[X] Plan: Relaxing Is Training Right?
-[X] Train with Yamato
--[X] Supernatural: Persons of Interest (The Who)
---[X] This is blatantly a cover to hang out and watch anime with our Bro.
-[X] Train with Yato
--[X] Resistance: Spiritual
---[X] Heart to Heart, Spirit to Spirit, it looks like we need to have a chat with Yato about what all that was.
-[X] Call up Hose and see if he wants to Train/Hang Out
--[X] Perception: Environment
---[X] This is blatantly a cover for taking a walk and giving Hose the opportunity to bring up whatever Sensei stopped him from talking about when we just got back.

Sorry, vote is closed. Wisdom and Charisma won.

Alright, I decided to do an omake about my favorite bakeneko (creation bias after all). I already discussed it with Link so he said it was okay to put up.

Also, expect grammar errors.:p

The Machinations of a Shut-in Cat

You're name is Kazama Yuki, a Bakeneko who was living in a secret lair inside Kirin High, a place that you and anyone else would agree to be a cesspool filled with the loudest, dumbest, most violent children in Japan.

You had a very comfy life inside your little spot you called home. Unfortunately for you, anonimity was an advantage you lost a little bit over a week ago when two boys from Raijin and the arrogant kumiho found you. Luckily for you, they were just nice fellas (with the exception of that irritating canine!).

However, ever since then your mind and emotions were constantly spinning and you felt your chest hurt whenever you thought about that boy, Yamato.

You just couldn't help it! You finally found someone smart enough to keep up with you! Talking to him was a breath of fresh air. A true delight! You actually met someone you wanted to hang out with, even if it meant leaving your precious home for a few good hours and risking the eyes of the organization spotting you.

Well, you'd have to be extra careful to make sure the latter doesn't happen.

Of course, the only downside is that the kumiho knows where you are and the two of you made it clear that you don't like each other. How dare she suggest that you didn't care for your fellow Yokai and monsters?! The gall of that woman!
You also weren't going to forget how she drooled over seeing Pon-Pon, Momo and Sacho. Yeah, you saw that and you weren't letting her near them out for fear that she would eat them out of spite.

Whatever, you weren't going to spend your entire day being angry over a woman who didn't deserve your attention. You had plenty to do otherwise.

You learned from your encounter with Yamato's... not-so-stupid brute of a brother? (was that a good way to refer to him?) You now knew that you needed to improve your skills both with illusion and fighting, if worst comes to worst.

You're illusions were good, but apparently not good enough. While that brute Hayato was nice, she had to be prepared in case the Organization found her. She couldn't afford to rely on luck.

Your skills at hand-to-hand combat were... never the best, even when you were younger and surrounded by your kin. Now, while you remembered the moves, were far too eroded. That definitely needed some fixing.

But all of that was far too time consuming and needed you to go outside, so you could only think of how to integrate it into your daily routine. At the moment you could just work on getting a bit more extra cash for now.

As you went on your laptop, you decided to surf a little bit online. It only took you about 10 minutes before something caught your eye: an article about an incident in some school martial arts tournament which occured a day or two ago.
You skimmed it until the name Raijin popped up, causing your eyes to widen slightly. This made you go back and start reading it carefully.

From what you could tell, something happened during the semifinal, but with the lack of information on what happened and no real agreement between eye witnesses was a certain indicator for the nature of the event being supernatural.

You're certain that the Organization were having their claws over any bit of information they might've gotten, and no doubt that that boy, Hayato was in the middle of all this.

Well, if this wasn't a reason to call Yamato to talk to him, then what was? You were certainly happy that the two brothers called you so that you saved their numbers into your phone.

You listened to the phone ringing as you noticed your tail moving from side to side. Why were there so many feelings running in your chest?!

"Hello, Kazama-san." you heard his voice, making you hitch your breath for a second.

What were you doing?! You weren't some love-struck teenage girl, so you just needed to calm down and get a grip.

"Hello. I saw an article about something related to some martial arts tournament Raijin was a part of?" you said with you impassive and emotionless mask, allowing yourself to settle down and push down any excitement. "I assume the event involved a supernatural entity?"

