[x] Emerald Gyre of Aeons Style
[x] Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style
Tricky! I at least know
of PAoC and CMoS, while EGoA is a new one to me. I feel like the obvious utility and classic Sidereal-ness of PAoC makes it the obvious choice, but the way EGoA extends her existing style, is probably something Kejak is more uniquely qualified to instruct her in, and evidently sparked Gazetteer's imagination enough to merit inclusion here, makes it attractive too.
Rope darts and kusarigama are part of its weapone repertoire, and Grace's stunts with those was one of my favorite parts of the Wyld Hunt in Last Daughter.
Likewise.
The heart wants what it wants. And what it wants is a tragic showdown where Grace uses Spell-Shattering Palm on one of Ambraea's spells.
Undeniable.
Pattern Spider Touch is a very powerful body, fate, and mind shaping technique that can reweave a person's fate to permanently transform them into a different person, an animal, or an object.
"Grace, you've done it! By finding the Scarlet Empress again, you've averted the Realm Civil War and saved Creation! How did you do it? And why does she seem to spend so much more time in the baths now, makes those odd noises, and insists on traveling South for the winter?"
"Let's just say I had a stroke of...
duck." /dons artifact sunglasses
Your mind goes to stories you've heard about Houses Cathak and Ragara crucifying rebels and bandits. The Empress ruining whole prefectures in reprisal for rebellion by the house controlling them. The dark dungeons far away from the dignified beauty of palace life. You hadn't been forced to witness any of these things yourself, the faces transfixed in agony or the starving villages, but you'd known of it.
I'll be honest, Sapphiria, all that stuff is nasty of course, but turning people into living statues to endure unending torment without prospect of release still seems worse. It's probably just that atrocities achievable in real life feel less horrifying due to familiarity than fantastical ones, and no doubt the Empress wins on sheer numbers, but like... there's only so bad "we killed them painfully" can register as.
The Realm does love its artificial distinctions.
"I could, in principle, have quit" is a pretty important distinction, Sapphiria!
There is something strange about this bond, something unnatural, unholy. Hellish. There is no give to it, a sentiment horribly transfixed in amber, not a living, breathing relationship that can break or change over time... Is this why you've always been warned against Black Claw Style?
Huh, I'm curious how this works. Is the nature of the feelings organic and real, and the unnatural sense Grace gets about the bond a result of the relationship being magically preserved by Black Claw Style? Or is the rancid vibe here based on how Yasza feels all by itself, and the warning is about tying yourself to an unhealthy connection?
"Did she give herself that name, the same as we both did ours?" you ask.
"Ah yes, Awesome Johnny Big-Dick they call me. Well, I've asked them to call me. ...I call myself."
