If I had a nickle for every exalted ex-Ysyr ex-slave sorceress using Black Claw one-sidedly in love with her former owner I'd seen, I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Sapphiria is delightful, and I can't wait to see her again.

Yes, do tell.
Sapphiria is delightful, and I can't wait to see her again.
Indeed. I wouldn't mind an interlude of the next time something makes the mistake of crossing her.

[X] Emerald Gyre of Aeons Style

I love time warp shenanigans of the tactical and psychedelic kind EGOA enables, and I like the idea of Mentor Grace. EGOA just has incredible drip in general.

however, as it was my first love among SMAs and I do like the idea of seeing it change Grace, I also gotta throw a symbolic vote for CMOS in.

[X] Charcoal March of Spiders Style

[x] Emerald Gyre of Aeons Style
[x] Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style

Tricky! I at least know of PAoC and CMoS, while EGoA is a new one to me. I feel like the obvious utility and classic Sidereal-ness of PAoC makes it the obvious choice, but the way EGoA extends her existing style, is probably something Kejak is more uniquely qualified to instruct her in, and evidently sparked Gazetteer's imagination enough to merit inclusion here, makes it attractive too.

Rope darts and kusarigama are part of its weapone repertoire, and Grace's stunts with those was one of my favorite parts of the Wyld Hunt in Last Daughter.
Likewise.

The heart wants what it wants. And what it wants is a tragic showdown where Grace uses Spell-Shattering Palm on one of Ambraea's spells.
Undeniable.

Pattern Spider Touch is a very powerful body, fate, and mind shaping technique that can reweave a person's fate to permanently transform them into a different person, an animal, or an object.
"Grace, you've done it! By finding the Scarlet Empress again, you've averted the Realm Civil War and saved Creation! How did you do it? And why does she seem to spend so much more time in the baths now, makes those odd noises, and insists on traveling South for the winter?"

"Let's just say I had a stroke of... duck." /dons artifact sunglasses

Your mind goes to stories you've heard about Houses Cathak and Ragara crucifying rebels and bandits. The Empress ruining whole prefectures in reprisal for rebellion by the house controlling them. The dark dungeons far away from the dignified beauty of palace life. You hadn't been forced to witness any of these things yourself, the faces transfixed in agony or the starving villages, but you'd known of it.
I'll be honest, Sapphiria, all that stuff is nasty of course, but turning people into living statues to endure unending torment without prospect of release still seems worse. It's probably just that atrocities achievable in real life feel less horrifying due to familiarity than fantastical ones, and no doubt the Empress wins on sheer numbers, but like... there's only so bad "we killed them painfully" can register as.

The Realm does love its artificial distinctions.
"I could, in principle, have quit" is a pretty important distinction, Sapphiria!

There is something strange about this bond, something unnatural, unholy. Hellish. There is no give to it, a sentiment horribly transfixed in amber, not a living, breathing relationship that can break or change over time... Is this why you've always been warned against Black Claw Style?
Huh, I'm curious how this works. Is the nature of the feelings organic and real, and the unnatural sense Grace gets about the bond a result of the relationship being magically preserved by Black Claw Style? Or is the rancid vibe here based on how Yasza feels all by itself, and the warning is about tying yourself to an unhealthy connection?

"Did she give herself that name, the same as we both did ours?" you ask.
"Ah yes, Awesome Johnny Big-Dick they call me. Well, I've asked them to call me. ...I call myself."

[X] Charcoal March of Spiders Style

Spooder style

Kinda wish for Obsidian Shards of Infinity Style, cause I got the secret technique charm where you punch someone so hard you end up in a random part of creation. SIDDY BOOK SOOOOON

[X] Prismatic Arrangement of Creation Style

It sounds like it's far and away the most useful and versatile style. Plus, consider that this is a long-term character development vote; I'm not altogether sure I like the potential effects the other styles might have on her. I'm particularly against the Charcoal March of Spiders style. The last thing I'm interested in is making her character more brutal and unkind.

I picked the styles I did sort of deliberately for Grace. They're ones that are fun for me to write, but they're also the three that we currently have published that suit her established combat style the best.

Charcoal March and Emerald Gyre are both styles that work with rope darts and meteor hammers, like Throne Shadow Style does. Throne Shadow is a style that wants you to play back row support character alongside your Shadow Fingers, powering them up and letting them shield you in turn. Charcoal March straightforwardly works very well with that, by giving you access to like, flying wire Essence spiderwebs that can ensnare and slow enemies at distance as well as deliver a variety of horrifying supernatural poisons, and it gives you some great mobility options. Emerald Gyre gives you interesting tactical options that also work well with Throne Shadow's gimmick, with its precognition charms letting you be warned of or prepared for danger ahead of time, and with a very early charm letting you rewind time for objects and even whole structures in a way that can change the battlefield on the fly. It's also got advanced teaching tech.

Prismatic Arrangement is just like, almost always a solid choice, and it works well with Throne Shadow because it works well with any unarmed compatible style with a variety of very solid combat buffs and very useful utility powers.

Can PAoC copy... every anima power?
It doesn't normally copy anima powers, but it can mimic secondary anima effects like Dragon-Blooded anima flux and aura. It can otherwise copy anima and associated trappings of any Exalt type you are personally familiar with.

The exception to this is that, Sidereals and Getimians who use the style to mimic another Caste of their own Exalt type get access to that Caste's anima powers on top of their own. For example, if Grace were to use that to mimic a Chosen of Endings' anima power, she could use the Lesser/Greater signs of both Saturn and Venus.