"Ah, yes. It was quite the troublesome event, and Hayato got badly hurt." he explained as he started to tell you everything that happened before and during the event itself. The fact that an Oni decided to pop out of someone's arm wasn't surprising, but it sicked and infuriated you nonetheless.

He also told you about his two senpai, and you definitely heard about the girl he referred to as "Estelle-senpai". Only someone living under a rock wouldn't have heard of her, despite her being a recluse. But the fact that she probably had a supernatural partner and helped Yamato during the whole thing was a surprise.

"So now your saying that she wants to meet with you and every supernatural being you've met or any allies that you've made beforehand?" you inquired.

"Indeed. While I believe it would be benefitial to you if you attended, I do not wish to force this on you. If you wish not to come, then I'll accept it." he told you with his own impassive tone, but you felt the sincerity in his voice.

Well... you didn't know how they could benefit from you being there, but you could benefit quite a bit on the Organization's moves within Raijin.

"Why should I trust them. It sounds rather suspicious to me." you told him as you brought up a very good point.

"You're not wrong not to. Though Hayato is willing to trust them, and I trust Hayato. Also, I'm certain that the bodyguard, Irina, is a supernatural creature herself, though I don't know which. If I'm right, then Estelle-senpai would do what it takes to protect her, which means going against the Organization. If that's the case, then they deserve some degree of trust... or at least giving them the benefit of the doubt."

As you listened to his explanation, you couldn't help but to agree with him. You simply sighed silently before answering. "Alright, I'm willing to come. Just know that I'm not commiting to anything more than that."

"Understandable."

It was then that you skimmed at the article again and the word "Tournament" popped up right in front of your lazy gaze that an idea quickly came to mind.

"Hey, Yamato-san?"

"What is it?" he asked.

"I remembered that you also have a tournament as well, right? A chess tournament?" you asked him, waiting for an answer.

"I do, in fact? Why the inquiery?" he asked, curiosity barely noticeable in his voice.

You scratched your chin lightly. "Well, I thought maybe you would want an outsider's opinion regarding your strategies? I'm more of a Shogi person myself, but I learned enough about chess that I know how to play it. In addition, you said you're not well versed in creating a plan before a situation becomes a problem. I believe that I can be skilled enough to aid you with that."

You waited for a few seconds for his response, scratching faster and faster as your ears catching the cats' hungry cries. You needed to feed them soon.

"You make excellent points, Kazama-san. Very well, I accept." that was all you needed to hear to pump your fist in celebration. Then next few minutes passed as the two of you simply talking about setting this new arrangement before ending the call.

As you finished the call you stretched and yawned before feeding your beloved little family.

"Pon-Pon, Momo, Sacho, I might finally make a new friend." you told them with a smile on your face while they were focused on eating.

[Meanwhile in the Nagai household]

As Yamato ended the call, he returned to doing what he was working on before the bakeneko called.

"Hey, bro, what'cha doing?" Hayato asked as he passed by, still wincing from the pain from the injuries that he had suffered.

Yamato turned to look at his brother. "You shouldn't be moving yet, Hayato."

"Come on, you know better than anyone else that I can't just stay still." Hayato said with a grin.

The more stoic Nagai brother sighed. "I suppose so. In other news, I managed to convince Kazama Yuki to come to the meeting." he informed the older of the two.

"Huh, really?"

"Yes, she called and asked about the event at the tournament. I simply informed her of everything that happened and about the incoming meeting." he said with his usual impassive tone.

"Wait, she called you?" the injured Nagai brother asked, to which he only got a nod. This simply caused Hayato's grin to widen. "Bro, you sly dog." he said as he moved towards the left room, leaving Yamato perplexed as he tilted his head and blinked.

XXX

And that's all, folks. A fun little omake for everyone to enjoy (mostly me though).

So what did you think?

Almost forgot to do this.

OMAKE ACCEPTED AND MADE CANON!

Kazama Yuki will be at the Meeting! Kazama and Yamato RP increased by 2!

Man, this meeting is going to be something. First Hayato is going to Keishi and Aina to hang out (and invite them to the meeting of course), then there's the meeting itself that will not only have fun interactions (such as Yameko is likely to show her closeness to Yamato and rub it in Kazama's face), which will probably end with Aina giving Keishi the snuggles of all snuggles.

