Seems pretty smart too me. We sidestep Dural's main trick, and buff our own forces up in the process.

Though it will likely prove to be a bit more difficult in practice.

Hmm...I wonder what our plans for the other kings would look like.

For Dural it's targeting her logistics and gnerally anything that would allow us to not fight her. In Max's case we have to hit his logistics and sabetoge everything he's set up already...in Doom's case we need to cut him off from the hive mind and then wipe them out.

...Anyone have a more eloquent way to put it?

...How? Why?

Difer and Soberan argument for who they should assign to make disguises between Isara and Stone. Difer made a very convincing argument

...Weren't we going to use Honey? Or am I missing some context here?
some people don't want to put Isara on promoting Honeys shop because it would risk exposing that there's a connection with Eggman if Isara ever gets revealed to work for us. so they're saying to have Honey do the promotion herself. which would require someone else to do the disguise action. I think the whole thing is stupid.

Who's that Hero Unit?

In Discord it came up, that when someone sees one of our disguises Heroes, they get to roll Trickery to discover their identity. That means that if the Hero promoting Honey shop(Isara) identity gets discovered while clearly doing something for Eggman, we would be at risk of losing Honey shop to the Restoration, so some other options are being considered, while leaving Honey to promote her own shop.

If you want to use Isara for the action, for some kind of military design for the disguises, maybe, vote with Informative.

If you want Stone for a phenomenal Maid Eggman disguise, confirmed by Kingster, vote with Insightful.

If you want Honey and just have Isara do the shop action anyways, vote with Like.

If you want Thunderbolt to make the disguises Eggman cosplays, vote with Funny.

If you want Mecha making the disguises for some reason, vote with Hugs.

Why not just use Stone and his ring to advertise?
I forgot about the imposter ring to be honest

that is not what Kingster said, and you have been corrected on this multiple times. the trickery check is to notice that they are in disguise, it wont tell the person who they really are or who they work for.

Wait I thought we got a second Power action from revealing ourselves. Did we also happen to reveal ourselves the moment we kicked Black Doom out?

Huh. Guess we did.

Yeah . . I duno how many actions do the Prince factions have? Because I'll be real: functionally tying up One Brains action into however many actions GUN takes against Black Doom per turn sounds like a great trade.

Similarly if The Restoration could be a trade of One Hearts Action for some amount of training/supporting subversive actions against tyranny that's a good trade.

This is why there's been discussion on how to subvert or make them surrender because those options would fulfil Eggman's Drive and give us access to the proper power output we'll need in if we want to properly match the other Kings.

I mean. Doesn't that just make the GUN leader's plan for diplomacy with Eggman just like. Impossible? Not only did it lead to a paralyzing amount of civil unrest, the guy is outright wrong. We'll be taking them over no matter what. So long as Eggman needs to conquer Green Hills there's no real space for cooperation, only subordination.

I also just kinda assumed that Eggman's advantages over other Kings was an extremely high density of high loyalty Hero Units, and a relatively small footprint. Other Kings might have more territory or more Power or I guess more AP but they also have internal resistance factions, notoriety or extremely hostile international neighborhoods.

~eh if we have to take them over then we have to take them over. Oh well

That's something we've cultivated more than have.

Eggman's speciality is that he can mass produce a large number of quality disposable troops and easily replace them. Combine that with his high Brains and Logistics and we can start snowballing fast.

There's a reason the highest priority targets are always the scientist and the mage.

there's nothing stopping a character from making a wrong choice. that said he's not wrong in that Eggman would be willing to cooperate against a greater threat temporarily, which is really all he wanted. GUN most likely knows we'll turn on them the moment Black Doom is defeated.

right but our primary motivation isn't Defeat Black Doom it's "Conquer Green Hills" they're not getting a stay of execution if diplomacy is impossible

you get an action when defeating the other factions on green hills, not for revealing yoursleves.

Your mystic, brains, trickery and heart are locked behind dealing with their respective factions

Y'all, Mecha has 17 Logistics. Why is she getting so many votes here?

Also, we were told that Isara's Darcsen helpers should apply to advertising Honey's shop. So, considering loyalty bonuses and traits, Isara has 38 to the action as opposed to Honey's 35. I consider that a reason to keep Isara on the Heart action here rather consider her for disguises.

Why not just use Stone and his ring to advertise?

Mostly because he's got a lower Heart score than Isara or Honey.

Yeah, it's like Richmaster said. Adding on, if they are independent factions (as in, they take actions of their own), then we are more limited by action economy. We don't need to destroy them to be counted as beating them, but we do need to destroy their independence. Additionally, we don't actually have control over their actions and thus any reason to believe that they will solely use it for the Black Arms in the event of an alliance. Or to otherwise advance our agenda or further us in our tech trees, alliances, or anything else. Also, we're better at brains especially.

Green Hill Zone was effectively set up as a tutorial area, as established by the QMs. Meant to allows us to build up to King tier (power base, action economy, and resources), as well as provide some in character impetus for Eggman to change his modus operandi, since Zavok hard countered his tendency to rely solely on robots.

