students waiting for orders. He yelled out, "Alright everyone, listen up! This is your kohai, Kohei Hose! Follow me and let's get these bastards out of our school!"

A cheer went up as the newly formed counter-force prepared for its big attack.

Before long you're out of the main skirmish and into the rest of the school grounds. While you can still hear the sounds of combat, most of it looks to be confined to the main schoolyard. Guess that should tell you how good the Martial Artists here are.

"Be on guard, Lord Hayato," Yato speaks up as the gym building comes into view, "The Kumiho has been silent for weeks, and now chooses to make her presence known. It would not surprise me if she is connected with these events."

"We'll find out soon enough. Be ready in case we end up in a fight."

"Understood, my Lord."

You keep running until the entrance to the gym comes into sight. You only spot the two people standing in front of the open entrance, three Raijin students kneeling in front of them in the grass. You stop once you're close enough to make out details.

The students on the ground are three girls, all with black hair but different highlights. One had red, another green, and the last pink. They seemed to be "out of it" for lack of a better word. They don't react when you arrive, simply keep kneeling while screaming in fear every now and then.

But it was the two people standing in front of the entrance that caught your attention.

The first was likely Hiroko. Not only could you tell based on the tails, but the look of familiarity she gave you when she realized you were standing there. She stepped forward a bit, hand on her hip, and a finger to her lips as she spoke, "Well, well now. If it isn't my 'Hero'. What, pray tell, brings you here?"

Her voice threatened to seep its way into your mind, but her appearance didn't change. Either she hadn't put you under an illusion, yet, or Yato was helping you defend your mind. You stood up straight and did your best to appear non-threatening as you spoke, "I came looking for you and the one behind this attack, Hiroko."

Her eyes widen in surprise as you say her name, but she doesn't lose her cool. Her tails wrap around her torso while she tilts her head the other way, "Is that so?"

"You know him, Hiroko," the other person finally speaks up and...

[Empathy Check: 33 (Motives) + 35 (Feelings) + 10 (Yato Feelings) = 78/45: Sucsess!]

...Who hurt this girl?

She steps forward with her head angled towards the ground from being beaten down by something. Her eyes are empty and doll-like, watching you with a mixture of disgust and mistrust. In her right hand is a knife that she grips with all her might. Her pink hair falls around her face in an unkempt mess as she steps up to Hiroko's side.

"Not exactly, Agano-sama," the Kumiho replies, "We ran into each other about a month ago. He helped me hide from someone who was after me, though he did it inadvertently."

"Then he's not one of those who hurt you?" Agano points her knife towards the three students on the ground.

Hiroko looks at them with a disgusted frown before shaking her head, "No, he is not."

Agano is silent for a bit before point her knife towards you and speaking in a deadpan voice, "Hey, you. Get outta here. Whether you go to this school or not, you helped out Hiroko. So, I'm giving this one chance to leave before you get hurt."

She waves her knife in the direction of the school gate but you stand your ground. You take a step forward and say, "Can I ask you something? Are you the leader of this raid?"

"What would you do if I was?" she turns her body away from you, only letting her right arm face towards your direction. A way to keep her vitals out of easy reach. Means she's experienced.

You narrow your eyes and turn them to Hiroko, trying to see if you can guess either her emotions or what she's thinking right now...

[Empathy Check: 33 (Motives) + 35 (Feelings) + 10 (Yato Feelings) = 68/60: Success!]

[Evasion Check: Trickery: 3 = 3/60 = Fail!]

What you can tell is that she's actually surprised to see you, surprised to see that you know her name, and confused at what brought you here. One thing you could tell was that she loathed those three girls. The look she gave them was one of utter contempt. You don't know what happened between the four of them, but you can tell it wasn't pleasant.

Agano, on the other hand, is the exact opposite.

Hiroko stands right next to the girl, one of her tails every now and then stroking the shorter girl's head. They mean something to each other, but you're not sure what. She's likely waiting for your answer to Agano before she makes her own judgment right now.

You think carefully about what you're going to say before speaking.

[] Tell them they need to stop, because what they're doing is wrong and hurting others. (Bad Idea: Will likely lead to Combat)

[] Ask what the two of them did to the three girls, and to let them go. (Bad Idea: WILL lead to Combat)

[] Try to convince them to stand down, name dropping Yameko to smooth negotiations.

[] Say that you're here to stop them. Your fist will tell you everything you need to know. (Begins Combat)

[] Write-in...

Fun Facts about the Images:

1. That wasn't the original image for Hiroko. I had another, but for some reason could find it again and forgot to save the original one.

2. Yep. That's Agano's image. She's an Outcast Class FYI.

The thing about convincing them to stand down using Yameko as the excuse is that even if that stops Hiroko it might backfire with Agano; the girl has clear problems with isolation and abuse.

The ideal situation would be to convince Agano first and Hiroko second, but I can't think of a good write-in for that. Maybe something generic like

[X] Try to convince them to stand down, focus on Agano first, mention Yameko only if thing are about to escalate.

Is this valid, @LinkOnScepter ?

It is.

Out of the way!!!

Heh, being a shitty liar fits our character.

Caught in illusion, it seems.

...Oh no. Seems like bullying case.

This turned out to be a bigger mess than expected.

Hmm... looks like they have a personal beef with Raijin Academy. My guess is the girls they've trapped are Raijin students connected to them in a negative fashion. The girls either hurt, helped hurt, or are connected with those who hurt, Yameko and Hiroko.
Welp, looks like Hiroko possibly already bonded with this girl. Now it's more of a problem if we end up in a fight.
That's an interesting thought. Maybe these girls hurt Agano, and this is her form of revenge?

What I see here is one of those "The Bullied gets a power, decides to go ham on the harassed" situation. I might be wrong, but there's no harm on deescalating things

I just like this option. It's straightforward and to the point.

This your kohai, Kohei Hose!
"This is", and... is he really a kohai? I forgot what class he is in, but how can he be a senior MMA student while only being a first-year?
Agano, on the other hand, is the exact opposite.

She stands right next to the girl
Since Agano was the last person mentioned, the "she" could be mistaken as referring to her, which is why I was surprised at the mention of tails.

How is combat a bad idea?

[x] Say that you're here to stop them. Your fist will tell you everything you need to know. (Begins Combat)

Just so your vote isn't counted twice, I'd suggest deleting this one and then editing this into your previous vote.
The tally only picks up the latest vote.