Can't wait.:D

Excuse me, I'm currently trying to do research for an Omake I'm trying to make for this quest. But I have yet to know the answer.

What is Yameko's disguised student form name? I can't seem to find it. Thank You!

I don't think I ever specifically stated it. Never really mattered that much.

Week 11.1
[X] Go meet up with Keishi and Aina
-[X] Train Empathy: Motives
-[X] Train Empathy: Feelings

"Hey, Keishi!" you wave toward your senior, yelling his name as you approach through the grass beneath. Then you feel a painful shock run through your arm and let it fall. You rub at your elbow while walking. That's gonna be annoying. You can't wait until your injuries heal up.

The shorter, brown haired boy perks up at the sound of your voice. He turns to greet you, closing the book he was reading to Aina as he does. You see her gasp and start trying to open the book again, but Keishi is quick to reassure her. You hear something about "I'll read the rest later" before scratching her near the base of her right horn. That just about turns her into putty in his hands, as she starts to mewl while trying to rub her body against his. She almost knocks him off the crate he's sitting on, but he regains his balance quick enough to not fall.

You chuckle, "Good to see you two are still getting along."

"Y-Yeah. It's been pretty-"

[Keishi Medicine: Surgery Check: 20 VS DC 10; Success]

He suddenly goes quiet as you approach. Then he frowns when you get close enough to reach out and touch him. You raise an eyebrow, "Something up?"

"You're hurt," he says, turning to Aina and nodding. The monster makes a strange sound before rushing into the warehouse that they call home. She's back a few seconds later with a First Aid Kit dangling from her mouth, while her tail is holding some gauze. She hands it over to Keishi who takes it and turns to you, "OK. Hold still I'll-"

"Woah, woah!" you hold up both of your hands to stop him in his tracks, "Hold up, I'm fine! Seriously! The nurse patched me up already. No need to wrap me up like a mummy."

"You sure? I know what to do. I've been studying up on surgery and basic medical knowledge for a bit now," Aina nods from behind him to emphasize.

But you shake your head, "Really, it's fine. I'm OK. You two can calm down."

Keishi purses his lips for a moment. Then he sighs, "Alright. If you say so. But I'm gonna hold onto this just in case. So, what did you need? It's kind of late."

He looks up at the sky to indicate the setting orange sun in the sky. You follow his gaze then shrug, "Yeah, sorry about that. I had to wait until school got out, then take the bus over here. Left as early as I could but, well, guess it wasn't early enough. Mind if we head inside? Got some stuff to talk about."

"Not at all. Come on, Aina," Keishi waves for Aina to follow, keeping the First Aid Kit close at hand. Aina nods, carrying the gauze with her as she follows the two of you. Once you're inside, you find a seat on a chair while Keishi starts walking around. He asks if you want anything to drink, but you decline on account of having had some water before you got here. You waited until him and Aina were sitting in front of you before dropping the news on them.

They...took it well.

"You fought an Oni?! Oni are real too?!" Keishi asks, clearly shocked at how nonchalantly you admitted to that. His eyes are wide and mouth is hanging open as he stares at you with disbelief. Aina, on the other hand, just tilts her head at Keishi's reaction. As if beating an Oni isn't that big a deal.

Which you guess would be true for another monster.

You scratch the back of your neck, "Yeah. It was pretty tough. Hard part was taking her down without hurting the guy she was possessing."

"But...you did manage it? Right?"

You nod, looking down at the ground, "Yeah, but...only cause Yamato helped me out. Probably wouldn't have gone down that way without him."

"Do not feel discouraged, Lord Hayato," Yato calls to you, his voice ringing in your ears, "It was your first true battle against another supernatural foe. And you did better than any other in your stead would."

"Keishi!" Aina suddenly calls, pointing at Keishi while staring at your gloved hands. Then she points at herself with her thumb while puffing her chest out, "Aina! Strong together!"

You look to Keishi for a translation. He scratches his cheek and chuckles, "Uh, well, me and Aina have been practicing a bit. She's pretty tough herself. But I don't think I'd be able to do any of what you did, Hayato. Honestly, I'm not even sure if I would've thought about doing anything."