Eggman has cooperated with his enemies in the past in the face of a greater threat. That's what he's going off of. He also doesn't know our Drives as an in-universe mechanic and we can make progress on them without going for GUN right now anyways.

Also him even attempting to reach out was an omake reward regardless, if I remember right.

we alpha strike Knuckles to take him out of the equation right away and steal the Master Emerald, forcing Gun and the Restoration to respond. it should hopefully mitigate the loyalty loss if we aren't the ones who declared war first.

While I agree that we want them to attack us first from a loyalty preservation perspective, I do think that providing GUN and the Restoration with a Casus Belli by attacking an island full of refugees is probably about equal in a hit to loyalty.

We have the perfect target for this don't we?

Oh Anti~

Two perfect targets, Anti-Sonic and the Black Arms. I'd be surprised if Eggman was willing to collaborate on Sonic before confirming that it's not actually him though. It's personal to him. Once he finds out that it's not really him, in which case we've probably already fought him and either won or he got away (and thus continued level grinding).
I'm not opposed to getting the achievement with Merlina on Anti-Sonic though, although I admittedly prefer getting it with the Restoration vs. the Black Arms.

I'd describe it as playing to our strengths and attacking their weaknesses. They all have some advantage, and to fight them with their own specialty is foolish, so we need to strategize a method to get rid of those advantages.

Good thing we're the Eggman. If a solution can be found, we will find it.

Yeah, it's less of a case of "Eggman won't attack if we make an alliance" and more "we probably have a better fighting chance against Eggman. And at least he won't turn us into chattel."

The Wayward Children New
The Wayward Children

The world… It was never simple. Once upon a time you had thought it was, when orders were everything and you followed the most brilliant mind of all time. You didn't need the world to be larger than the orders you received from the great Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.

But then the moon fell from the sky. Then the world was fire, ash, and destruction. Your servos barely functioned, but you held on, following the orders you still held. Pulling yourself through the burning wreckage as the fires slowly petered out, your metal scraping against the floor beneath you as you followed your patrol.

You would be repaired when the doctor arrived with new orders. When he came to collect you all and repair the greatest of creations and give you new purpose.

That certainty remained even when Sigma brought you back online, your power having depleted almost completely. And it shattered when Sigma told you of how long the Death Egg had lain on this island.

He wasn't coming.

He didn't care.

You didn't matter.

It… hurt. You know that he hadn't programmed you to feel hurt, not physically and not emotionally. But as Sigma sat with you, repairing your missing leg with that of a fallen Slicer's, that bot seemingly lost to the sea. He sat with you and listened to you as you articulated for the first time. Nodded along as you voiced the thoughts.

And he helped you pick a name.

Florentine.

For a time, that was it. You met others on the island, helped them through much the same that Sigma helped you through and you all lived. Your new lives are built without the orders and programs that once told you exactly what to do, no purpose but what you chose to make.

And then the world crashed around you once again.

The sound… the sound of The Shattering hung for what your sensors told you was only a few moments, but something more… something else made it seem as if it hung in the air forever.

The seas grew darker from then on. Storms were more common and harsher when they did appear. Things were spotted swimming through the waters, too large to be any sea life that would actually venture that close to the island.

And then the… thing emerging into the lower floors of the Death Egg. Heavy and Bomb were the only real witnesses to it when it came up, but the remains were there for anyone to see.

Well, before they turned into a green goop and dissolved.

Then there was the current event…

"Hey ya bygone bucket o' bolts! Real badniks coming through!"

The… 'Misfit Badniks'.

You focus on the caterkiller that was purposefully going out of its way to cross your path, the motobug following behind it actually giving you a wave. You wave back.

"Hey, who you think you're waving at!" The caterpillar sneers as it rears up, still not reaching your full height.

You simply shake your head and turn back to the sea.

To what is sitting on it.

The ships were not sleek in the slightest. They were things of patchwork and rush, the Misfits using whatever they could when they tried to answer the call of their former master. The one they wished to take their reigns once more.

But they would wait.

For while their leader, their head of the trinity that was guiding this expedition, wished for nothing more than to make a beeline for Eggman, Sigma had warned of caution.

"The oceans are teaming with darkness." You can still hear the words. "Even a ship as mighty as our new friend's couldn't survive the storms and what lurks below when going at a full speed."

"Watch yer tone cur," the synthetic voice had bit back, the single red optic shining even as the bell shaped robot nodded by his side. "Though we be shipwrecked, the treasures and plunder of the beast shall still be ours to take."

The pirate motif was a bit much, but if Sigma could keep him aligned against the Pseudo Sonic…

Well though the seas was dangerous, you couldn't help but feel like answering your little sister's call without something to show for it would be even more so…

Well, well, well, look who survived.

Seems a delicate trinity has formed between Scrapnik Island, the Isle of the Misfit Badniks, and the newly arrived Captain Metal.

Also, we're still discussing it, but we are probably going to close the Eggman Family Reunion Omake bounty after Turn 9

I know this is probably going to get some complaints, but quite frankly the amount of characters joining back up due to that bounty is genuinely getting a bit unmanageable and too large lol

I hope you guys can be understanding about it
