Earth Bet: House of the Sun (Cultist Simulator/Worm)

I think training up the fodder would be good? Improve our action economy. Get some people to watch our back. Be useful to the cult when the endbringer fight comes up, etc, etc...

@Witherbrine26 can we pull from inside the PRT for people personally loyal to us?

Probably not a good idea to skimp on work with the endbringer attack closing in so we'll be stuck on 4 actions. 1 needs to go to recovery, 1 needs to go to the Alicja case. I think getting the second level of Grail would be ideal with how we will need to convince people about the alicja case.

That just leaves 1 action left which is not a lot of choice with how many things we need to do. If Wraith gets loose we lose a lot of the progress we made towards promotion. If we leave Alicja alone there's a good chance she sets up an ambush and kills us. We need to build up our relationships, explore the mansus, develope our lores. So much to do so little time.

We really need some better action economy.

We could also have 6 actions if we use sick days. People get sick sometimes, it's nothing weird.

We could also further loyalty of our cadre to us and have them help us with Alicja.

[X] Plan: Use all the possibilities while there is no Simurgh
-[X] Take a break here and there (Costs one action, roll two recovery dice. 0/-15)
--[X] A touch here and there of something a bit stronger (Costs 60 Funds, two recovery dice will automatically succeed)
-[X] On work and the challenges it entails. (There will likely be an Endbringer attack next month, so all hands will be on deck)
--[X] You'll cut a few corners here, leave a bit early (Gain an extra action, will not be noticed if not done often. Your work is slightly less likely to notice your wounds)
-[X] On promotion and improvement (The below actions improve your chance of being selected as Director should Carol be unable to perform her duties.)
--[X] Keep guard on Wraith, ensure that nobody breaks him out of prison
-[X] On furthering the cause.
--[X] Arch, the Loremaster
---[X] Arch could use some money for items he may find (200 Funds)
--[X] Who? (Weapon)
-[X] On learning the Lores.
--[X] You Master is willing to teach, request a lesson
---[X] What lore? (Grail)
-[X] On Rites, Rituals and the things inbetween
--[X] You'll cast The Attention of the Laws (Grail)
-[X] A fleeting opportunity (rumor mills spin, opportunities come and go. These actions might never be available again)
--[X] Bury the Alicja case (Cannot be taken with taking the case)
-[X] The Mansus, a place of contradictions. It calls to you, reach out.
--[X] Explore the Woods and it's many secrets
---[X] Explore the Luster-Drowned Well

That's what it says in the name of the plan. Try to make the most of the situation while it is possible.

[X] Plan: Sick days and Instilling Loyalty
-[X] You are injured (You currently have two wounds. You'll make a roll at +5 against a DC of 70. You must select one of the below)
--[X] Take a break here and there (Costs one action, roll two recovery dice. 0/-15)
---[X] A touch here and there of something a bit stronger (Costs 60 Funds, two recovery dice will automatically succeed)
-[X] On work and the challenges it entails. (There will likely be an Endbringer attack next month, so all hands will be on deck)
--[X] You've got sick days, use them (Gain two extra actions, will be noticed by your direct superior, although the full extent is unknown. Your work is less likely to notice your wounds)
-[X] On promotion and improvement (The below actions improve your chance of being selected as Director should Carol be unable to perform her duties.)
--[X] Keep guard on Wraith, ensure that nobody breaks him out of prison
-[X] On matters outside the cult.
--[X] Spend time with somebody
---[X] Arch (Give him the books, spend some time together)
-[X] A fleeting opportunity (rumor mills spin, opportunities come and go. These actions might never be available again)

--[X] Assist somebody else in their task
---[X] Arch, the Loremaster
----[X] Arch could use some money for items he may find (200 funds, ask for a weapon)
--[X] Search out the talented, teach them Edge
--[X] Build up the loyalty of the cult, ensure they'll listen to you if need be

I went different direction than H2F2. Using our sick days we have more actions and they are spent on cadre and taking over the case. No Mansus exploration though.

This is the same as above Plan except loyalty is replaced twice with Mansus. We are bound to get more Lore here, if we survive.

Whoa whoa whoa, we are not seriously going to risk getting wounds or maluses from a Mansus Expedition right before an Endbringer attack, are we? Now is the time for hunkering down and networking, before people get too curious about our being injured every other turn.

The odds of an Endbringer attack hitting Houston are minimal, but fair enough on the suspicion.

This is me trying to cover the bases as best as possible. recovering,Improving the loyalty of the cult followers, guarding wraith, burying the case, getting Grail up and doing a woods expedition.

[X] Plan: Sick days and Mansus

On the other hand doing a full 2 actions in the mansus is quite compelling. It's pretty damn risky but there is potential for a lot of reward.

I wish to know, what other people think about taking/burying the case? I could change that single thing depending on general consensus since I don't really have an opinion either way.

I would rather read the lantern book

This is meant to give him the books and ask him about the Light he saw. If we progressed to close friend as well that would be perfect.

---[X] Arch, the Loremaster
----[X] Arch is always in need of funds for his books (200 funds, ask him to prioritize books on Lantern)
-[X] On learning the Lores.
--[X] You Master is willing to teach, request a lesson
---[X] What lore? (Grail)
--[X] The cult's library has a few texts, go read up on them
---[X] The manuscript on Lantern (You will gain 1 scrap of Lantern)
-[X] A fleeting opportunity (rumor mills spin, opportunities come and go. These actions might never be available again)
--[X] Bury the Alicja case (Cannot be taken with taking the case)

With the Endbringer turn coming up I'd rather not risk any maluses or increase the suspicion that comes with taking more time off. Plus reading the manuscript now, and asking for books on Lantern specifically lets us have good odds on getting to Lantern 2 for next turn when the Endbringer attacks so we can learn something from it.

Personally I'd prefer burying it. Taking it would give us more resources but it feels a lot more risky. It would require a lot more convincing to the people we work with to try and avoid them making the connection to us. Just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I highly doubt we can progress him to Close Friend with just one action, plus attempting to both learn from him and raise friendship in one action feels like overreaching and risks us failing a check thus wasting the action.

I'd rather bury it, because taking it over leaves us with... what? A case we need to establish a fall guy for? Something purposefully failed, a black mark against our being promoted? Even bringing her in just gives her a chance to fess up some pretty incriminating things on us. Far better to bury things in this particular instance. Now if she openly breaks the law at some point, then I am all for taking her case and dumping PRT assets on her. But currently the evidence of our misdeeds are tattooed upon us in stitches and bruises, and any trial is going to lead to some very awkward questions, such as, "why is her blood and your rifle casings in her bedroom, your blood in the parking lot, and your rounds buried in her car?"

Hmm, you are right. I suppose we can just give him the books, talk about stuff, no lesson required.

I'd rather bury it, because...

Yeah, the consensus along with other plans seems to be to bury it. I'll change that accordingly.

So. Did we learn anything new about the endrbingers yet?

Or train the cults minions?

Those are still our tasks yes?