You snap your fingers and point at him, "Bullshit. Any guy who's willing to stand up to a gang of bullies isn't the kind of guy that would back down from helping a dude like that. I should know. I did that...well...something like it to protect Yamato anyway."

"Lord Hayato is correct. Do not sell yourself short, young man. Not until you have actually been in such a situation," Yato backs you up.

"Keishi! Brave!" Aina finishes off by jumping at Keishi and pulling him into a hug. Hmm, she's learned quite a few new words since you last saw her. Getting better by the week, huh?

Keishi starts blushing while Aina rubs her cheek against his. His voice sounds embarrassed when he speaks again, "Th-Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. So, what else did you want to talk about?"

"Oh, right. So, there's this woman named Estella...," you give the two of them the rundown of what's gonna be happening this weekend. Keishi, for his part, seems to be interested in the idea. Points out how the warehouse could work as a good base of operations for you guys.

But Aina...well...she starts hugging Keishi tighter, "More people?"

"Aina," Keishi pats her on the head, "It'll be fine. These people want to help us. And if we help them, we can help more people like you and me."

She pouts and still doesn't seem convinced. Keishi frowns while he wracks his brain for something to say. Then looks her in the eyes and sighs, "OK. If you don't want to go, then we don't have to. Just say so and-"

"Promise..."

"Huh?"

Aina grabs Keishi under the chin with one hand while the other holds his head in place. Without missing a beat, she finishes her sentence. "Promise sweets."

Keishi blinks. His blush gets worse as he starts getting flustered. He stumbles over his words, "Uh, uh, OK? I promise to get you...sweets afterwards?"

That's apparently enough for Aina. Because she nods then lets Keishi go. She sits next to him, tail wagging with a self-satisfied smirk on her face. Keishi looks at you, sees your confused expression, then shrugs, "She likes sweet stuff. I get it sometimes when I have the money for it. Might need to splurge a bit."

"Might not need to worry about that. Estella's rich."

"Oh. Um, who is she again?"

"The owner of a Pharmaceutical Company or something."

"Oh....what?"

Empathy Motives: 33 + 25 (+15 Training +10 Keishi Bonus) = 58

You now understand that people's motives can sometimes be contradictory or irrational to an outside perspective. But totally rational and understandable to the person behind the motive!
Empathy Feelings: 35 + 25 (+15 Training + 10 Keishi Bonus) = 60

You now understand a greater range of feelings that people can have, and that surface level feelings can sometimes be used to hide deeper, true feelings!

"Hey, Keishi?"

"Yeah, Hayato?"

"How'd you get so good at reading people? I mean, I've just always been kind of in-tune other's emotions. Was it like that for you?"

"Eh, kind of. For me it was more...a survival strategy."

"Kirin?"

"Yeah. That place...you never really knew who you could trust there. Today's ally could quickly become tomorrow's enemy. Or a friend you knew might either drop out or finally leave the place for greener pastures. And that was the best case scenario. Couldn't really afford to be open with everyone or else...you'd get in with the wrong crowd. Had to learn how to read others to avoid that."

"Ah. Damn. Sorry man."

"Ah, it's fine. It's all behind me now. And besides, it helped me bond with Aina. So some good came out of it."

[+2 RP To Keishi and Aina SLs. Both at 8/3. Both will Rank Up During Weekend Action!]

Keishi and Aina get their own Update. Next will be Estella. Will try to get that out either this week or next week.

The shorter, brown haired boy perks up at the sound of your voice. He turns to greet you, closing the book he was reading to Aina as he does. That just about turns her into putty in his hands, as she starts to mewl while trying to rub her body against his. That's adorable.
Keishi is still new to this whole supernatural world business.

You tell him, Hayato and Yato.

Aina smug.
"Might not need to worry about that. Estella's rich."
Not as rich as she once was, but still filthy rich.
A real jungle to survive in.

Wohoo!

Well, now we have high levels of empathy. Next we need to work on our diplomacy and we're set on being a magnetic bro.

Also, I can only imagine Aina requesting Keishi to tell Estelle to buy those sweets.

Well, now we have high levels of empathy. Next we need to work on our diplomacy and we're set on being a magnetic bro.

