Anyway, looking at that prophecy, and it looks like it's a guide to the other young Manaketee

"The first, follow the path you are on.
Light the flames to restore promised dawn."

"You're on the right track, keep doing what you're doing and you'll get a chance to "Light a flame", do so and you've got one"

"The second, travel deep into the Dry Sea,
With help of my grandchildren, you shall find an eternal key."

There's a big grassland 'Sea', wasn't there? The place the bunny-people live?

"The third is far, bound where created were five
Return with at least one, a last love to revive."

There were five Masterworks, weren't there? I suspected the Master was a surviving uncorrupted Manakete, I guess they had a kid they were hiding? Suggests this one's at their workshop though.

I Suspect these are the White, Green, and Red Manakete respectively.

Still no signs of the Black one, but I don't think we're going to be so base as to go "One subtype of Manakete are just plain Evil", but the Black color is the one that's best at playing around with prophecy--I think they'll show themselves eventually.

Alternately, the final line Is the clue to the black one.

"Return with at least one, a last love to revive.""

"Just come back here when you've retrieved at least one of the other Manakete."

[X] Try to join in the discussion between Missionary Jogby and the scribes as they work to puzzle out what the vision meant. While you're not sure they're on the right track, it'll probably make a good impression to show interest, though they'll almost certainly ask you a lot more probing more questions. Hopefully, being helpful will fully smooth over any hard feelings they might hold about you going near the lake.

The term "Dry Sea" makes me think of a desert, but I don't remember seeing one on the maps we were given. *checks* Well, I don't think it's an outright desert, but the area west of the River of Union/The Emperor's March does look browner than the places that are more clearly grasslands.

I will have to go back and read this when I'm not so tired it's like being under the influence because reading this was a trip.

Edit: I had to a word.

On the one hand, we could join then and make a good impression.
On the other hand, we more or less just had their goddess show us her favour- we have nothing to prove at this point.
I'll leave both votes for now while I think longer on this.

[X] Study the cloak, try to figure out what it is and why you were given it. It must be important for some reason.

Honestly, I'm of the idea that the last black manakeet was the Emperor, and/or someone who influenced the emperor, given what little we know of him and the upheaval in manakeet society around the time of Reza's slumber

I feel like we want to meditate on it AFTER we're in privacy rather than around Jogby.

... this is definitely about the other Manakete kids. One of them is here, and we'll meet them if we just keep going down this path. Something about igniting a flame? Literal or metaphorical? Either way, this is probably our White counterpart - the Promised Princess from the local stories.

A second is in a "dry sea", where the Mother's grandkids will help us find a key of some sort. We know there's a place called the Ocean of Grass, and it's inhabited by the cat folk - maybe that's the place? This is directly north of where the Red Manakete once lived, and as most of their lands is now the Empire's home turf, I suspect that's who we'll find there.

The third, meanwhile, is trapped somewhere far away, where five things where once made. @Alectai pointed out that there were five Masterwork/Regalia weapons, and I suspect he's onto something. This has both the simplest instruction, and the most difficult - bring at least one of the Masterworks back home, "a last love to revive". What that last part means, I have no idea. I can't remember where the Old Master lived, so I've not the foggiest clue which tribe the last one of the kids is - they could be Green, Black, or even both if I'm right about my theory that the other children will have the starting trait options we didn't pick for Ryza at character generation.

As a reminder to everyone, there only seem to be four Manakete children in the prophecy. Remember, all this theorising started because the Black Mage from the Marble Hall saw four wyverns - which young Manakete in dragon form closely resemble - facing down a giant dragon - presumably the Fell Dragon back for round two.

All this said, I'd prefer to see Ryza's own thoughts before we make any decisions on our plans. There's always the chance I'm just horribly, horribly wrong, after all! For now, let's join the brainstorm session and then once we've got some privacy, form our own conclusions.

I can't wait to meet the Promised Princess.

Well that was a lot. Saint Ryza when?
Very mysterious and important that prophecy/revelation/advice. Something to keep in mind to be sure.

The priests getting a bit overzealous is a bit concerning, but I think it's also completely justified, or maybe not justified, but rather to be expected in this scenario. It's possible that the Divine being they worship just spoke to us after all.

I think getting hints as to what exactly this means is important. Plus might also calm them down if they see that Ryza is taking this seriously and is willing to cooperate.

Mr. Zealot over here demanding we fork the cape over for study when we haven't even had a chance to look it over ourselves. Someone's gonna try to swipe it guaranteed. Study it now while we know for a fact we'll have access to it.

Weirdly this actually reassures me a little about Jogby. I still get weird vibes from him but now I think it's just that he's just deeply religious and not "possibly working with the Empire." That could still be a problem (like wanting to take our cloak) if there's different sects/factions here and that becomes an issue - and I guess it's still possible he could be very religious and thinks helping the Empire is in line with that... but I'm less worried about an imminent backstab than I was before. :V

Actual vote is a tough one, I kinda want to vote for them all lol.

The second, travel deep into the Dry Sea,

We can guess who these grandchildren are from something we saw way back when Ryza was looking around her mountain home. We had an option we did not take: "The Uplifting of the Plains by Evelithe makes you cock your head. Why is there a detailed diagram of a human with cat ears and a tail? And what's that in its hand…"

So at a guess the cat people over to the west are the grandchildren spoken off. The thing in its hand could be something like a laguz stone. If the dragons uplifted them they could be said to be the children of dragons and thus grandchildren of the Mother.

Joining the discussion seems like asking for problems as the zealots ask a thousand questions and Ryza tries to avoid half of them without giving offense.

Making an effort to work with them will gain goodwill with others who can help us if Jogby has his own designs.

We can study the cloak later, but memory might hurt in the longer term if we delay this. Either that or just full-faith on Jogby merely being a future religious opponent instead of something else more insidious.

Semi-related, we definitely want to watch Ryza's time in the Divine Realm closely. In and out, back to the frontlines as soon as possible. Who knows what could happen in the interim, but one thing is certain. A confrontation with Salvador is inevitable, one way or another. A confrontation with Salvador where we have no completely trustworthy allies is extremely dangerous. And we really don't know whether or not he can gain access to the Divine Realms, or what he'll do in the interim, so Ryza should probably return to the safety of Artemis with all due haste.

Been a bit busy this week, glad I wasn't so late that I missed the vote entirely even if I'm justified voting the same as the majority.