Dropping two trainings into Interests with our Empathy Bro will push us past the All-50 for Empathy, so that's probably going to be our next stop.

I would really like to work on Resistance and get the All-50, and then work on pushing one of them to 100 so we can max out UMT.

I'm thinking Spiritual Resistance myself, but I'm willing to pivot if others have a preference.

Though, the big two questions for me are "How important is pushing for another All-100 and the fully unlocked Advanced Class?" and "Are people willing to drop 1 AP into Supernatural so we have the All-20?"

If we do two AP into Empathy: Interests that swings the All-50, and if we drop 1 AP into Supernatural: The Who, with the level up we're still waiting on, we'll get the All-20, which finishes all the low hanging fruit I think.

That leaves three separate approaches for our growth from there, depending on what we want.

If Social, and the Advanced Class, is the big focus, then grinding up Empathy All-100 across two turns (after next turn, assuming 2 into Interests with EmpBro and 1 into The Who) with 1 Motive and 1 Feelings with EmpBro and 1 Interests with YamBro each turn would get us there, plus help improve Yam's Empathy again as well.

The Speech All-50 is achievable within two turns, three if we want to be Efficient and spread out our training slightly, with 3 AP into Persuasion and Intimidation each, which would likely cover us for quite some time.

If Combat is our concern then we can split it into two directions, Martial Arts and Partner Arts.

Martial Arts all provide some sort of bonus to a lot of different things and MMA let's us mix and match those things, so pushing to just over 100 with Brawling and Street Fighting across two turns (2 Brawling with the Girl Bro, 1 Street Fighting with the Gym Bro, then reversed for the second turn for 101 Brawling and 106 Street Fighting) would get us a lot of different minor bonuses, and then there's the question of what we'd get for pushing all of our Super Arts to their new caps.

In the other direction, we could go for pushing UMT to past 100 and see what happens, but that would require grinding one of our Resistances to at least 100, and Partner Arts gain more and improved abilities depending on their Support Tree so we would want to push all of our Resistances as far as we can anyway, with my preference being to grab the All-50 and push Spiritual to 100 like I said above. That would require 7 AP and another level, for Resistance alone, and then three AP for UMT itself, putting us at what is probably 105 UMT (110 if we snag that extra level, 9 AP into Resistance if we don't) if I'm reading the Partner Arts conversion table correctly.

On one hand, that's 12 AP split across 4 turns with Yato and Sensei training us.

On the other, Yam pulling out a 100 point Partner Art super move saved the day, and with the investment we'd put in we'd be able to do that reliably.

Recapping all this;

Assuming next turn we go for 2 Interests and 1 Who, for the Empathy All-50 and Supernatural All-20.

Empathy All-100 and Speech All-50 are both achievable across 2 turns each for four turns total, with Maximum Efficiency In Skill Points Per AP being something like two Speech, one Motives, two Speech, one Feelings, two Speech one Interests, one each of Empathy w/ Yam Interests.

Mortal Arts All-100 (Street Fighting and Brawling) is achievable with 6AP across two turns for 3 AP each, and then there's pushing closer to our new caps proper and seeing what that gets us.

UMT 100, with Resistance All-50 and Any Resistance 100, would cost us 12 AP across 4 turns, but the massive benefits for Supernatural Combat really can't be understated as we just saw, and I expect Spiritual Resistance 100 will help tremendously in protecting ourselves from Supernatural Witchery like Oni Style Combat Cooking.

I'd personally really like to push for the UMT route myself.

You know i think a good way to explain the Nagi brothers Dinâmic is to point out how the kamen rider build and cross-z work together, trough the flip os that hayato is the idealistic one here.

Ah, so meeting up with just Estelle and Irina will take longer than expected. Man, after a month waiting for Keishi and Aina, waiting for more is gonna be torture. Then after that we have another month for the meeting.

Just like with previous turns, so many things I'm anticipating to read. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait.

It won't take a month, I can tell you that.

A quest/fic that updates even once a month is a rare luxury. Even an update a year makes me happy.

To be more precise, I recently got a new laptop that I have been using to write while I am at work. So, I can more easily write not just this Quest but my other projects as well.
